I stayed in a dreadful one in lfracombe, far worse than any other I have ever been to. The whole place hadn't been decorated for years (and I mean many, many years, probably decades!), it smelt of cat urine and it was so scruffy that I kept my clothes in the suit case because I didn't want to risk the wardrobe. The food was substandard and they made guests place orders for their evening meals two days in advance!!! I am a vegetarian, I had told them in advance but I wasn't provided for and was given cheese that wasn't fit to eat. The waiter spilt pudding all over me and what had gone on the floor from the spillage was still on the carpet two days later. I went on a coach tour to it, and it was more expensive than spending a week abroad! There was another one at Ilfracombe that looked worse than that as some of the windows were broken but they were still accepting guests! I think it's sad but it also calls to question whether hotel inspectors are doing their job properly.

This is a bigger room than what me and my partner got and we paid over 300quid
Not a patch on anything on Shepard’s Bush road in London mate,bed bugs mouldy bread for breakfast and off milk for a start

Mrs H ... It's run down with lack of cleaning...The hotel needs more cleaners but Britannia won't pay.. It's so sad cos it's one great hotel... I take my own cleaning stuff even my own toilet brush when staying there.. I've stayed in what I call steerage ... No window & underground.. I did sleep in the bathroom on one stay as the mattress was horrendous... My mate stayed in a room where dogs where allowed, Both her & her dog got bitten..Not sure if it was fleas or bed bugs.. This hotel needs to steam clean mattresses .... But I do love it and it's architecture...

Sorry that place is a dump I know you get what you pay for but it's worth paying more at a better hotel.
The Norfolk Hotel in Birmingham is the worst hotel in The UK!
might have to give it a visit lol
