    Thanks. I have a big 80” x 48” mirror I just hung using the 72” j-mold from HD like you did in the video. I didn’t buy 2 of them and just centered it and drilled straight into 5 studs.

    My vote is install them to be centered with the exercise area, not the walls/soffits themselves. But also, I probably would've installed them long side down in a 2 wide, 3 high configuration (if it's a 9ft+ ceiling like what it appears to be). That way you'd make the most of the space on the wall and get lots of mirror area for when you're using the gym. Of course, that would double the cost of mirrors, but I think it would be worth it in the end.
    Great video though! I've been following along the whole series and have enjoyed all of it!

      not a bad suggestion. I'll have to see what it looks like when I get the rack delivered and set up. the rack will be going dead center of the mirrors as they are. If it doesn't work - I might pull the mirrors down and reconfigure

I followed the exact same process, but there is a slight gap in between the mirrors once I have them sitting in the J channel. I also purchased 2 of the 3' x 5' mirrors to be placed side by side on the 72' j channel. My question is do the mirrors sit tilted back against the wall or are they flush? Also i see you didnt use any epoxy or glue on the back of the mirror, do they wobble as a result? Thank you

    • @PlatoonGarage
      @PlatoonGarage  3 роки тому +1

      The mirrors sit ever so slightly tilted back against the wall, we're talking like 1/8" so very small amount. No epoxy needed, if I ever take them down there's no need to scrape glue/epoxy off the walls.
      If you mount everything correctly (and assuming your wall is straight) there is no wobble at all. 👍

      @Mitesh Did this setup work for you? The 72" J channel says it's it can only support 50LBS. 2 3' x 5' mirrors weigh in at 62LBS. All comes from Glacier Bay, you would think they'd make sizes and weights compatible.

      really straight forward, get the mirrors - the box contains the clips and screws to mount the top. then get a "J" channel at the link in the description. Use some #8 1.5" wood screws to hold the J channel to the wall and that's it. You'll need a screwdriver and if you're fancy a laser level to mark out where the J channel goes. good luck

      For the top part of the mirror, I used the screws that came in the box. For the J-channel I used 1.5" wood screws.
      The drill bit I used was one size smaller than the screw width, but was bigger than the predrilled holes, I just drilled through and made it larger
