no matter what forklift video I watch, there's people critiquing his every move. This isn't contest. he never claimed to abide by every rule or do everything completely correct and he didn't say he was the fastest neither. My God. I've driven forklifts and have been around them for years. this guy did good. We all can admit we cut some corners when on the forklift for the sake of going quicker.

true he is a good driver but hes forks are tipt forover when he pick up the pallets, thats wrong. your fork need to be horizantal when you pick up a load/pallet, after picking up you can tip it forover for more stability

Ottoman Empire i thought he was a pretty smooth operator.
Not _quite_ the fastest ive seen, but *very* fluid in his movements. Going from one move to the next without stopping. THATS a good driver imo. And thats how i try to drive. Plan your next moves a few steps ahead.

Drove for Costco on a Crown stand up lift like this for about 15 years….amazing how the lift becomes part of your body…after so long, it all becomes muscle memory. Like walking…you don’t have to think.

Good job! I am a forklift driver as well.. If you need to work fast you gotta drop some of those safety written in the forklift bible, the only thing I see wrong here is not looking back reversing. Technically, you can't drive while your fork is raised, but then again you need to know your forklift's limitation. Just to balance safety /speed and all those shits!

He's a good driver. my only concern is that he's not even looking around him and checking his back while reversing. There are parked cars around so it simply means that a person or two maybe around.

I think the Raymound pacer was a great investment for raymond, in my job i can easily move fast , repeatedly grab skids from racks and safety was a pinch better . Sometimes i even said the pacer can really outgrow the double stand reach, when it comes to speed , grabing pallets in tight spots and safety deadman stops. I test them both out , so far pacer has aways won . Now keep it mind the reach was a great tool but for some reason i felt like it lack alot in the speed department. Could be the model i was using but i know it was one of the latest models .
Also the pacer is great with TF scan technology , lights, becons, etc . Thats my opinion about the pacer vs reach. Both great tools but pacer would be my first choice. Honestly i dont know why most warehouse dont get the pacers over a basic lagre forklift. Some places dont even need the basic forklift with weight isses , which time after time the pacer can pull its weight.

its faster than a reach cause you dont have to reach in and out.The reach comes handy in tighter aisles tho.I drive a raymond reach and I feel they are not always that usefull where I work cause not all aisle are super tight and a pacer would be faster but w/e ,both are great fast machines.

Raymond stand up is mostly made for skinny people. I bet that's why his foot is speaking out. They should invest in Crown stand up which have more ample amount of room for plus sized people.

So lucky to not have an entry sensor, my foot goes anywhere near the entrance on mine at work it comes to a dead stop. Especially annoying going in and out of freezers and coolers where the plastic flaps keep triggering it, and it stops like 5 times before you get past them. Stupid Raymond lifts.

Every model is setup different, depending on what the customer wants . You can easily get a basic pacer or super safety pacer. All big brands have these features. Crown is actually better when it comes to order pickers CP for space and visibility while raymond has faster order pickers with less visibility. See where im going ? Each brand has pros and cons .

I just got a job as a fork lift operator for a water bottling plant. They've thrown me into full production pace and this is my first ever forklift job. I'm only 5 days into my job. They want me to move extremely fast and unsafe in some seriously tight spaces, with 2800+ lbs of totes of water etc.. most nerve racking job I've ever had, and how fast they want me to drive, and whip stuff around at that high a weight just makes me worried for everyone's safety. Idk what I should do, but if any old heads out there could tell me or give me some advice I'd be more then grateful

17 pallets is the height that fits perfectly in a trailer. That's why pallets are usually stacked to 17 at most companies, easy to put them into a trailer when ie trading/sending pallets back, and as all ways in the transport/logistics world, space is money .... Besides, OSHA technically allows stacks up to 15 feet high which is way higher than this. ( but ie the insurance industry and fire agencies recommend stopping at a 6-foot stack ).

He did about 5 things incorrectly that would have violated a certification evaluation and failed him. He's only handling pallets in the video but he has some really bad habits in operating. If those loads were heavy, he'd have a strong chance of having a tipover. He's not more productive by being fast.............just more dangerous.

I agree. In fairness the guy is a terrible operator. No respect for the forklift either ramming it into pallets and all. I wouldn't let him near a toy forklift

"If those loads were heavy" If they were I doubt he'd be operating the exact same way. It all comes down to situation and discretion. You know when you can and can't do things.

@@Hawg.Haggen.Hobbies I've even had forklift instructors say to save time push the truck into the pallets to straighten them, nobody drives a car how they're supposed to so why criticise a guy for driving a forklift how he does?
