Wow so much to be said I got a little emotional hearing y’all discuss Black Muslim History 😂 and there are so many parallels between some old black church traditions and Islam. Ive been blessed to be able to trace my maternal line to the Fulani Muslims of Guinea and the Tuareg of Niger. Listening to the experiences of some of my Muslim family members, it sucks that it’s so much stigma towards specifically African American Muslims (even from African Muslims unfortunately) especially when many of us descend from Muslims who desired to hold their faith.

An auntie at the masjid (I’m not going to say from which country lol) asked me for a phone once. When I said I didn’t have one (cuz I was literally 10) she started talking about Somalis in a disrespectful way. I was so confused 😂😭😭

Regarding prayer while traveling, since Amir said they almost missed Asr, I just wanted to point out that during travel, it is sunnah to combine your prayers. Dhuhr (2 rakah, and then finish) + Asr (2 rakah, and then finish). That way, you can get your Asr prayers done right after Dhuhr, freeing up the rest of your afternoon until Maghrib. Allah makes things so easy for us, Alhamdullilah 💖

I tried to repost and share the news relating to Palestine, Congo, Sudan and Yemen- and have always found something I could post or share about Palestine more than any other place- even when I specifically search for news in other war/conflict zones places.
It is a combination of all the factors you mentioned.
