Catches the tragedy and the community spirit that comes together in a small town like Colton in saving their area with the help of First Responders and local folks.

This video did a great job showing what it was like out here. It was extremely emotional for me to watch but I'm glad I did.

Thanks for including my picture of the truck with the American flag, sitting in a burnt field.

I used to live up there just around a mile north and east of Elwood, almost on the boundary of the national forest. We left there in the late 1970's. The gas crisis meant we couldn't afford to stay. My heart stayed there. I have always wondered if the house we built burned and hoped that it survived. Thank you Fire Fighters for your service.
On September 5, 2024, I tried to find the old place on Google, and it is all overgrown. Maybe before I die, I'll get a car and come out there again one last time. I am sure that Les Dimic has passed on. The last I heard was the Seubert Brothers have a business in Estacada.

@@Olya.Konell You did a terrific job! As a former resident of Colton who still has many family members living there, it was heart wrenching, and beautifully hopeful at the same time. Kudos!
