Thank you for the screw info. Common sense dictated that I knew there had to be a special flat head screw for the J channel. I cannot believe the other vidros out there where people are using like 40 finishing nails in the J channel with no beam contact. And another glued the J channel to the sheetrock. Its not a matter of it might fall but when. If you are hanging mirrors, do what this guy says.
This is really helpful will be installing 3/16 mirrors, the 1/4 ones limited in my area. Good idea about the screws. I can't tell if you are saying "lath screws" also will get correct adhesive. Do you recommend the J mold that's already cut and pre-drilled or getting this JChannel? I'm shopping at home depot. If you can list the items that would be great!! Thank you⁷
I have metal studs - argh. Do I need to put inserts for each screw? Or is it ok to predrill a hole to ensure I get my screw through the metal and then use sheet metal screws. What if the mirror needs some trimming - around light switches, corners, etc? I like the idea of some glue to dampen the mirror from vibrations (such as someone stops upstairs or hits the wall).
Would it be a problem if I installed a similar mirror on top of a power outlet? The power outlet is not completely flush to the wall so I’m worried the mirror will stick out too much and possibly break. Any solutions?
some outlets produce heat when blocked. there might be a way to undo a ground wire or something that makes the outlet inoperable and just leaves the outlet without electricity going to it. otherwise i'd recommend getting a mirror/glass place to cut a hole for it and possibly buy a mirrored outlet cover. it looks really nice when done right.

Thanks
