    This was SO HELPFUL! I just started my nail program and was taught to not only clean my brush with the acetone brush cleaner but also to store my brush in it while I'm working. My brush is less than a month old and is already almost unable to keep a point. Ordering a new one today and will be taking MUCH better care in the future!!!

    Honestly the most helpful video EVER! I thought I was still picking up shitty beads (even tho they looked and worked great) because my brush was forever dirty! 😱😱😱

    Tracey, thank you so much for your informative demonstration. That was by far the clear most comprehensive tutorial I have ever watched with regards to the cleaning of brushes. I’m now far more confident in what I’m doing. I actually want to decorate some of my brushes and thought there was little point as they only last six months to a year, I believe this had changed that.
    You are fab.
    Kindest regards
    Claire xxx

    ❤❤❤ I love these tips for keeping my brushes longer. Nothing I was taught to do before was working. Thanks Chef Tracy 🫶.Thanks YN team for creating quality products we can confidently use without harming anyone accidentally. Thanks for teaching us your tips, tricks & trade with all the free educational media. You guys did the work to teach us, so we can all do nails without the hassles & be a part of the YN community of loyal & happy customers.
    Gel has changed so much, since the initial drool consistency & there are so many options for color, pigments etc & all kinds of artistic creativity. My favorite lately is using the YN fiber gel kit with the UV light & full cover nails, then I spend no time filing or forming, so I can invest much more time on the quality of my artwork & customizing. Some days I love sculpting out acrylic or Synergy gel but when I want to create artistic jaw dropping designs, give me more tips! Double entendre intended. Especially coffin tips.

    It's important to add for those who don't realise that it's best to keep the gel brush out of any sunlight after cleaning as it will harden because it does have gel in it.
    How do you go about cleaning gel polish brushes though? I'm thinking we use coloured gel in the instance of gel pots and could be also using different colours in one go. Do we use alcohol at this point? Is that not damaging the gel polish brush or is that brush made to cope?Thanks:-)

    Should the brushes be laid or standing after cleaning? Does the bristle need to be capped/covered after it being cleaned? Some brushes come in a container. Is that container a good place to continue to store the brush?

    • @youngnailsinc

      Brushes can be stored laying down or standing up. Some states require you to keep them covered.

  • @teresabrinkman7484

    Great INFO, Tom Holcomb taught me this in my first class,but what about storage? Can we LAY our brushes down in the drawer? What about the brushes without lids? I've had my Entity brushes since 2005,all have covers too, I hate seeing acrylic brushes hanging over s folks when they are filing & the dust covers the bristles,?

    • @unicornkitteh5332
      @unicornkitteh5332 6 років тому +2

      Teresa Brinkman the "right" answer is that your acrylic brushes should always be stored vertically with the bristles facing down, so that any leftover moisture from the monomer doesn't drain into the handle and the glue that keeps it together. However, i dont always remember to do it, and many people leave it laying in a drawer. It probably isnt the worst thing as long as you clean it and let it air dry. I always put caps back on if I have them, but if you have those plastic toppers that come on all new brushes (looks like the tip of a straw cut off and placed over), then I would not try placing that back on, as the monomer will eventually eat through and it has a chance of catching bristles.

  • @kittyklawznailz3248
    @kittyklawznailz3248 6 років тому +4

    I'd really like to know how you guys store them! TwT I've used the Pipette and cut them to use as a cap for my acrylic brushes, but I noticed that a lot of my Gel brushes don't come with a cap. I don't have much storage space or a drawer unit to store them, so sometimes I store them in a cup like holder with the self made caps. But they are clear and see through and I'm very self conscious of the UV rays of the sun light hitting them. Do you guys have a solution for this? Thank you all so much! I Appreciate all the Video's you guys have done And I love Young Nails products. I can't live without Protein bond! Thank you so much if you have a solution to my question. #ThanksBro #TraceyNeedsAVaca #HabibRocks!

So I try to even out my spending with both locations. But I work as a nail tech. And sometimes the shipping from AliExpress I can’t wait on when I’m very busy. So I try my best to go direct with the manufactures :)

    I am wondering about storage. I bought an acrylic brush that came with a cap and I was always careful about putting it back in the cap then laying it on the side. The last time I put it in the cap too far & now the tip of the brush is wavy. Is there a way to get the tip straight again? My new brush I put back in the shipping case and the case melted with the reaction. How do you protect your brushes for storage?

    • @youngnailsinc

      we never recommend using a blush cleaner on your brush, instead let your brush soak in the monomer for a few minutes and use something like our table towel to work the acrylic out of your brush. If you still have acrylic stuck in your brush put it back in the monomer and repeat the process.
