Hello my friends, these are my reasons why I love my SL R129 Mercedes Benz, I am sure there are many many other reasons too... Please share your top favorites here, thank you :)
R129 is a stand out beautiful car of the era. It still is a stand out car today. I likethe look of it with the hardtop on. great video and yesthe switch gear feel and sound totally agree.
@@BenzAddiction yes the qualitly , fit and finish of the newer (post 2006) cars are not as good. Recently had a look at a w212 as well and was not impressed with it compared to w211.

only a real enthusiast can give the sound of the switches so much attention :-) I agree to all of your reasons for buying such a car ! my first reason is the build quality of the car. although thy are complicated, these cars a reparable ! even for a privat person.

Thank you, I know finance matters too, for R129 although the parts are expensive but from an accountanting point of view the depreciation is done and dusted 😀
Frankly you need to improve your driving skills. Your statements about the R129 handling characteristics are far away from being a cozy cruiser. The car does perform well and translates all your efforts exactly into wherever you steer at if you are savvy and tame the masses. It always surprises me how effortlessly it does it.
It always surprises me too, perfect balance of comfort and handling, especially the ADS. Next time I'll take it to the track to prove my driving skills... 😉 Oh no, I am 42 Year old "old man" so may be not...

Thanks Allan, I looked at a few +2009 year Mercedes Benz like W212 and the quality was not there... still w209 has decent quality IMHO...

I love mine too…1990 300sl. Maybe a little slower but very nice quality. Hopefully I won’t need to replace the distributor cap too often.
