- An update on the 62 Imperial Lebaron I saved a few months ago. This is its first drive in two decades!
This is a car from the Jet Age, driven by royalty including the Duke and Duchess of Windsor and the wealthy. Milburn Drysdale from Beverly Hillbillies even had a 62 Lebaron (mine may have even been the one from the show given the registration history), it complete with push button transmission and all the gizmos of the era!
Edit: it has a 413 in my excitement I said 440!
A beautiful vehicle like the Imperial (specially LeBaron) Great to see it rescued and gradually returned to her former glamorous and dazzling Hollywood status. I too day dream. Thanks for sharing the start of your journey.
That is one beautiful car ! It would be a pleasure to clean the whole car, then it will look ten times better. you are a lucky guy.
The chrome looks good. That’s important! Trust me! $$$$$$
Sounds like it runs well. Nice!
I love these, I have owned two. A Custom Coupe and a Crown convertible, both 1962. If circumstances alined I would love another. This time a four door hardtop of any model. I'm smitten.
Glad to see her back running and on the road.... Watching your walk around brought back so many memories of my childhood in that car...... I'll make sure to subscribe and keep an eye on your progress!!!
Thank you! Now we are working through the power windows and locks a/c and the door latches. I have the radio out and getting redone with an aux jack. I can’t wait to get it home and get it cleaned out. Then of course it will painted!
I love this car I had a 62 Crown 2 door and I wish I still owned it but I sold it a long time ago 😢
The engine should be a 413 I believe.
Yes I misspoke in my excitement!
1966 was the first 440.
For me 1962 was the last year most American cars still had tailfins. I and my late father went to the 1962 New York International Auto Show of 1962 at the New York Coliseum at Columbus Circle in Manhattan. 😊
that's a cool car, you are a very lucky guy. enjoy that.
What a travesty! I am glad this classic beauty has found a good home.
Classic
So happy to see this monument to OTT excessive luxury of the era. All time favorite was 61 LEBARON. Fortunately IMPERIAL did not suffer indignity of downsized 62 Plymouth and Dodge ugly styling. The tail lights are a throw back to 56 and maybe 55 IMPERIAL
Someone at church wants to give me one. It’s been in a garage for years. I haven’t seen it yet. I hope it’s not to bad of shape.
A good Comet wash, then some slow gradual machine polish. I use #m Machine polish with light pads. Comes up great. Congratulations on a great Imperial.
