  • Unedited footage taken from 1970-1972 during a maternal-child nutrition study in Sui-lin township, Taiwan. The study was directed by biochemist and nutritionist Bacon Chow and supported by U.S. Navy Medical Research Unit 2. The purpose of the study was to investigate the effects of maternal nutrition on the health of offspring.
    Reel 1: February 28, 1970. Footage of Bacon Chow, Janet Hardy and research personnel visiting Sui-lin township; shots of mothers with children; shots of mothers drinking dietary supplement.
    Reel 2: February 28, 1970. A female investigator observes a child's reaction to various objects with mother present.
