When my husband and I (both huge Trekkies) got married earlier this year, my vows included the line "I promise to join with you, and stand with you, against all who would oppose us". It seemed the honourable thing to do.

I dont, that marriage wouldnt have lasted if it was real, Worf was a traditionalist, Jadzia a feminist liberalized thot with a shattered pair bonding ability, after hooking up with soo many people. This conflict between their core characters is even used as a plot point in the show and nearly causes their relationship to end. Would rather Worf end up with a Klingon female, it suits his character more and his desire to be accepted by his kind.

Stop with the racist Orientalism. You've never seen a Western wedding. You watched a TV show so you think you know what weddings are like. There is absolutely nothing worse than a oikophobe who hates their own culture. There's German weddings, French weddings, Italian weddings, American Southern weddings, all with their own distinct traditions and practices. Go move to India if you love your idea of what their culture is so much. They would absolutely hate someone like you.
