Jungle temple with NO TOURISTS only 200 metres from Angkor Wat! Siem Reap, Cambodia
Вставка
- Опубліковано 4 жов 2024
- Today we take a short walk along the eastern side of Angkor Wat’s moat to find a secret temple hidden in the jungle. Prasat Kapilapura sits in a peaceful site receiving no visitors while 200 metres away, Angkor Wat is heaving with tourists. It’s wonderful to find these quiet and peaceful places where you can still have it all to yourself. Here is a link to the location of Prasat Kapilapura: maps.app.goo.g...

It's so nice to have Jeremy with you this time. It feels more safe and comforting.
He's been to a few temples with me lately! 🐒🦋🌳🌳🌳🌳🙂🙏
Really cool thanks for sharing,,,,peace and happiness 😊😊😊😊😊❤❤❤❤❤❤
Glad you enjoyed it 😊
Jeremy joins me for this trek deep into the jungle. Well, as deep as you can get in 200 metres!
I bet Jeremy was complaining the whole way that the trail went nowhere.. 😕😆
🤣🤣🤣 How did you know?
The timing and variable light shades for this walk were just perfect 👌 it’s just so Amazing to see something from the 10th century 🤩 - Thanks As always ✔️👋😎👍🙏
Glad you enjoyed it! 😉
Beautiful view of massive moat. Peaceful.
Thank you, it's a beautiful area ❤️ 😊
Haha, it ok , looks very good !
Thank you, we enjoyed it very much!
Great walking adventure…
It was a lot of fun except for the spider's web. 🐒🦋🌳🌳🌳🌳🙂🙏
Jungle walks are so nice and quite a bit cooler. With funky gibbons going do do do. T 10:52 hat whole mound probably holds the temple remains
One day I will see a funky gibbon. One day. 🐒🦋🌳🌳🌳🌳🙂🙏
This is the type of place i like to explore.
The hills have eyes!
😀
It was really nice and shady in there. Very pleasant and easy walk. 🐒🦋🌳🌳🌳🌳🙂🙏
As Cambodia i do like to say they alot of temple in the forest 👍 and some of temple is so far away
But hopefully you enjoy it 🇰🇭
Thank to visit Cambodia 🇰🇭
Big thank
We live here now and love it 😀 😍
Have you been to Beng Mealea temple? It's a few Km out of town..but it is so worth the visit.
Not yet, but will ride out that way soon! 🐒🦋🌳🌳🌳🌳🙂🙏
Thank you for this, as always. I really love all your content. After spending a couple of grueling days going up and down "stairs" in the heat with my son in the park (including the dreaded Baphuon temple), I realize I've missed so much. I'll be back. I'll look forward to more posts.
We are on Facebook qnd Instagram as well. Thanks for watching and commenting 😇
C&J, thank you, it was great 👍
Glad you enjoyed it, thanks for watching! 🐒🦋🌳🌳🌳🌳🙂🙏
Thanks for the Tour guys, be careful not to trip. too many Roots out there.
Yes, very easy to trip, but at least there is nobody around to witness it!
I missed that one while there ☹️
I'd say 99.9% of visitors miss this one, so don't feel bad! 🐒🦋🌳🌳🌳🌳🙂🙏
Another Awesome Adventure Thank You🙂❤👍
Glad you enjoyed it, thanks for watching! 🐒🦋🌳🌳🌳🌳🙂🙏
Awesome video guys, just watched a documentary about angkor wat recently and apparently ( i maybe wrong) close by to angkor were hospitals to care of the sick, so thats what those buildings could be? Watching from Ireland n hopefully moving to Cambodia fulltime in sept 🙏🙏
There are some structures that are known to be hospitals, but this one was a temple as far as the records say. It's incredible how much they built in a relatively short period of time. Great that you are making the move soon!
Yeah Angkor watt is a very special place been going to Cambodia for 14 years .love it there . Yeah hopefully be there for good this year ,in the meantime I'll keep watching your videos.great work guys.@@ForRiel
Interesting, thanks for sharing. Have you visited Prasat Neak Pean?
Thanks for watching! Yes, I've been to Neak Poan a few times. There is a video of it in the temples playlist somewhere :)
@ForRiel How funny, I have 3 different spellings for that temple, my Cambodian gf spells it Neak Puan, the US sites spell it Neak Pean, and you spell it Neak Poen. When I visited that site in 2022, it started pouring down rain halfway across the bridge 🤣🤣! Very wet but enjoyable experience
I will have to check this out. I just mived to Siem Reap last week based upon your videos and a quick trip here last month. Im happy to say that it is a wonderful place to stay and i cant wait to explore more of it.
Thanks for making these videos and ahowing us how lovely it is to stay in Cambodia.
Thanks for watching! A lot of people don't enjoy the temple videos as much as the how-to expat kind of videos, but to me, the temples are one of the most wonderful things about living in Siem Reap.
@@ForRiel I found your channle because fo the ex pat videos, but I prefer the wandering ones like this myself. Both videos are great, but I love seeing things I may have never found otherwise.
What a beautiful spot.
Even Jeremy liked it! 🐒🦋🌳🌳🌳🌳🙂🙏
It looks nice but don't talk too loud ,😊 thanks again 👍
I'll try to be quiet! :)
Shhhh!
Sorry! :)
Revisit it during the rainy season. It gets very green back there.
Yes, it would! I bet the foundations of the structures would be full of water, too. I am missing the green months right now.
@@ForRiel and that one ditch you were wondering was dug in the past few years. Not sure why though.
Thank you for sharing your exploration.
Glad you enjoyed it, we had a lot of fun visiting.
Thank you for sharing this. We are coming back in September and hopefully will get to go to some of these places.
Wonderful! There are literally thousands of sites to visit, and finding these hidden gems is a little like a game for me now. 🐒🦋🌳🌳🌳🌳🙂🙏
I love to walk around there too when I visit Angkor Wat. It's so fun and calm. I miss SiemReap again 😢
Yes, it's lovely and quiet around that area. The moat is so peaceful too.
What a wonderful time for exploring! You find the most peaceful places. Have you done a video or visited The Terrace Of The Elephants? There is so much to see in Cambodia. My husband & I can't wait to go!
Thank you so much! Yes, I've been to the Terrace of the Elephants and the Terrace of the Leper King many times. They are great sites but very exposed for video making.
That's an ancient Shiva temple. The lower part of a sivalingam, the yoni is seen 7. 06.
Yes! I noticed that too :)
❤😮😮😊😉😊🤗🤗🤗🤗😇
🐒🦋🌳🌳🌳🌳🙂🙏🐒🦋🌳🌳🌳🌳🙂🙏
Thank you, I'm enjoying your adventures more and more!
Thank you, that's very kind!
Can’t imagine what it is like back then. TY❤
What is a givens looks like? (Misspelling?)
Oh, I was saying gibbon. There are 3 native gibbon species in Cambodia;
- Pileated gibbon (Hylobates pileatus)
- Buff-cheeked gibbon (Nomascus gabriellae)
- Northern-buff cheeked gibbon (Nomascus annamensis)
All three of these species are listed as Endangered on the IUCN red list of threatened species.
Nice!
Away from the main roads here in Phnom Penh, Toul Kork. We have birds in the trees and quiet. Best part of the day before the sun rises.
No inky blackness there ;-)
Jusy dumb people with lots of energy leaving trash :-(
Education is a wonderfull thing.
Yeah, sad to see it just perched there on the ruin. We took it back with us. 🐒🦋🌳🌳🌳🌳🙂🙏
did you buy entrance ticket when visit temple area every time ??
We are very fortunate to have an Angkor Pass. Foreigners who can show two years of long term visas can apply annually for this free pass. It allows access to the Archaeological Park as many times as you like.
@@ForRiel hmm.. it is good.. i dont know.. it would be free... i stayed here since early 2020.. when i visited at 2022.. i am still buy ticket 😮💨😮💨😮💨😮💨
👍👍👍❤️❤️❤️🇰🇭🇰🇭🇰🇭
🐒🦋🌳🌳🌳🌳🙂🙏🐒🦋🌳🌳🌳🌳🙂🙏
Were you already made aware the places you explore are safe and landmine free? Is there a map of sorts that lets u know where u can explore safely?
These places are very safe. The more remote places are the ones where you need to take care. The map of cleared sites is changing all the time, so the only one you can rely on is the list of provinces that have been declared mine-free. At this stage, Siem Reap is not one of them.
I seen you guys in the temple area a few times now, how do you manage it ? $ every time . I know you can get 1 free pass after 2 years residency. Just curious, as I often walk down that way only to always get turned around even though I am not visiting any temples
Yes, we have a temple pass. It's valid for 12 months, but when it expires, you can apply for another. It's a precious gift from the Cambodian government, and I am so grateful for it.
This feels A LOT further than 200 meters!😅
Haha I should have said 200 metres from the corner of Angkor Wat's moat! That's what I meant.
🇰🇭🇺🇸❤️👍 !
🐒🦋🌳🌳🌳🌳🙂🙏
You will in this jungle 😂😂😂
🤣🤣🤣🌴🙏
