i know i'm late but he looks like some weird old dude from the seventies or some shit, i love it. and how his hand went up on that high note was so adorable
I'm relatively sure he's using a similar technique that people trying to make their voice sound female do. It's a raising of the adam's apple and messing with the tone. It's like falsetto mastery type stuff pff.
I was really intrigued by the trombonist for unknown reasons, but I was pretty sure no one else would really pay any attention.. Wrong me, which is cool!
The way I see it, "the band" is only Jack, Woody, Theo, and Joe. Dudes like Antwaun, Joey Dosik, and Cory Wong are part of the extended band; they show up on a lot of songs and are incredible musicians/singer in their own right, but if they couldn't make it out to a vulfpeck show, no big deal.
Isn't it more like a collective? I mean, there is a regular line up, and some other artists who work with them sometimes, but not everytime. There is a Prog-Metal band like that (The Ocean) who now has a regular Line uo but still continue to work with other artists when they release new albums. For me, Vulfpeck is more a collective than a band. :p
I think underrated is the wrong term. Underrated implies that lots of people don't like them, when in reality, they just have a relatively small fanbase that loves them to death
It's rare in this day and age that you come across a singer or group with a truly unique sound, but Vulpeck are in a category of their own. Incredible songwriting, musicianship and playing. Such an utter joy. : )
This actually sounds a LOT like a few other tunes. One being some Zappa, like Inca Roads, or something. "A talk" really sticks out like something Zappa would do. The changing of voices. Look up Napoleon Murphy Brock. I'm hearing that influence.
And, I'm hearing an 80's tune chord change in there. I wanna say Culture Club, but that doesn't seem exactly right. Rick Astley? I'll be thinking about that for awhile.
Woody is totally the George Harrison of the group. His contributions are subtle, yet important, and he composes the best songs. Best song on the album!
I've relistened to this song just for the genius of the trombone solo. As a former trombonist, now bass player, I'm thinking I need to pick up a trombone & learn this line!!
In Iraq, surrounded by terrible people, this band keeps my spirit from dissolving completely! Only place I can find like minded people is in the comments section. :)
I don't know why people don't talk about this part, but the small trombone solo at 2:13 really makes the whole song shine. So much so that it rekindles my love for music when I feel like I have lost it
Hands down my favourite voice to listen to, I wish Antwaun was in every song. But Vulfpeck is the absolute perfect compliment to his voice. Absolutely amazing!
Vulf - I love how open you guys are with your music. You put up tutorials for your own stuff, you clearly answer questions about effects and techniques. It really is a refreshing thing to see, and only further enhances the experience of your music.
Such inspiration for a returning “musician” like myself. This is music. This has so much of what people miss in today’s music. Most people are so used to today’s music with the instant gratification so I feel they don’t have the patience and therefore the “ear” for true music like this. End of the day: y’all rock harder than most metal put out today.
Whenever you hear that little opening Vulf jingle, you know you're about to hear some good shit.
🤘🤩🤘
Where is this jingle coming from? It sounds like an old videogame tune.
@@Jagooon Listen to the Christmas in L.A Instrumental
It's the happiest sound on the planet.
I've been "pavloved" into expecting funk everytime i hear the jingle.
That trombone massages the prostate of my soul. Thank you.
I-
You didn't need to make such a visual comment.
It gives me a sloppy handy.
Mine too! Mine too!
Gives me pink sock 😂
1:43 Antwaun sings "ring the door" and checks out if anybody else noticed :-D
Haha! Nice catch! :)
I DID, I DID! :)
He did it on purpose to check if you were paying attention 😂
I noticed that too :D I wonder if he actually did it on purpose
lol also, in "running away" Dosik sings "gotta badieve" instead of "believe" like twice
Katzman's range kills me every time. How is he so good??
idk man, and is he pointing to tell Antwaun he's flat lol? can't tell what he's doing
i know i'm late but he looks like some weird old dude from the seventies or some shit, i love it. and how his hand went up on that high note was so adorable

He's up in his mask obvs
That funky trombone shuffle is just mmmm daym it's so good
ON REPEAT
Hey everybody, let's do the trombone shuffle, yo
Sassily dancing trombomists are the best trombonists
Yep, she had me wiggling along with her for sure.
It's funny cause it caught my attention too, but I was pretty sure no one else would really care. Wrong me, which is cool.
I was really intrigued by the trombonist for unknown reasons, but I was pretty sure no one else would really pay any attention.. Wrong me, which is cool!
Man, for the love of all that is holy, just add Antwaun to the band! Songs in which he makes an appearance are by far my favorites. Awesome song!
antwaun is in the band ... ??

JOE. DART. ON THE. FEN. DER. BASS.
#1 funkyboy joe DART
That vocal performance tho. Good God!
Elevated Jam Tracks "yeahs" on point!
Sry man, Joe Dart is not the killer on this one : / But the Trombone girl ^^
3:33 so. damn. good.
Seeing Bethanni play trombone I now get why chicks go so crazy for male musicians
The only thing wrong with this song is that the trombone solo is too short! Great job as usual guys!
oh my god these guys are criminally underrated.
nah, i think they like the way it is, and even that they look to keep it like this.
They sold out Madison Square Garden...

Woody Harrison
So true, Underrated comment right here
did aunt leslie kill leone or what happened why do they need to have a word a talk
we need answers
We better not talk about incest, guys
These are the important questions.
Asking the important questions
The voice is of a child whose aunt sold his toy. He uses a deep voice to confront her in the chorus.
I know it's not all about acquiring Fame and recognition, but Antwaun Stanley downright deserves respect
he has a lot of it already
That Trombonist dance at the end... by which i mean the shoulder shake... its dope
Grate song But,
Needs more trombone solos!
The whole world needs more trombone solos lol
I've relistened to this song just for the genius of the trombone solo. As a former trombonist, now bass player, I'm thinking I need to pick up a trombone & learn this line!!
I’m a drummer and I wanna just buy a trombone now
Antwaun Stanley is the glue of this band. Such a great voice. Please keep working together.
Highlight: Theo getting in to the shakers so much it looks like it's hurting him...
He put his soul into those shakers
2:55 Man, that egg modulation.
ファントイネ You mean Egg, the Canterbury-style Prog Jazz trio? Is this a special modulation?
Vulf video on a Sunday! Made my weekend!
I'm starting to like Cory more and more. He's killing that guitar riff! :D
Amen brother!
I love that cascading tinkling bit he does here
Yeah I already liked Cory in the beginning but the subtlety of his playing is really growing more and more on me.
how can you not already love cory!!
Amazing riff!!! It's got that Nile Rodgers vibe and then some!!!
Lol Theo looks like a crazy old man with that light over his head and it's great
I die at 2:55-3:05 almost everytime I listen to this like those runs
n his lil smile after :D
i thought i was the only one! that is hands down my favorite moment
Same! That's the part that gets stuck in my head lol
the most glorious 10 seconds you can experience
Well, just bought myself a trombone to learn during this lockdown. No idea how I'm gonna learn this, but it should be fun finding out.
How did it go
Yee how'd it go?
This is a high concept pitch for the best movie of the century
I always wondered who the hell was playing that trombone (also watching this a day later again her shoulder wiggle is on point)
The fupa lord its one and only but allways in favour of all the fopatroopas in the world
LOVE shoulder wiggle so much on this.
I am also a huge fan of shoulder wiggle lol
Shoulder wiggle is tight af
Came here for the shoulder wiggle.
The chords, the trombone, the vocals, everything about this is incredible.
Hard to believe that this was not shot in the 80's...
Martin Běhůnek it's actually shot on an iPhone
I just found my favourite moment of this video 4 months later: 1:43 - Antwaun's face after he sings "door"(?) instead of "phone."
Is Antwaun human? The world may never know
Yes he is, but his voice is from another world!!!!
Sometimes I wish that owl would just give the kid the damn tootsie-pop
well that sounds racist
@@TheScramblerTV it doesnt
@@TheScramblerTV It only sounds racist if you have that sort of mindset.
Tight and funky as always. More tunes with horns!
Antwaun is an amazing singer. My favorite in a long time. Love the trombone as well.
I love how he's still holding up the lyrics to read while he's singing. No shaming from anyone. You can tell just how comfortable everyone is here.
oh ma gawd antwaun
I keep coming back for Theo and Antwauns' yea-yea-yeahs and oo-oo-oohs
What a nice rhythm Guitar
Cory Wong playing a fender guitar in 4th position, ain't nothing better today

2000 years from now Vulfpeck will be revered and worshipped as a new pantheon.

loving the FULL DISCLOSURE - big ups to RADICAL TRANSPARENCY

Theo's range = absolutely filthy.
My only regret in life is not hearing Vulfpeck sooner.
my vulf boys are back, excited for the animal spirits video!

Using a Leslie speaker for the trombone solo is absolutely brilliant. Love it.
I'm a bassplayer and luv Dart's playing but I totally get the chills from Cory Wong's playing on this track.
The way that Antwaun smiles after 3:05 because he knows it was AMAZING!!!😍💞🥺💝💕❤💛💚💙💜💗😘

It’s better than having 76 tromboners
Would it be weird? Yeah y y y yeah yeah

I think it would be weirder not to have one, or maybe even more than one.
They're all brilliant, but Antwaun (sorry if misspelled) takes them to the next level..

This is just wonderful music. Emotional, funky, melodic, danceable, and most importantly - timeless. Thank you Vulfpeck.
The way he sings the word "overexposed" is the most insanely magnificent melodic line my ears have ever come into contact with.
I really liked this phase when they experimented with Theo singing the upper harmony over Antwaun. I hope we get to hear more of it soon!
