Long ago, Eiichiro Oda claimed that he would change the ending of One Piece if a fan theory would get it right. However, recently, it was confirmed to be untrue. In January 2021, Editor Isaka asked Oda if he would ever change his ending for the story, and Oda simply denied wanting to do that.
pretty sure he just said that he stopped paying attention to theories so if someone got close or got it right he wouldn't feel the need to change it. and didn't he say that some theories he's seen really got it mostly right?
George RR Martin gets asked this question and says you can’t really change the ending so late into a story without potentially ruining your entire story. Even changing one small detail at this point could destroy the continuity of the story & create endless plot holes. So George just avoids reading fan theories about how the books will end.
Maybe because none of the fans got it right OR sb actually has gotten it right to the letter, so Oda refused to change it. Oda is a great mangaka BUT he also wanted his story to be as unpredictable as possible, so people actually reading his mind and typed it all out prolly wouldnt boil down too well with him

I don’t see the good timeline drawings as end of series looks, I see them as the “what the strawhats look like if everything went right for them” as an opposite to where everything went bad. Which we know, this just isn’t the case in the series, as evidence of the ace future images. In our series, ace dies, but in the perfect timeline, he never does, cause nothing goes wrong.
Well, looking at the type of story one piece is, it is almost guaranteed that everything must go right. These guys are the living embodiment of shonen morals and having them lose that makes no sense story wise.
yeah but if ace survived Luffy probably wouldn't have admitted that he was weak and he wouldn't have trained with Rayleigh before going to the new world. So yeah he'd get defeated really quickly.
the thing about keeping in touch is that the Straw Hats are of different age groups, so when one of them is displayed at age 40 or 60 its much sooner in their lives than for others, so by the age 60 of some younger straw hats, others may have passed away (granted the life expectancy in OP is higher sooo)
also rayleigh said he doesnt keep in touch with any of his crewmates from rogers crew and hes in his 60s. it makes sense. after crews disband after all dreams are fulfilled. people move on with their lives. dont always keep talking all the time.
I would love to see Law drawn into "The Shining" Here's Johnny scene but instead of Jack Nicholson it's a loaf of bread breaking through the door, and Law is Wendy.
Oda is the definition of “never let them guess your next move” because this man has been throwing us for a loop since chapter 1. We keep thinking we’ve got him figured out and that we’ve finally pinned him down. Nope.
50 YEARS LATER A group of young boys and girls were playing pirates on an island. Suddenly one of the boys stop. "Hey, you guys hear that?" "Hear what?" says another kid from the group. "Shhhh...listen" They all pause and listen. They hear a faint but clear violin echoing from the top of a hill near the shore. It is a familiar tune that Pirates used to sing long ago. "C'mon let's go!" says the first boy and everyone else starts running towards the direction where the music was coming from. They finally reach the top of the cliff and they find a tall skeleton with an afro sitting alone and playing violin in front of some tombstones. The kids walk towards him when they saw the tombstones clearly. They were no names. Upon looking closer, they saw there were some items placed on each on the individual tombstones. One had three swords, one had books, one had a long slingshot, one had a metallic rod, and so on. The kids came quietly and stood behind the skeleton who was sitting in front of a tombstone which bigger than the others and was placed right at the center. That tombstone was also unmarked but there was an old straw-hat on top of it with a jolly roger of a skull and cross-bones with the skull wearing a straw hat. One of the kids who a bit older than the others, gasps. "Mugiwara no Luffy..." he mumbles. The skeleton stops playing and turns around. "Oh hello there" the skeleton speaks with a gentle tone raising his hat with his hand to greet them. "Did you know him? The P...Pirate King?" gasps the kid. The skeleton becomes silent for a few seconds and lets out a gentle yohoho. "Yes, he was my Captain" smiles the skeleton. All of them gasps astonished. Their eyes widen and smiles. "Did you really sail with the Pirate King!?" one of them exclaims. "Well of course I did little one, I was blessed with the honor to be the ship musician because every pirate crew needs music you see!" "What were they like? The Pirate King and his crew?" exclaims another, all excited. "Oh where to begin! Well for starters, our shipwright was an eccentric yet brilliant cyborg who only ever drank cola. Our archeologist was a young lady who was troubled by her past yet found friendship with all of us. Our ship’s doctor was a tiny raccoon-dog, reindeer fellow. The marksman of the ship was a coward, but also noble and good-hearted. Our navigator was a foxy young woman with a nasty habit of stealing. The cook was a hothead and constantly tried to one-up with our first mate, who became the World's Greatest Swordsman and...." "And the captain? The Pirate King?!" interrupts the older kid. "Our Captain was the glue that held us all together, or should I say the rubber band? Yohoho! He was a spirit as free as the breeze that filled our sails and pushed all of us from the East Blue to the Grand Line, and on to Raftel where he found the One Piece." A gentle wind blew across the cliff tousling their hair. They were all speechless. "And if I were to say any more, I would say they were my family, and I miss them very much" smiles the skeleton. Suddenly they hear a sound coming from the ocean. The kind of sound whales make. The kids looked from the edge of the cliff and saw a huge whale with scars all over its forehead crests, and shooting water through its blowhole. The skeleton looks at the kids and laughs. "Yohoho! How about a song? This one is Laboon's favorite.. (Violin Plays Bink's Sake)
Talking about the "end of the series" has me thinking. We're within a relative stone's throw of the truth of the One Piece being revealed. I'm thinking there should be an agreement amongst the community to never publicly reveal what it ACTUALLY is. Like, a "You have to make the journey to find out" kind of thing.
Do you mean creators should only vaguely refer to it, like in their review they should say (taking roger laughing at laugh tale as an example) "so a certain someone was at a certain island and we all know what he did when he saw that certain thing"
@@shavitsapozhnikov1050 in an ideal world, content creators would be able to dance around the truth of it, and keep the mystery alive. But, lets be honest, there's no way every content creator could keep that quiet. But as @sturdyindustries said, this is more a call to the fan community at large to only discuss the specifics with people who have made it to that point in the story.
Is it possible that in the "good" timeline, Usopp lives on Elbaf living the life of a warrior after they disbanded and because of how far he would be from everyone he would be so that could explain why he doesn't see or talk to them much
I love how the raid on Onigashima seems somewhat similar to what a raid on a castle would’ve been like in days past. The strongest of your group goes up against the strongest of the opposing group and the next strongest follow after while the lower level fighters merely account for numbers. This would’ve been more significant in the real world, but it reflected in the story. There are moments of idleness where you think “they’re really going to go find MORE trouble in this living hell?” And yes. Just as in medieval Europe and feudal Japan (and just about everywhere else to a degree) these kinds of things happened often. One group conquering another was the name of the game. Thank God we’re not soldiers trying to battle our way merely just to survive another day like so many before us (and many alive today even). It adds a bit of edge for the viewer, knowing that even though this is fantasy, some real life connections can be made. Just one detail that seems small but goes a long way. The nuance like this in anime and this show especially is what makes it fantastic. Just some thoughts that are hardly connected to the video, but i thought I’d share anyway.
I told my self I wouldn't subscribe until I caught up! 3 years later I finally have and I am happy to subscribe and keep up to date with you on this fantastic story!
I would love a drawing of The Fantastic Four: Luffy as Mr. Fantastic (obviously), Nami as Invisible Woman (Mirage Tempo), Sanji as Human Torch (Hell Memories), and Chopper as Thing (Arm Point); bonus, Franky as Dr. Doom looming in the background.
Honestly it makes sense that the straw hats break up at the end of one peice. None of them have goals of conquest or building an empire. So once everone acheives their goal it makes sense that they part ways.
But that's sad...why can't they just stick together till the end and build their own island for them to mak3 family and other people can gomlive in tht island too.
@@cedie121213 Because they are mature people by this point in the story. They know how to let go and they are forever connected in spirit. Staying together is literally overstaying their welcome. What makes the team work for all this time is the mission itself - when the pirate king quest is complete , it’s just a bunch of aging super strong wanderers which just becomes sad.
My thought is Usoop embarked on his own pirate journey. Effectively he’s “played” captain but when they complete it, he is free to go with now his real life experience on his own journey with the three boys from the town. He returns, brings them on the pirate journey they’ve always wanted and retired again back in town before reminiscing about his first and greatest pirate journey, perhaps even regretting not jumping into the mix a bit more often. Or continue his ways and continues blowing up the stories to be even grander than they could ever be Also, luffy is totally king of the sea like a lion. When he is able to eat the way he wants, the balance of the entire safari falls into place and the general natural order where everyone has their food chain to feed off of becomes available. True king. Mufasa lives.
@@liber5964 nah OP stopped being dumb and childish a while back, show actually has a lot of good layers depth world building and char development. Not to mention a good soundtrack and good VAs. There are 2 people in this world, those who are caught up in OP, and those who will never get there. Don't be the never get there
@@UMadUCauseBad OP has layers but they are all built on top of a childish and dumb foundation, luffy screaming that his dream is for a world where his friends can eat as much as they like shows that, and that's not a bad thing, that ending for usopp would fit perfectly
A solid end story for Ussop just being old and telling all these incredible stories to his home village but nobody ever knowing if he was true, like Montblanc Noland, would be soo nice. Nothing is coincidence in Goda's story
I think the ending would be them disbanding after reaching laugh tale and going on back to their villages/friends to fulfill their dreams. Kinda sad, but I hope after some time apart they all get together to explore the new world without the red line separating the seas.
this morning I heard that a kid with cancer wished to know the ending of one piece before he died and when Oda told him privatly the kid was seen to be smiling and crying at the same time (just like the Roger pirates). this is so wholesome, sweet and also exciting.
I'm just happy that Chopper is alive at all, deer only have a life expectancy of 15-18 years. Glad to see longevity was part of the gifts his fruit gave him!
I find it very unlikely that Luffy will live to see 60, and the straw hat incident might be hinting at Luffy dying or something, he did get bathed in the most powerful poison in the One Piece universe and barely survived it with having at least half his lifespan removed, right?
Maybe Gear 5 could have some work around to the poison? It’s based off of the power of imagination and Kaido even says it’s like trying to fight a cartoon character and if you ever seen a Looney Toons episode you’ll know how hard it is to kill one of those guys.
He got 10 years cut off, The average life expectancy in one piece seens to vary but Its likely 70-90 years old, as shown with Whitebeard being ripped despite being a old man
I highly doubt it.Oda always manages to go in a completely different direction most of the times so…I would not really count on it.He is also very cautious about information he gives in the abs and in general so I don’t think so but great video.
If Sabo is actually dead (which I highly doubt) I hope that it isn't said or hinted to and that Luffy (and the readers) find out by encountering a marine with the flame-flame fruit. The realization of what that means hitting Luffy, I think, would be an amazing, unexpected moment in One Piece. Even better if Coby is the one with the fruit
I kinda hope these are more what ifs and that they will continue to sail together. Or if not, I kinda hope Luffy settles down with Boa after freeing the world
As good as an ending that would be we all know that isn’t going to happen. It’ll end with them on a pirate ship running from the marines playing we are.
Eiichiro Oda has (if I'm correct) told only one fan the true and complete ending of one piece and it was a young boy suffering of cancer and as a part of the make a wish foundation project he asked to know what one piece's ending was, so he went and told him, both of them crying yet the boy seemed happy at the same time.
it's kinda weird but awesome to think about how usopp could be that badass rayleigh style mentor for other young pirates and they are totally hyped like "omg its god usopp" and so on not knowing how he used to be
Just like Sanji is basically a swordsman when given a chef's knife, Chopper would become a swordsman when given a scalpel. Using them in combat is another matter but the skill can't be denied.
I predicted how luffy would defeat kaido when onigashima flew up, I'm guessing other fans did too , i literally said "i can imagine luffy making his fist as big as onigashima, will have an epic panel with the final showdown, and luffy will punch kaido down and defeat him with his new advanced haki", although i did not see gear 5 or sun god nika mode coming, oda sensei simply the best
I think the idea of Robin saying "Must be nice being young..." is pretty dark. You'd think "You should know, you were young once, right?" But her childhood was basically stolen from her. She was forced to flee her home and live on the run, lying cheating and stealing all the way just to stay alive. She never really got to enjoy youth or feel free until well into adulthood.
Oda has never told anyone his planned ending for One Piece, except for one person, that Child was a kid who had cancer, and was about to die soon, his family did a make a wish and that wish was for Oda to tell the kid the ending for One Piece because he has a big fan.
Stupidiest shit I have ever seen. Prolly most of Oda's inner circle (friends, partners, family) would have know this for a very long time now. Mangakas dont keep secret to their own imho I would cout ATLEAST 100 people who know the ending of One Piece, just like Kouji Mouri has already known the ending of Berserk, and I am being super stingy with it prolly ALL of his assistants know too, and all of his business partners. Don't talk without thinking I guarrantee you there are atleast 3~4 people who is capable of replacing Oda to finish One Piece, at this very moment. And that number can easily rise to 10 in the next few years imho Oda is a truly great mangaka BUT he is NOT the ONLY great mangaka out there, and he isnt super unique either.
Find and torture the family till the cough up details. Make them dig the kid up and prove he didn't get burried with a preview copy or tape of what oda said.
I‘m actually excited if Rayleigh will take part on that big war. And I have a bad feeling that sabo will die so that oda can say for luffys dreams his two brothers had to be a sacrifice. I hope I’m wrong with sabo.
@@DolphinSMG maybe not but there’s a lot of one piece fans who love him. I like him don’t get me wrong, but I would say that he’s one of the few characters Oda made whose kind of underwhelming
Nice video! I read age 60 Sabo's quote (麦わらが事件を?ほっとけ...) as more like "The Straw Hats are causing trouble again? Eh, leave them be." Which I found fascinating because it implies he's in some position of authority. Maybe he takes over the World Govt. as one of the last surviving nobles?
Yeah, cause that's not counter to both his personality and the message of the show. "Luffy becomes pirate king, gives government to noble brother." Oof. Kinda missed the point of this, huh?
@@radaro.9682It'd be weird for Sabo to become a leader just because he's a noble but Luffy is 100% willing to give the power to nobles if he thinks they're good people. Vivi, Riku, Momo... he has a track record of putting power back into the hands of the existing ruling class, it's kinda weird. Also Sabo's one the highest-ranking members in the Revolutionary Army. It'd be weird if he didn't have some role in whatever the new WG is going to be.
@Akash Patro I kinda see the nepotistic assigning of rulership as counter to the message of One Piece so reject that out of hand. But if you think that it isn't sure, that could be an outcome.
@Akash Patro What about Dragon and the RA makes you think they want to be in charge and not give power to the masses? That's literally the opposite of their so far implied reasoning.
I’d love to see a portrait of Luffy, with the left half of his face being pre timeskip, and the right half being post timeskip or Gear 5. Would be so cool!
I would like to see a future version of a good Blackbeard that has become like whitebeard. In honour of our Strawhats becoming like their father figures.
I would love to see Nami drawing a complete map of the world on Luffy's tummy, perhaps making it permanently present, whilst some strawhats are in the act of stretching Luffy's tummy, whereas others are in some way or another assisting Nami with the drawing. After all, that may be the safest way to store a complete map of the world since the only way to read it is to stretch Luffy and the only way to stretch Luffy is if he lets you...
I would say I picture the ending for them like this, they still split. But do an annual dinner for the day they discovered the one piece. They also invite the special friends or the people Luffy asked to join but turned him down. Franky - does more or less everything you said, but he also has a small group of students his teaching to build ships. He also has a small boatbuilding company with the Franky family. Nami - has two businesses, an Orange and other Citrus fruits company with her sister. The other one is for our favorite money hungry navigator, a Casino. Usopp - definitely went back to his island and married Kaya. They had kids, he goes on small adventures every once in awhile in the east blue. He also has a zoan type slingshot and a Iron cloud Usopp hammer , this and his association with the strawhat crew has created the legendary " Sogegod". Then he tells his kids and the village children about his many adventures. Sanji - Should take over Baratie and has created 2 other Baratie restaurants thru the sea. He also has took over his home land and turned Germa 66 into a peace keeping unit. Plus one of the Baratie restaurants are located between the whole cake island and Germa Kingdom. He married Pudding and goes fishing in the all blue on a regular basis. Chopper - Has become useful like he dreams of, he created a mobile boat hospital and medical school. Also he improved the rumble ball beyond it's norm. As well as a medicine that can cure most if not all sickness. Zoro - would've developed new styles, He received challenges and duels on a regular basis like being challenged by Cracker and his sister Amande. Brook - Went back to his music career and became the greatest music artist ever. Jinbe - became a father and opened up a fishman Karate dojo open to all races. Luffy and Nico is fine
Sanji with Pudding? honestly if the whole cake BS didnt happen and they met in normal methuds i could 100% see them being together through the remainder of the story and end up married once the crew splits at some point
@@enderborn6860 I would think with big mama gone it play a major role on her kids having more freedom and not following through with her goals. Internal war over goals, leadership and personal views. So she see it as a chance to start over with sanji before marrying him

Originally I was wondering why oda didn't draw brook and if that meant he was dead by ago 40 or 60 and while I guess that wouldn't be entirely wrong then I remembered he's actually way older than both of those ages at I think 90 years old and then I thought it might have been fun to see what he was doing at those ages but then I remembered he was stranded in the Florian triangle for 50 years and during both of those ages too
And since he's a skeleton it's unlikely he'd look any different in the future. Maybe he'd have a few cracks or chips in his bones, or maybe his afro would diminish a little, but that's kinda all that could change.
@@HailTheRegent yea plus I doubt he's ever going to die of natural causes since he has no need for vital organs that could stop working and Eben if his bones do Crack he can just drink milk to fix em the only natural cause that I think could kill him is bone cancer or other diseases that affect them
That cannot be! Zoro already defeated six-style swordmanship at the very start and then went on to defeat the other octopus during the fishman island saga. I don't think he needs more swords.
one thing to point our is that Franky is currently 36 in the series, and by 50 the crew has disband. This means that Luffy has become the pirate king and his crew have disband in the time of 14 years. This isn't that game changing, but assuming Franky has been on that island for a few years (to repair the heating system and whatnot. I'd assume this would take AT LEAST 4 years since even vegapunk gave up on it) it gives the straw hats less than 10 years until luffy becomes king and they disband. I assume as the crew gradually fufil their dreams they disband, similar to roger's crew, and then settle down. This basically just tells us that the straw hats won't be sailing the seas for years after they become the worlds strongest crew, unlike either Big Mom or Kaido
Still need to see Brook, Jinbe and Yamato. C'mon, Oda-sensei! Also, while Old Usopp could be referring to missing the Straw Hats, are we really certain he isn't referring to Kaya and his old Usopp Pirates?
@@professorgrimm4602 I'd imagine by Age 110 let say (Because 90 is his current age) He is looking after Laboon off of the base of reverse mountain where he plays music for not only Laboon but travelers that often stop there after coming to the grand line thirsting for adventure.
Drawings hmmm. Honestly, I'd just like to see more of Big Mom in her prime as a young adult, before she inexplicably became an all powerful potato. We've only seen a tiny glimpse of her in her Rocks' days, wouldn't mind seeing a reimagining on young WB or Kaido back then either.
I'd love to see a picture of Merry/Sunny with all the Strawhats abilities/ holding items used by them. Kinda in a Zoro ashura form, but each hand is using an ability/weapon wielded by a Strawhat. Pretty sure this is my 4th or 5th time posting this lol. Will Liam see it?
Eh, considering that we get 40 year in the future versions of dead characters I wouldn't put too much stock in it. Personally I see these as alternate versions where each character gets their best/worst outcomes. I think the strawhats will end up close to but not exactly at the "good endings" though. (Some of them might not make it to 20 or 40 years in the future, some might be a bit different, but in general it will be a positive ending)
The oldest is Brook. And we don't know how long he will live. As for the rest, I see no good reason why they wouldn't be alive after 40 years as the oldest is Jimbe (46) so that would make him 86 years old. And the average life expectancy is 140 in one piece. Why wouldn't any of them be alive? Except for a disease or suicide, I don't see a reason for it. But having Chopper and his dream, makes one of those 2 options even less likely
To be perfectly fair about them not keeping in touch It's pretty In character for Luffy and Zoro maybe everyone's just following their captain's lead one last time Since Luffy doesn't need to keep up contact with his friends to know there still his friends
We’re already seeing what he looks like 50 years later, by reading the main story. Then again, it would be nice to see what he got up to after the ending.
I would like to see zoro after he had eaten Kaido’s devil fruit. Either all his swords are dragons or he himself is a dragon with a sword. Either is fine.

A group of young boys and girls were playing pirates on an island. Suddenly one of the boys stop.
"Hey, you guys hear that?"
"Hear what?" says another kid from the group.
"Shhhh...listen"
They all pause and listen.
"Well of course I did little one, I was blessed with the honor to be the ship musician because every pirate crew needs music you see!"
"What were they like? The Pirate King and his crew?" exclaims another, all excited.
"Oh where to begin! Well for starters, our shipwright was an eccentric yet brilliant cyborg who only ever drank cola. Our archeologist was a young lady who was troubled by her past yet found friendship with all of us. Our ship’s doctor was a tiny raccoon-dog, reindeer fellow. The marksman of the ship was a coward, but also noble and good-hearted. Our navigator was a foxy young woman with a nasty habit of stealing. The cook was a hothead and constantly tried to one-up with our first mate, who became the World's Greatest Swordsman and...."
"And the captain? The Pirate King?!" interrupts the older kid.
"Our Captain was the glue that held us all together, or should I say the rubber band? Yohoho! He was a spirit as free as the breeze that filled our sails and pushed all of us from the East Blue to the Grand Line, and on to Raftel where he found the One Piece."
A gentle wind blew across the cliff tousling their hair.

@@cedie121213 they’ll find their own family, and have their own children but ofc if there’s anything they’ll unite with a secret call or code
Ikrr knowing them i think they will part ways but still cherish the moments they all been together until they grow old
My thought is Usoop embarked on his own pirate journey. Or continue his ways and continues blowing up the stories to be even grander than they could ever be

Maybe Gear 5 could have some work around to the poison? It’s based off of the power of imagination and Kaido even says it’s like trying to fight a cartoon character and if you ever seen a Looney Toons episode you’ll know how hard it is to kill one of those guys.

Don't talk without thinking I guarrantee you there are atleast 3~4 people who is capable of replacing Oda to finish One Piece, at this very moment.

Zoro - would've developed new styles,
He received challenges and duels on a regular basis like being challenged by Cracker and his sister Amande.
Brook - Went back to his music career and became the greatest music artist ever.
Jinbe - became a father and opened up a fishman Karate dojo open to all races.

And since he's a skeleton it's unlikely he'd look any different in the future. Maybe he'd have a few cracks or chips in his bones, or maybe his afro would diminish a little, but that's kinda all that could change.

one thing to point our is that Franky is currently 36 in the series, and by 50 the crew has disband.
