Thanks! The 2 minor issues I was having (in video editing) are still there on the m3 max for some reason. There is a boost for exporting times though so that’s nice
This versus your M1 Max? I can get an M1 Max 64/2TB 10/32 cores for $2100 and an M3 Max 36/1TB 14/30 cores for $2750. I don't care about the RAM and storage, since both are plenty coming from 8/256. I have a video editing and programming workflow. Is it worth the extra $650? What are all the differences that you have observed? I can list a few from the top of my head that might be worth to me, like 2 more efficiency cores, 1 more year of updates, Wifi 6E, BT 5.3, but I would like to hear from someone who has used both. What do you suggest?
To be honest I’ve seen very little difference switching from M1 Max to M3 Max. My video editing workflow hasn’t really changed. It might be slightly faster for rendering and exporting but it’s hard to tell. M1 Max is still fantastic and I kinda wish I didn’t upgrade and saved the money. Not sure if your workflow would take advantage of the extra cores. What setup are you coming from/using now?
@kennynunez I have an iMac 2018 with i7 16/512 for video editing and a MacBook Air 2017 with i5 for daily tasks. The iMac is fine at best, but the Macbook is really getting on my nerves lately. Ideally, I'm looking to replace both/keep the iMac as a family computer. What do you think? One more thing to add. The only thing that is swaying me away from the M1 max now is the update situation. Theoretically, the M3 max should get 2 more years of updates, but since the M1 max was launched in late 2021 and we had 2 chip releases in 2023, I think the difference is down to just 1 year (more like the M1 vs M2, instead of M1 vs M3). What do you think will be the situation down the line? How long do you think will each last including security patches? To me, early 2028 is the sweet spot, ie. 4 years from now. Do you think the M3 will be worth it over time by recovering costs in the form of longer support?
@@hypno0784 I believe the M2 Max was originally supposed to come out October of 2022 but it was delayed to January of 2023. It seems they are back on track with October release dates with the m3 max. I wanna say that you should still have 2 extra years of updates with m3 max compared to M1 Max. If you do plan on having this new MacBook for many years then I would say it is worth it to go with m3 max for the extra years of support. You really can’t go wrong with either and you would love them both. You definitely could replace both of your current setups with this M1 Max or m3 max and be really happy with it. Especially if your iMac is starting to bother you. I have a separate display whenever I wanna be at my desk
Great shots, sound and editing. As a fellow "new" UA-camr I'm really pleased to see this. Great work!
Thank you🙏🏼
Great video. Curious to see if the M3 Max improves your workflow, or if you see a noticeable difference in those 1% scenarios.
