Many CS's (MS's when I was active) feel like they aren't appreciated. For all of you CS's I promise you you are appreciated and you drastically improve the morale and health of your shipmates. Thank you!!!
CSS's workload isn't the same as CS's ashore from what I've heard, but the thing that stays the same is keep up your morale and don't be afraid to mess up. Basic Training wasn't hard, in my opinion. It's just a mental thing really. A school itself wasn't hard either honestly. Only challenging thing for you might be the math?
Aha, def smaller space but you get more training out of the whole atmosphere so woohoo! I couldn't do it when they told me you can't opt out of it lol. You have actual in class lessons for the math and everything on the exams anyways, along with a guide book of it all so you'll be fine! I don't think the A-school is set up to *that* good, but it gets the basics out.
Yes lol. It's kind of just an intro to the products honestly. You do everything once before the final week of actually doing your galley session. It may not make you into Ramsay but you do have fun, depending on the instructors aha. And since the course is now on an army base you will have to run miles and what not every other day in the morning~
This is a very accurate navy vid. GOD BLESS. CS is a great Job and they do have you doing a lot so if you like doing a lot than its a good a rate and they let you do what you want a bit unlike boot camp so it was fun at least with the right crew. The crew makes a big difference in the rate and the test has a high PNA.
Me too man lol, I think it’s not the best job I could get obviously got one of the lowest asvab score requirements but hey I’d rather be doing this than some engineering or tech job in the navy, the only other job I could’ve seen myself doing was as an ABF, ABH.
I'm thinking of joining CS , I'm not sure yet. People say they hate it but I wonder if they even like to cook at all. I work in a kitchen already so I'm pretty much used to fast past and cleaning.
If you want to be a cs go for it I myself is a CS in the navy and I love it. People don't always have to like it but everyone in the navy has a part and as a cs I can say we play a large part in it.
I’m also a CS and to be honest it’s not bad it just depends who you have for your chain of command. That goes for any other rate as well. I worked in the wardroom and yea some days were hell but it was fun as well
I just pick job today I pick CS but my friends said CS in navy is super hard like you working around 16 hours per day? Is that true? I mean I like cooking tbh I already have experience too I cook in restaurants before too and yeah I’mma go bootcamp January 4
I’m a CS it’s not that bad honestly. Every rate has their up and downs. If you don’t have a passion for cooking then simply don’t choose this rate. It’s a easy rate and I made E-4 in one yr on a aircraft carrier.
True sis. I wanna be a military cook because I love cooking but literally everyone says it’s a bad career choice. Military benefits without any of the PTSD l lol.
I like cooking too and I was assigned to be a cs because of my low score but I will try to retest before I ship out if I get a higher score then I’ll pick something else if not then I’ll happily serve as a cs cuz I don’t hate cooking.

GO ARMY BEAT NAVY..... SUA SPONTE SUPERINTENSIFIED, RANGERS LEAD THE WAY.... LOL 😄😁😁!!
