    I think that Flebag walking away with the statue after saying goodbye to us was one of the most beautiful moments I've seen in a while. Because not only was she coming to terms with the grief of loosing her mother, but also Boo. There's the theory that when she turns to the camera, it's what she would have said to Boo if she was still there. So by leaving us behind, she's taken another step in moving on and healing.

    the godmother was genuinely an awful person what does the dad see in her, and why does nobody talk about how disgusting she is??

      I do think the godmother is the closest thing the father has to fleabags mom. They were friends after all and she was “there for him”. I am not sure if he fully loves her but I also think he’s scared to be alone

      @@nataliaperez6203Yes! I kept on thinking and came to the conclusion that he really can't (don't wanna) be alone, and she was a close enough proxy to her late dear wife but also distant enough that relationship with her would be "easy", wouldn't hurt him like relationships with his daughter does. Flawed and self absorbed as she is, Step mother's remark was actually right that she actually takes care of the dad in his old days and that takes the plate of having to care for retired father with complicated relationship off of Fleabag and Claire.

    I think Olivia Coleman is so charismatic herself that she accidentally makes it easier for the character of the godmother to fool viewers with her own acting.
    The one that makes me the most angry is fleabag’s father.

      Yes!! he allowed the step mother to mistreat his kids for YEARS, clearly putting her before his own blood. I wish I saw more hate being thrown his way. He's the biggest villian imo

    I had been wondering about the symbolism of the sculpture for a while, thank you!

    In the first 30 seconds of your video you made me realize something that happened in my own life..where I spiraled after a loss and just never recovered quite well after the mistakes or transgressions I did after my loss. This video explained so much about this underlying thing that can be passed over as a viewer of this show. But it made me remember how dad and Fleabag talked about the mom, how it connected to her personality, and the outwardly strange things Stepmom did throughout both seasons. I love this and you.

    Godmother is just like certain real life parents... Absolute shit personality. In the character sense, though, she's well-made and entertaining

      i see what you mean. Maybe fleabag can be selfish and rude sometimes, but i feel like when she is trying to be better, when she is honest and herself (like when she talks to claire about their mom in the cemetery, or in the bar with the businesswoman, or drinking a beer with the priest) she shows a captivating personality. Something about those moments makes you really listen to her and wonder about what it would be like to have a conversation with her.

      she doesn't have to always be a good person and still be charming at times. I mean she talks directly to us, I think shes written to be charming, and almost performative, towards us.

    • @eden22.7
      @eden22.7 8 днів тому +1

      Charming doesn’t always mean polite, or whatever else you think makes her not. Shy people typically aren’t charming, for example.
