@Righteous210 there's few things more annoying to me now as a Knicks fan than Bill and the other Boston fans who work at the Ringer and their smug superiority about the Celtics and condescending attitude they have towards the Knicks. The smugness is fitting because Boston had the most wins in the NBA this season and in years where the Knicks sucked, I would have been more passive about it. But all I see Boston now is an impediment to us getting a championship, so I'm rooting hard for them to get kicked in the teeth this playoffs and take them down a notch.

The Knicks got Brunson on the deal of a lifetime after the Mavs completely whiffed in 2022, then fleeced a couple of teams at the deadline to get Anunoby and Bogdanovic, and they still have a war chest of draft picks. I’m sorry that Randle got hurt but I by no means feel sorry for the Knicks.

I know that the Pacers have had talks with Pascal Siakim and probably think that they're going to sign him but I'm wondering how he would fit on to the Knicks if they were able to secure him? Even if fully healthy, I don’t know if this team had enough to beat the Celtics in a seven game series. Knicks still have a lot of things to work out:
    1. Randle is gonna be 30 with an ankle injury (last post season) & now the shoulder injury this season. Both required surgery. His minutes next season? His worth?
    2. OG Anunoby wants his bag. 💰 How much and still gotta get the space to add a major piece.
    3. Hartenstein or Mitchell Robinson? I-Hart is a free agent.
    4. Need a back up for Brunson. Knicks can never address the PG position unless they are violating league rules.
    5. Who is the major piece next season? Those assets have an expiration date. 📅 I don’t see teams giving up stars like they used to.

Trading Bridges doesn't make any sense for Brooklyn because they don't control their own picks for several years and thus have no incentive to tank. Adding a pick in the 15-25 range for a couple of years isn't going to make a difference at all. It's simply more valuable for them to try keep him and stay competitive enough to either attract a big name in free agency or until they get to the point where control their own picks and thus have incentive to tank, THEN trade him and commit to the tank. It's a bad situation to be in, but commiting to being a bottom-5 team to gain a mid-first pick is completely illogical

I think Paul George ends up on the Knicks. He still hasn’t signed a contract extension and that Clippers team is going nowhere in the playoffs. He’s the kind of two-way player that would thrive under Thibodeau. Injuries are a concern, but if the Knicks want to swing for the fences for the next 1-2 seasons, PG makes sense.

At this point in his career Anunoby is who he is. I think it's fair to say if you get 60 games out of him you're jumping for joy. Having him at full strength and available for a playoff run will never be a given and can easily derail any playoff run at any time. The Knicks were praised based on early results but the nature of the Anunoby deal was always a huge gamble.

Howard Beck speaks with a confidence that really covers up his consistently bad takes. Guy hates the in-season tournament, and would rather have the Nets’ package of Sun’s picks rather than the Rockets’ package of Nets picks. He even said he’d rather be the Nets than the Pistons or Hornets going forward. To me that’s insane when you consider all the young talent those two teams have and the total lack of young talent in Brooklyn.
Just look at the 10 worst teams in the league. Every single one should be noticeably better next season except for Washington and Portland. A bunch are set to make a Rockets type leap. The Nets…are not. They could easily be a bottom 5 team next year (down from 9th this year). Memphis is definitely passing them. Utah and Toronto probably are. Detroit and Charlotte MIGHT. Brooklyn is in real trouble. They basically have one out: Donovan Mitchell. And it remains to be seen if his New York obsession extends to Brooklyn.
Beck argues they have assets to trade which is why their Suns picks will be better than the Rockets owned Nets picks. 1) If it goes down like that, Phoenix is going to get significantly more assets from trading off Booker and KD than the Nets would Bridges and Thomas. 2) If the nets trade Bridges, they aren’t getting back players that make them better. They’re getting young guys and or picks.
