The insights I wish I had earlier| A few ago, I attended the Arab Women Summit organized by London Arabia Organization. The event consisted of three days and throughout these three days, I got to meet, talk and connect with some of the most beautiful, inspiring, successful, courageous and smart women of the Arab and Muslim world as well as some of the most reputable British female politicians. Going into this conference, I knew I will get to connect with some of the brightest and inspiring minds but little did I know that I will have so many meaningful insights that kept me awake for many days after the event. I am the person who seeks for inspiration from everything and, as they say, what you seek seeks you. I was looking for inspiration and I found more than I could have asked for. I hope these insights of mine will also inspire you to start acting on your life and not postponing your big dreams!

At age 75 and retiring to Thailand seven years ago, people said "you cannot volunteer, you cannot do this, you cannot do that." I said to myself " why not?" I can HELP. I can help teach English to hill tribe students. i can help several anti-human trafficking NGOs. These two endeavors are a far cry from the scientist I was in my working life. My involvement in anti-human trafficking helps so many victims and prevents and protects many children from being exploited. What is a better endeavor than helping a child? Stopping human trafficking is my goal in my twilight years. As long as I have the energy to do so, I will help these NGOs to rescue victims, protect and prevent human trafficking in all the ways that I can. Just watch the film "The Sound of Freedom" and get motivated to help too!

I really love both "You are your greatest investment" and "Sell yourself as if you were a luxury product" and I feel these two are very closely related and so so important! I was investing too much into other people or trying to get the wrong type of attention. Focusing on myself and my own investments has been much more rewarding.

Hi Jamila, I'm still in secondary but I'm looking to study international relations and diplomacy in England (if possible). I live in Europe and at my age I must choose between sciences and humanities. I know humanities is more aligned with this degree, but sciences opens more doors in case I change my mind about my career. It's also a bit harder and more respected.
