    • @Dano-Media
      @Dano-Media 7 місяців тому +1

      @jameswhitaker4357 Depends on which one, some of the Sony prime lenses don't have good focus breathing; but at least they'd be compatible to use with the focus breathing compensation setting.
      But if it's a zoom lens I wouldn't worry. My Sigma 24-70 f2.8 has way better focus breathing than my Sony 85mm f1.8

    Been shooting sports and was using the BMPCC6k. I threw up he canon 90D on a glidecam just to try it out. No rigging no vBlock batteries and could move easily and freely. Definitely agree with this added value video! And was even able to grab some photos quickly for some extra value.

    c70 user. I prefer Cinema Cameras bc of the plethora of customizable buttons, built in NDs and 4 tracks of audio (game changer 😭). I mostly shoot doc style work. My next camera will probably be a r5C since i still get photography inquires. the focus peaking is beautiful on it. images are great as well. i shot on an a7sii for years. i dont see myself going back to hybrid as my A Cam.

    I'm still using a modest pair of Fujis for some of these reasons. In particular, the X-T4 is pretty good for switching fast between filming and stills, which I have to do often. I have these also because I do two-camera setups and getting two Fuji cameras was, financially, a manageable path. Someday I'll graduate to a cinema camera, but I will keep these as still cameras.

    Hybrid all day, mirrorless. R7 with the sigma 18-35 is still my content creation machine, just ordered the R8 with the sigma 50 f1,4 as B-cam and more foto related camera. But that’s what works for me, and I just do UA-cam stuff. Would love to see your take on the Panasonic GH9 mark ii. M4/3 but depending on which lens you use really interesting. But for the stuff you shoot the FX3 and the A7II could be a perfect combo. Have a great start into the new week 😊🙏🏻

    • @mb-watches
      @mb-watches 8 місяців тому

      @@Mgpostanything it is a great camera and I was tempted going for it instead of the R8. But it’s nearly 1K more expensive here in Germany and I wanted the R8 as a B-Cam for video and A-Cam for foto. Plus for exhibitions it’s easier to carry around than the R6 mii. I think with the r7 and r8 I have all my needs covered.

  • @r2fx
    @r2fx 7 місяців тому

    I have the same cameras you have - C70 and the R6. I used them both together and the end results are great. I think what you missed in this video is Budget. If the client has the budget, then the client wants that big camera look. Clients don’t know about cameras or gear, they just want big and quality. These cameras to me are situational, and these two are a great combination to work with. This video does cover a lot and you always come correct w information and great experience. It’s a tough topic because people are so opinionated. I always look forward to what you have to say and your content always keeps me inspired. Thanks.

    I still haven’t been brave enough to make the Sony switch, still rockn the R8 Canon super small light weight, handles well with many different scenarios, not always my favorite for low light but I have seen Sony and am not a fan of the color space, just my opinion. Would love to get my hands on that R5C....Still would like to compare the weight and work flow of something lightweight to something more cinematic, but all in time :)

    i think it depends on what your normal set looks like.. if you dont typically have an ac to pull focus, or if you dont need multiple monitors set up for a video village type scenario, or if you dont need to sync timecode on multiple cams, then a cinema camera isnt adding many benefits over mirrorless/dslr

    I've been shooting with my BMCC6K Pro for two years now and have learned that its overkill for some shoots. Like you said, sometimes you just want to pick up and go. Just picked up a Sony FX30 for that very reason. Can shoot raw externally if need be, and shoots 10 bit 4:2:2. Thats more than enough to handle jobs without the hassle of dealing with the 6K.

    A camera is just a box that helps you achieve your dreams. Just about any $2000-$10,000 camera can help you do this if you put in the time and effort. You can go poor looking for the perfect camera or you can take what you have, get the work done and get paid.

    When it comes to log footage, would you say it’s easy to just eyeball it or best to use zebra patterns? I want to start using log footage with my films. Specifically my Wedding films. I make horror movies and do commercial work but for my Wedding films I just feel like the day is so hectic I won’t have time to dial in the exposure Using zebras with log footage because of how quickly everything can change throughout the day. Ive just heard that you may look at it and think it’s exposed properly until you through a rec 709 lut on it and it is actually overexposed

    Blackmagic only offers push or one-touch autofocus. You get focus before you shoot and then if focus changes you need to manually pull focus. It’s great for interviews, but if you are shooting something fast moving like sports it won’t keep focus. I am not sure about the type of autofocus Red uses.

    GH5 but I am actually using it for making movies. Dudes spending all that money on cinema cameras with stills lenses to post on UA-cam is asinine. Cinema cameras are meant for systems of people. The specs aren’t different or much better than a hybrid. Image quality isn’t that much different unless you’re a snob. The average viewer can’t tell you the difference.
