A great video with a lot of additional information such as the Moltke battery on Jersey, as well as your contribution with the MP 40. Nice decorative piece that looks good on your wall. Congratulations on this diorama, an xcellent masterpiece in every respect. Wonderful detailed work and much details to see. Simon, a piece to exhibit directly! Best wishes, Joachim
Thank you as always Joachim... Glad you enjoyed the extra content, thought it might be of interest to some people, although not modelling related but still relevant. We’re lucky on the island to have so much recent history like that (although obviously not at the time). Glad you enjoyed the build, felt I had to do the fountain justice - a really nice piece to build. Thanks again 👍
Cheers Mark, another bunker dio in future is perhaps a possibility...certainly enough inspiration here in the island...📍Have the next 2 projects in mind already, one being on a smaller scale for a change...😉
Thank you! I’d wanted to use the curves of an oval to compliment the circular fountain. Really pleased with how it turned out - appreciate the comment, cheers 🙂👍
Great scene and video! :) Just found your channel through the "WW1 Book Diorama" videos, and subscribed. Nice seeing the stuff used for inspiration, like the books and such. Keep up the good work!
Many thanks, I was so lucky to get the fountain before it seemed to go out of circulation😕 Glad you found the channel, 1 or 2 videos on there😏 - hope you enjoy👍
That's been a great series, thanks - and what an awesome result. 👏👏👏 Really like the wet, slushy effects and the figures work beautifully. Fantastic diorama. I enjoyed the bunker tour as well, and who wouldn't want an MP40 on the wall?! Great video, cheers.
Thanks as always Andrew, was pleased with the snow (eventually), it gave me a headache for a few days...🥶 The bunker was great, not many visitors that morning so plenty of time to explore.... Might do another one before the summers over, keep for another video. The mp40 is pretty cool 🔝....cheers bud🙂👍
the final result was excellent. AK snow balloons are a great snow effect and I used them for my first winter scene, however the best snow effect I have used has to precision Ice and Snow. I recommend you try them out.
Cheers Guy, I enjoyed AK’s products, & since this I’ve seen a few UA-cam videos recommending the Precision products. The AK stock is getting quite low now so might give Precision a go next time! Thanks 👍
A historical event so beautifully and visually portrayed....great series, amazing construction and poignant story. Thanks again for sharing your work (including your visit to the battery and bunker on Jersey). Will be awaiting that notification bell to see what's next. Robert

@@Barbarossamodels I've been wanting to get into modelling, but I don't really have the money to invest into it along with my military collecting. Well, at least I've got great youtubers to watch who do it!

As always, a brilliant job on the diorama! It must be rewarding to see the final detail finished after so much time and effort. Loved the quick trip to the gun emplacements also. So much history on your island - a lot of it sad history I guess. Always look forward to your posts, and eagerly awaiting the next project. Cheers from Australia!
Hi Gary, cheers bud! Yeah you’re right, it is a nice feeling when it all turns out as you’d envisaged (hoped for 😟🤞). Tbh when the snow was going down wasn’t at all happy with how it was looking...but after a lot of staring at it, watching ‘snow effect’ UA-cam videos, and more staring😳, it turned out in the end...... Glad you enjoyed the bunker trip, there’s loads of sites like that around the island, a huge former underground hospital just up the road from me, might do a video on it one of these days? A lot of dedicated people here fortunately preserving that history! Appreciate the comment, thanks again 👍
Fantastic diorama! Having moved to Iceland from the UK last year I decided I needed a hobby for the long dark winter days/nights amd luckily the only model shop in the country is just around the corner so it seemed a no brainer to rekindle my childhood. I'll be starting my first diorama next week and this series has been extremely useful for tips on how to do it. Keep up the great work 😀

There’s times I wish I’d keep a record of paint colours/numbers I’d used for future projects.... & for times like this...😩 Pretty sure for the Soviet greatcoats I’d mixed Vallejo ModelAir ‘Concrete 71131’ with lighter shades of grey till I’d achieved something I was happy with? For the uniforms, a decent book I’ve got references Vallejo ‘Russian Uniform 924’, mixed with ‘Khaki Grey 880’.....Sounds about right I think, hope some of that helps...👍
Well, what else to add that has not been said already?... A beautiful dio! Congratulations on a great work! About the fountain, one can still find it online (around 120€), just by doing a little research ;) Cheers!

I am over in the uk and I own a Thompson M1A1 sub machine gun and also a M1 garand, they are both BB guns, I bought them before the law changed, now when you purchase them they have to be painted partly in bright colours, unless you belong to an official reenactment club or go to Airsoft clubs at least 3 times a year, shame as they are as close to real history as we can get but if they have to be coloured then its not worth it to me, I have them as a show piece.
