Cheers Paul, there’s some really good companies out there that do some really nice vegetation, flowers etc...got some more planned for the next project too - thanks for the comment 👍
Barbarossa I congratulate you if you can build the Miniart kits you will be a very expert model maker certainly not an intermediate. I built the Dingo Miniart and couldn't finish it due to the hard suspension. The T 70 miniart was difficult for weak tracks I bought the T 70 Svezda. I like Miniart toy soldiers. Miniart builds different subjects from other model houses but the difficulty remains. HI
Yes you’re right, if I need to buy a kit I’d perhaps always look at Tamiya, Dragon etc…. first before a more complicated Miniart kit. Tamiya for example as they say, almost build themselves…. BUT Miniart figures & especially their accessories are fantastic….🙂👌 So many of my dioramas have been enhanced by their product range!!👍
I am an Italian model maker. Congratulations for the really beautiful diorama. I saw the photos on the Miniart website. I had a lot of problems building the Miniart models. They are beautiful but their plastics crumble as soon as you touch them I'm talking about tanks, trucks etc etc. They are very difficult to build in my opinion.
Hi Corrado, thanks for commenting! Glad you like the diorama, one of my slightly smaller ones but really nice to build😊 I hear what you say about Miniart models, although I can’t say I’ve had the same problem🤷♂️ Have built a number of their kits - this one, a train wagon, a tractor recently…. & the only thing that puts me off slightly is the number of parts in some kits, loads of them. The train carriage in my diorama video ‘Hide & Seek’ had so many almost unnecessary parts, & then was a nightmare to try & align the roof on at the end🥺 But the plastic itself has been fine for me…. Thanks again👍
Amazing build.....lots of detail and visually exciting. I particularly enjoyed your commentary and the way you created the vegetation......great ideas for future dioramas. The taster for the next project is tempting so will be watching to see what's next to develop. Great job yet again!
Impressive and well-made diorama. Very nice in its detailing up till to the little things. Wonderful that the neighbor provides the right utensils, even if he doesn't do it knowingly. Great work, Simon. Greetings, Joachim
Cheers Eric, always things to improve on, other people getting way better results with their builds. But it’s just practise & perseverance, seeing what others can achieve! Thanks for the kind words though, always appreciated 🙏🙂
Greetings from Belarus! 🇧🇾 Nice looking Dio! Great theme! Wonderful work! Really nicely done. A little clarification. Such a cross with a crucifix could only be on the territory of Western Belarus or Poland. This means diorama time - from July to August) Regards Mike
Hi Mike, right the cross is off - in the bin!!😔☹️ Seriously though it’s a fair point, there’s always little things like that that get overlooked.... But it was such a nice item....point taken though! Thanks for commenting, appreciate the feedback 🙂👍
Simon, a cross really nice item in this theme) it must be left! I just pointed out that the action in the diorama cannot occur in June, but it can be in July or August)
Awesome work man! Turned out great, and I love the facial expressions on the soviet soldiers shouting abuse at the Germans. Adds that bit of realism to the piece. Also that tease at the end makes me excited. Will be cool to see you tackle an urban environment/total destruction that happened to the city of Stalingrad. And I had a question for you. For quite a while I've been trying to find brick molds for 1/35th scale. And can never seem to find them. So if you could tell me where you got yours, I'd be indebted to you haha.
Thank you 🙂👍 I do like to try & have a story in each dio, have some interaction between the figures - that's where the spares box/hornet heads come in handy!! Looking forward to tackling Stalingrad, the fountain IS pretty big....😳 I've got some old bricks ready for this one, but I'll do a demo in the next video anyway. I used Diorama Debris in the UK for the brick moulds, , they do moulds & accessories for all sorts, great website...here's the link:- www.dioramadebris.co.uk/135-scale-german-standard-size-bricks-mould-1350001-3-p.asp Cheers!
Thanks Pete, I got mine from ‘Scale Model Shop’, I use them a lot, great online shop👍 www.scalemodelshop.co.uk/product/ak-learning-series-10-mastering-vegetation
As always, fantastic work. By the way, I am trying to create sherman tank diorama wirh motorbikes loaded on the truck bed. I will be very greatful if u find time to see it and give me ur opinion and advise :) the video is ready.
The next one is set around the famous fountain in Stalingrad. An action dio involving Russian & German figures....first video ready to be uploaded by middle of next month - plus there's always update pics on Instagram👍 instagram.com/barbarossa641/
I made a D Day model quite a few years ago, nothing special, so I've got that box ticked already! It's not on the channel, & I've made a number of better dio's since, so don't know if & when I'll do another? I've a 'past & present' idea in mind incorporating D Day, so maybe one day......??
A first class diorama, excellent tips and guidelines.
Thank you Alan, enjoyed building this one. Pleased I squeezed it all on to a relatively small dio 🙂👍
Unique way of holding the airbrush. Sweet...!!
Might have been to do with the videoing? Lack of space & how I set up the camera. It was just whilst I did the filming...
really liked ur diorama well done especially flora and florna

Looks like the sniping scene from "Enemy at the gates".
Yes it is, interestingly they have ‘twice’ as many children on their fountain...🧐???
