I'm surprised this song hasn't been used in an NBA promo commercial yet. It's like, tailor made for it. Slow-mo, Steph Curry swishing a 3, crowd goes wild, it's too easy
Charles Jones is an incredible singer. David T. Walker is an incredible guitarist. Respect to Vulfpeck (and Dosik) for hanging back and letting those two have some space.
James Rone Vulfpeck seem to have a wicked knack for never playing too much. They never cloud stuff up and it lets people shine and it makes the whole sound shine. Very clever and beautiful to the ear. Have ya heard Rango II ? So much space and coolness then kicks off. Tis fooking incredible!
This sh*t sounds like it came right out of a time machine, mad props to Joey Dosik for writing this! And Charles Jones for the soulful rendition, this has been my favorite song for a while now and couldn't miss posting this on it's 1 year anniversary today. :o)
We played this at our wedding, our wedding party walked down and that little swoosh towards the end is where I walked in with my dad. This song is one of our favorites ❤️
Every time I hear this song, I'm absolutely floored by Charles Jones singing. Dude's an absolute legend, just like Antwaun Stanley, these guys have amazing voices.
>>Binge-listening to Vulfpeck for the first time >>Has to take a break after this one due to all of the combined feels over the past couple of hours I'm like... tingly all over. o.o
Old School (classical)composition & musicianship is still alive. I literally thought it was dead. This, this the old music music that'll have old people reminiscing about THEIR old schools from their young days.
I keep fearing this song will get old to me after hearing it repeatedly.. but it doesn't. It is a true masterpiece. Thank you Vulfpeck for producing such amazing music.

Easily my favorite song yours! I've been listening to "The Beautiful Game" and when I went over to 20Syl's channel he had this song in one of his favorites. Couldn't refuse it, I now own a second record from your band. So good! SO DAMN GOOD!!
Where do you guys keep finding such talented people to play with. I've been trying to start a local band and their is no one with this type of skill where I live from what i can tell. They have so much soul and it feels so right.
Los Angeles or Nashville. That's why musicians move there, even though the music industry is nowhere what it once was. In AnyCity, USA, you might have a half-dozen truly skilled, say, bassists and they're all occupied by other bands. Go to Nashville or LA and throw a rock, you'll hit a bassist who can fall into a key and keep up. As the old saying goes, "LA is where superstar hometown hero musicians go to get humbled..."
Anyone else thinking of a church choir in the upper balcony with the band during the last minute of a tied game; coach calls time out, one guy sitting on the bench knows he can make the shot, the team looks at him, and then this song starts to play?
This song is awesome. Because of everything y'all said. BUT also because one time in college I was playing basketball in my basketball class for college gym credit, and I was not good, but I was in shape and I played good defense so I was always a started 2-guard. I was basically good for 2-3 buckets and 6-7 bricks per game. But one day... One glorious day, when my hands felt electric, and candles were lit in my eyes, and my feet were feather and flighted... I hit a game winner. Then I HIT ANOTHER ONE the very next game. And I got laid that night. Maybe the best day of my life.
I love you guys so much and wish I could see you guys so bad. Your music honestly speaks to me so much. The sound and feel just makes me happy when tough times come around. It's so great.
I never heard of this group up until that Google commercial "Back Pocket" like maybe last year or something. But then I found this song learned and sings a lot!! My niece who is not versital in music yet, she thinks it's a song that I made up, PS I'm not singer but can sing the fuck out this one Vulf is the Shyt!!👍🏽👍🏽
I can't believe this song hasn't become a huge hit already. The first time I heard this song on Thrill of The Arts album 2 years ago I was expecting by the time I watch it's video it would have billions of views. 2 years later, many people are still unaware a song this great does exist in their time. Regardless, I have this feeling that the future generation will dig this song so probably it would be a classic in the future.
Amazing song!!! I love the swish part... wish they would have made it a bit longer like with a countdown or, the roar of the crowd or, even perhaps...for the game winner!!! ... I'll see myself out, thank you...

That’s what great bands do - it’s about the music, not seeing who’s got the biggest dick. Love ‘em.
I guess they're all just resigned to the fact that you're gonna have a giant dong by default when you play stuff this good.
@@7CRANK7 minimalist funk arrangements are kinda their thing
@@wadball 8 year fan... I kinda know. Cheers though.
Discovering a 10 year back-log of this glorious music was my lockdown highlight.
I think the sound effect at 2:55 is a golf swing, basketball dunk, and tennis serve played all at once.
This makes me feel better
it's like yanny laurel you hear one or the other lol.. i heard a basketball swoosh through the net
It's kind of like the fact that the Law and Order sound is like 1000 monks stomping mixed with a jail cell closing or something like that.

i think this is one of my favorite vulfpeck songs
Listen to the original version, it's really good, I mean reeeeeeaaaaally good
Can you provide a link to it please
lol no
Song is called game winner by joey dosik. Joey has featured a few times in vulfpecks songs. He plays sax in "outro" :)
It's not fast. It's not funky. It does have a whole hell of a lot of soul to it. Fuck you, Ace Boogiie. Fuck you.

It came out of a time machine? No wonder it's one of my favorite songs of all time.
why can't I find anything about Charles Jones on the whole entire internet yet this man should have a full cult following
he has a Twitch channel
He does a lot of work with Scary Pockets, too!
That's part of the beauty of it. Too much fame spoils things. Just enough and they have what they need.
the sound engineering is ASTOUNDING
It inversely correlates to video quality.

Freaking awesome composition by Dosik, and godly vocals by Jones!

I was at the Wednesday show at Teragram. They were fantastic, and the crowd was the best. These guys put on a great show.

Absolute banger/masterpiece. Beautifully sung by Charles Jones with a lovely compliment from David Walker and the Vulfpeck crew.
