I really like both the remake and original. The no grab in the original means we couldn't see Shepard's expression taking the intel, indicating that he could have felt sorry for the 141 even though he knew he had to betray them, when he couldn't even make eye contact. The remake makes Shepard look more apathetic but also makes it easier to sympathise with Roach's helplessness

The half hearted way he poured the gas too, he must’ve been a comrade of the 141
This would be a cool DLC game idea where we get to play as Shadow Company during the events of mw2 from that Gas Canister Guy's perspective fighting along side with 141

When I first played this game just two years after my father's death, (he was betrayed as well in a military situation, he was a colonel in the army and he was betrayed by his own army) gave me nightmares all over again. It was back in 2009.

Who was he?
I think my absolute favorite part of this scene is hearing Price calling in the warning as Roach and Ghost are getting gasoline dumped on them. The tragedy of Price trying to warn his comrades about Sheperd's betrayal, not even knowing they are already gone. And I can just imagine Price and Soap waiting for hours on that call to come in from Ghost only for it to just never happen.
No shit played this campaign in the moral tent on my day off and I was so pissed off I threw my water bottle across the room.
Another homie in the background who happened to be watching calmly goes, “gets me every time dude” lol.

2009 this shocked the whole community, No game has ever got me emotionally the way this game did
100%. This was the peak that kept you soooo gripped for the story. It still sucks even in remaster to go back through that scene.

For those seeing this for the first time, Shepherd led the invasion against Al-Asad in the first game, which ended with a nuke wiping out 30,000 men. Five years later he felt the U.S. needed to be tested military so he told Makarov about Private Allen being sent to infiltrate his ranks in order to start the war. He got what he wanted and sought to cover up his role in the crimes in No Russian and starting the war so he could be a war hero.
I thought Makarov got that information from Yuri, since he called him "my friend, my ally, my betrayer" and mortally wounded him shortly before the No Russian mission started.
@@mercenarydelta7351 Yuri betrayed Makarov after the nuclear bombing because he thought they went too far. He actually tried to stop the airport massacre, and probably helped Allen sneak into the organization. That’s why Makarov called him a traitor. Yuri said himself “I was a soldier of Russia, not the taker of innocent lives. But…in his eyes, that made me the enemy.”
The most heartbreaking part about this is Price's warning coming just a little too late... Hearing "do not tryst Shepherd" broke me
The face animation for Shepard always haunts me. The remaster shows anger, discontent. The original showed... sincerity. That contrast to the actual deed hits like a brick wall.

The thing is the music when the helicopter arrive gave us somekind a relieved ending vibe even though you got injured only to realised it's for the sad ending
I can still remember the feeling when Im playing this mission and sheperd betrayed us, but the most painful and disappointing that made me cry is when price calling roach and ghost about sheperd, and I feel like, its fcckng late price. We're dead.

i haven't seen anyone mention this but in the remaster; when Ghost and Roach approach the Helicopter and confirming they have the intel.
As soon as Shepherd says the line, you can see Ghost realizes its too late and could not draw his gun quick enough cause it got caught off guard, the remaster just adds that extra punch in the gut and it hurts

Who the fuck didnt already played mw2 in 2023 . I mean the original . Man im 26 and i played the first cod 1 on a giant pc back when i was like 12 or 13 . Was on sale in my local computershop in germany . And you know why cod is and always will be the best . Because you could play the games with high graphics on a garbage pc . Games where optimized to the max . I had a really shitty pc for real . The pc was just garbage who someone gifted my dad so it was then maybe 100 € . And i played cod 1 without any laggs on high and then i bought 1 year later cod2 . And thats where the multiplayer all started lmao . I played cod1 multiplayer too but cod2 search and destroy was legend 😂 quick scopes with kr98 legend . And there werent any hackers on official servers . Best time man . Just to think that today there like 40 cod out is crazy . I know when they released modern warfare 1 anf i couldnt run it with my garbage pc so i quitted it . At that time i had a ps2 and played other games . Best time of my lifeee sry for the garbage talk but yeah people dont even know the first cod games
And now they are alive but the fuckers still killed soap. So much wasted potential killing soap and not even letting him make it to captain this time.

In the original version, there were theories that Ghost survived the incident due to how the Shadow Company soldier apparently did not pour gasoline on him. The theory was debunked and this was changed in the remaster and he now pours it over Ghost.
However, the voice for Ghost (Craig Fairbrass) is present in all the old MW trilogy games. He plays Gaz in the first MW, Ghost in MW2, and Sgt. Wallcroft in MW3. He also basically plays most or all of the SAS soldiers in those 3 games.
Original mw2 and mw3 were amazing...what has happened to cod with this new games? 💔

@@Gypsy-Tonguethe remastered one updates the graphics, as well as adds in a few new details not present in the old one. Like Roach grabbing Shepherd's shoulder is present in the remaster.
Sadly, it only includes the campaign. There was development to make a fan-made COD multiplayer game which included elements from MW2 and 3, but last I heard, they were shot down by Activision and the project was abandoned.
