After careful consideration, I've decided to cover the song "Here's 2 Us" simply because it speaks to me. It reflects what I've been through in many ways, and "here's to us" is a fitting statement for a celebration of how far this channel has come since 2014. Let me know if you'd be interested in listening to it.
Yeah that's the thing, he claims he loves Jade, and maybe he does but at the same time when girls flirts with him he doesn't turn them down, someone else has to do it for him
Yeah and in the first episode (The Pilot episode), when they were doing the alphabetical improv, when Beck and Tori were the last ones still standing on the stage, Tori said "kiss me" to Beck for her turn, the letter K, knowing that he's dating Jade and Becks like "Let's do it" and then they kiss infront of the whole class including Jade. It was like Beck didn't care.
I mean, Cat didn't kiss her boyfriend as Tori did. Even if Jade is rude with Cat sometimes (just like she is with everyone), Jade knows she can trust Cat
I always thought they met at some type of class in directing and Jade was teasing him with all the attention he got, trying to push him away, And Beck would just get intrigued by this and just keep talking to her, teasing her back, showing how he was not leaving, between some romantic moments here and there and probably the shown of Vulnerability between the two (talking about there home lives, Ect) they would end up as the relationship we know
I think people also forget that these characters are *teenagers* and at that age most people's toxic traits are exaggerated by hormones/immaturity. If you look at most highschool relationships they are filled with toxic jealousy.
@@BabyGirlTiny I think I should clarify; my statement was when you're an immature teen that kind of toxicity is expected. You haven't learned how to function in a relationship yet. I was saying they are not bad people for being overly jealous in their teen years and that people are too critical of the relationship, not that their behavior shouldn't be corrected in the future.
Luna I get it, but that’s not an excuse to give it a pass. I’m not saying they’re bad people either, but they’re terrible for each other, teenagers or not, and it shouldn’t be something to overlook just because they are teenagers. They’re also people as well. Think about andres horrible girl. Would you say that that relationship would have been okay just because they’re teenagers?
I will admit I love these two together, but they are toxic together. Jade has a lot of insecurities and trust issues, While beck is too laid back and openly let’s girls flirt with him.
I agree. I was with a girl like Beck and our relationship was so damaging to me, I guess for her it was too. A person who cares so much about every little thing and overthinks everything, feels threatened by anything should never be with someone who doesn't make them feel safe enough to not feel like this anymore. Jade wouldn't act like she acted if she was with someone who doesn't make her feel like she should indeed be insecure
Chikin Kween I hated that happened, I couldn’t watch that episode again because of all that, also they left cat after she passed out, that was horrible.
Everyone says jade is the toxic one but beck let girls touch him stroke his hair and he didn’t stop them.i mean this would make anyone insecure. Also im not saying Jade isn't toxic im just saying beck is as-well
When I was younger I didn't get why Jade were so toxic, I just thought she was an annoying bitch for no reason, and I still think she's a bitch a lot of the time for no reason but when it comes to Beck I can now see why Jade got so upset all the time, Beck "loves" Jade yet he doesn't care or stops any girls from flirting with him and touching him
Let me catch MY son and i would agree with you but... jade was toxic to a lot of people not Just her boyfriend, everytime she has the chance she treated everyonelike trash
You should do a vid on the obvious affair Toris mom is having. She’s always texting her dads friend from work and then deleting the messages when someone asks about it
Grettha lai I don’t know if there’s a compilation of it, but you should see it a lot in the episode where Tori was being driven around by all the other characters.
Monica Creator yea she knew that Freddie likes her and she used him to her advantage. I still love her tho, and they did end up becoming best friends after, but she didn’t have good intentions when she first met him.
Ricky’s Rabbits I get that. I just think she was just a little insecure at the beginning of the show like most young teenage girls are. I feel like it was more of a “he likes me and I don’t have a boyfriend” sorta thing which is actually very common when you’re like 12-14. Doesn’t make it right, but a lot of my friends were like that growing up.
It sucks cause she's controlling to keep him from being unfaithful, but by controlling him he'll do more unfaithful things to overcompensate for his lack of freedom.
Oh yikes I just got that image in my head let me tell u it Tori rubbing beck hard on his chest then jade comes in and says "why are u rubbing my bf" then jade takes beck home and does the dirty work together and jade pushing on him Why did u need to say that im 12 and not my innocence is getting more uninnocent
Yeah, Jade's possessiveness and jealous behavior isn't good but it's definitely more of a dick move for Beck to provoke Jade as much as he does just because he doesn't want a relationship where he and his partner just love each other and don't act like they hate each other more than arachnophobes hate spiders.
Yeah, I think he's really doing it wrong. I understand a relationship without some fighting is unhealthy, but I think Beck should stop doing things to purposely cause fights
But isn’t she always mad at someone besides Beck. I think Beck is just one of the those guys that are just to nice with people but that overly niceness can be harmful if you have a significant other. I can understand why Jade gets mad at him for that.
No. Boys are mostly confused because they don’t know whether they should let them flirt to be nice, or just tell them “I have a girlfriend.” And a girl takes that personally because we feel like they know how we feel, but they really don’t. That’s just my theory though.
Beck lets girls flirt with him because that is better than having someone yelling and screaming at him. Because that's what Jade always does. Because I wouldn't want to be in a relationship with someone that is always toxic because of that. Because I'm more like Beck by letting girls flirt with me.
@@simplyyaeriee320 there is nothing to be confused about. if you have a girlfriend and a other girl flirts with you you tell them you have a girlfriend. It saves her time and you dont come off as leading anoher girl up.
they're so problematic, shes definitely over jealous but he also let girls flirt with him?? like he acts like he cant do anything but he could just say he has a girlfriend, idk their relationship is toxic af
At the karaoke club when that one bitch was flirting he said he had a girlfriend but when she kept flirting he literally just let it happen like "WELP I TRIED"
the one reason why I hate this 'ship' was just mostly the fact that Beck kept having girls flirt with him, but he never stopped it. it seemed like he even incouraged(?) it at some points. he knew how jade felt about it and had jade deal with it (ex. that scene at the karaoke place). it seems like he was 'getting off' to girls flirting with him and getting jade jealous. and it seemed like this reason is why jade acts like this. ex Beck was flirting back with a girl and she was scared to lose him (cause he was her first love). if not with him then with someone else. in all, Beck wasn't good for jade. it seemed like he made her 'doubt herself' and feeling like she had to clam him (screaming that they're dating) everywhere they go. but, a good thing I see here is that the relationship seemed like she stood up for herself more.
Insert_Clever_Name_Here ya but also like that sleepover at sikowitz episode where they try to have a romantic night but Tori's friends interrupt it, like I wanna get into the why she felt the need to have an affair
@@fabledhorse356 I mean she obviously wouldn't want him to know she was cheating and could've just been putting on a facade to lower suspicion. As to why? Maybe they had some issues at one point and she went to his partner to vent or whatever and it went from there.
Yeah has nobody noticed in Driving Tori Crazy, Holly (Tori's mom) was laughing at a message David ( Tori's dad)'s assistant Gary from the police station sent her?
Tori's parents obviously dont really care about her and Trina. Whenever something happens to them, they leave them by themselves. Like when Trina had her surgery, her parents left to go on vacation and then they came back only leave again 5 seconds after they showed up
My opinion~ I really ship Bade, it just works. You can clearly see Beck was super in love with her and Jade loved him a lot too, she just had a different way of showing it. As to why she was so protective, I have three theories 1)she was cheated on (before Beck) 2)one of her parents cheated 3)she has trust issues because of her dad “he’s never kept a single promise” Overall I think they are a good match for each other, they do have some toxic traits but they love each other and are happy together
Adding on to this I agree with pretty much everything you said in this video, Beck loves Jade for who she is . I’d have loved to see Jade’s character written the exact same but a bit kinder to Beck (and only Beck) cuz it would be cute tbh
Sophie Massie you do know people can love each other and “seem perfect for each other” but can STILL be hella toxic. Maybe if they worked on themselves and worked through their own issues THEN dated again that would make them so much better for each other
Lol. no they wouldn't they'd try harder. usually when jade says "hey that's my boyfriend back off" they usually get snarky with jade. jade snaps back then they back off. or they keep trying and belittle and disrespect Jade. like with the Karaoke place for example. The two girls who one of their dad's owned the place, was getting flirty with beck. one time Beck says he has a girlfriend. they say well i don't see her. Jade shows up and says turn around, now you do. they get snarky and one girl says well i ain't seeing much.
@ I mean the point is that the idea that anyone could stop these girls from doing what they wanted to do isn't accurate. Jade could scare them away sometimes, but Beck? Beck is the guy who saw a hot dog wiener in his punch and instead taking it out and throwing it away, he drank the punch. He is incredibly non-confrontational, polite, and tends to resolve conflict either by refusing to fan the flames or by being a bit of a trickster (as with Trina). As much as possible, he just decides the thing isn't bothering him enough for him to change what he's doing. Still, in the scene being referenced, Cat said Beck had a girlfriend *after* Beck literally picked up the girl's hand off his own with forefinger and thumb like it was a piece of garbage. The look on her face says she's getting the message that he's not into her, whereas Cat's announcement only made her rise to the challenge. I'd say Beck had a better read on the situation than Cat.
The thing that I really didn’t like about this show is why they barely expanded on the characters backstories. For example, Jade. I always wondered why she was so mean, and then when they showed her dad and their relationship I just wanted to know more. Same with cats brother and andres grandma. They elude to them, (and even show them in andres grandmothers case), but never went deeper than that. Honestly, looking back on it now, I feel there should be a reboot geared to young adults and adults TV-14 but TV-MA is preferred for me so they can go into deep backstories, tackling themes like abuse, mental illness, and so on, but in a mature way that accurately depicts the characters while still having that comedy aspect. It’ll most likely never happen but alas
id love a tv-ma version and id love for one of the characters to struggle with sexuality or accepting themselves because that can be a really good, strong theme.
dude, I would love that, especially with all the same actors too! It would obviously be hard to do a whole series because of how busy they are, but maybe like a movie?? That would honestly be sick.
@@incrediblekeenan1751 I mean, I could try but I'm not in the mood to write an essay length comment explaining why Jade works as a likeable character. I wouldn't try defending Beck and Jade too much but I can understand where the character of Jade is coming from so I could explain some of what she does. But based on your comment, I assume you clearly don't want to hear it anyway.
"l-l-l-louder" he says, in his monotonous voice lmao I absolutely loved this video! A lot of people forget that Jade has backstory and that she likely wasn't always this bitter and mean. Also... Beck probably doesn't push girls away because he likes when Jade gets all riled up. Awesome look at their relationship. If you're doing a cover, could you do Jade's song... but seriously this time? Lol. And for another upload, do Cat Valentine [this is a broken record, i'm sorry C: ]
I’d be interested in exploring the potential bisexuality of Jade. From jokes like her loving scissoring and tacos. To more subtle and serious things. Like her dynamic with Tori, she’s alway rude yet she sends out flirtatious lines, Tori’s often the first time she comes to in times if need, and while she heavily forbids physical contact from everyone she encourages and initiates it with tori. Also the drama teacher low key really ships it, casting them as husband and wife twice, once just straight up assigning them, and the second time has tori pick her “random” role knowing full well the only part left is jades husband (he even makes them go on a date) idk I find it somewhat interesting but I don’t know if you do. Or weather or not you are queer yourself and therefore would be comfortable talking about it. But there are a few videos exploring it slightly
Tree Gleek I completely agree. And I remember the episode where Jade dumped Beck back in season one where Beck goes, “So I cant be friends with other girls?” And Jade says, “You can be friends with ugly girls.” Yet she always feels so threatened whenever Tori hangs out with Beck. And I’m not stretching things too far because during their date at Nozu Jade clearly said to Tori, “I guess... from certain angles... you’re pretty.” She sounded a little off, not herself. One could perceive that to be that she normally doesn’t give compliments, especially to Tori of all people, but when Tori says it back Jade seems vulnerable almost. I do believe Jade was in love with Beck, but I also believe she had an attraction to Tori which she was burying inside her.
Venari.x I’m not saying it’s a healthy relationship. Jade is terrible to Tori and Tori has also done some not so great to Jade. But there is something unique to the way Jade sees Tori and I’m interested in exploring those motives.
victorious is such a cool show because it shows cat’s mental illness and bad home life, jade and beck’s toxic relationship, jade’s bad childhood, robbie’s depression and insecurities etc.
@@notthemexicanaverage235 it's just another theory that the new grown up fanbase is making on the show since a bunch of stuff flew over head as kids but alot of it make senses
Yea..I think beck, and Tori are really irrelevant, Cat, Robbie, Jade and Trina are the ones with the problems Cat: Probably has bipolar disorder, anxiety, and ADHD Robbie: Is VERY insecure, probably depressed, and is socially awkward. Jade: Probably Anger issues/attitude problem or Borderline personality disorder (BPD) (meaning she could worry about people leaving her and push them away, have explosive anger, find it hard to keep a stable relationship or friendship, and struggle to trust others) and terrible home life Trina: Insecure, and probably has Histrionic personality disorder (which means she basically feels the need to impress everyone or crave attention)
Young God Ammie I feel like it’d actually be totally interesting. Robbie clearly has major insecurity problems, and the fact that every cast member (except maybe Cat) took advantage of him at one point or another is really sad. He clearly never felt great about himself and everyone, especially Tori, promoted his self-deprecating behavior. I also thought it was odd that he was portrayed as whiny and pathetic all the time. The entitled nerd stereotype has been played out a lot, but I don’t think the show writers were self-aware enough to execute it properly. I find it weird that a lot of guys with curly hair are depicted as creepy, pathetic, and slimy. I’ve noticed it across all mediums (for instance Sinjin too, Dan in S6 of GG). Whether this is indicative of some deeper-rooted issue is debatable, but at least for me, when I was a child and saw a kid with curly hair I instantly would be suspicious of them. It’s cause of the stuff I watched.
This show had teenage/adult audience in mind since it was on teen nick after all, the adult jokes and tons of kissing in the show gives that away, even though children watched it when it was still airing.
pls cover tell me that you love me that song is fucking brilliant also loved the video and that "you don't know me" moment was HILLARIOUS and i love victorious too.... and Jade
Ooo nice choice. I will definitely consider it. I will say though, my heart has been leaning closer to doing a cover of Here's 2 Us, simply because it really speaks to me.
Great video. I've always thought that Beck and Jade are the heartbeat of this show. Sure, it's an irregular and often unhealthy heartbeat but it's the only strong heartbeat Victorious has. It was quite a bold move keeping them together for most of the show given that Tori and Beck seemed to be getting pretty heavily teased in the pilot. The route they ended up taking is unconventional for a Nickelodeon sitcom and that makes it all the more interesting and less predictable. Side note: given that Beck's Dad is played by Dan Schneider, I can think of a few reasons he might have wanted to move out...
Heres the thing, Beck can simply get whoever he wants because he is so good looking, im assuming Jade is probably the only girl who puts up a challenge to get her while other girls in the show will just let him in
The problem with this couple is that they never work on their issues. They break up and get back together without ever trying to make it work better this time around. If Beck stopped letting girls flirt with him and that Jade tried to trust him more and be less jealous, it would resolve many of their fights. But since neither of them is willing to try and meet halfway, they'll never stop arguing.
Nah, they’re toxic as hell. Beck literally cheated on her by kissing Tori, knowing how insecure it would make her. He broke up with her for Tori, making the things Jade was so insecure about come true. That shit ain’t okay, and is not how you treat someone you truly love.
THIS! He literally returned with Jade because Tori decided last minute that she didn’t wanted to be with him. They were an incredibly toxic couple but many are apologetic because “oMg ThEir DifFerEnt”
It’s improv. That’s not cheating on. The point of improv is to make it seem as realistic as possible, no matter real life. He didn’t break up with her for tori, he was looking for someone else after they broke up. Nothing about beck insinuated that the sole reason he broke up with (and even then, jade insinuated the break-up, so your point is null and void).
Wow, I think you put that into words perfectly. Beck is so easygoing (not to mention that he rarely intervenes when girls are flirting with him) that I wouldn't be surprised that Jade is possessive. She's unsure if Beck loves her.
@CrookedCasper Beck shouldn’t be willingly let girls flirt with him and does nothing about it, KNOWING that Jade would react badly but he lets it happen anyways. Jade has some issues she needs to work out before getting into a relationship with anyone, especially Beck since he’s not good for her by constantly being involved with other girls without any hesitation. Jade had her faults but at least she knew she wanted this relationship and she loved Beck, Beck constantly changed his mind about if he wanted or stay or not. But I feel like he knew that Jade would never truly leave him which is why he felt like he could get away with all these other girls because of Jade’s insecurities and trust issues. Bottom line, they’re toxic together because Jade wasn’t ready for a relationship because of her trust issues, not understanding of what a healthy relationship is like, etc, and she also wasn’t ready for a relationship with Beck who can’t keep it in his pants whenever other girls are around, knowing Jade will get upset but does it anyways.
So glad to see this relationship analyzed! I feel like guys like Beck stay with girls like Jade because they once grew attached to each other through proximity and the former is too passive to leave. It's a very strange power dynamic that somehow works (until the strong one goes too far), but it feels imbalanced in that one strays through aggressive desire and the other through passive acceptance. It's ultimately up to the passive partner to examine when their feelings have passed and is ready to leave. I have no idea why Beck let other girls flirt with him; something tells me he just liked being the "nice guy." If he was just completely secure in the relationship, he should have communicated his reasons with Jade better. It's just a stupid thing to do. In response to the "Jade hates Tori because she kissed her boyfriend" comments: Jade clearly would have disliked Tori regardless. I think she was envious of Tori's approachable and unassuming nature, which someone as intimidating as Jade was incapable of possessing. She most likely knew deep down that her aggressive personality would end up pushing Beck away someday but didn't know how to be different, which is why girls like Tori threatened her. She probably sensed that Beck would one day go for someone easier to get along with. I just don't think insecurity and dominance is healthy (eg. how so many people bash Ross's possessiveness toward Rachel in "Friends).
Also,I think there’s enough info there to go into Kat’s home life and why she behaves the way she does.If you notice the more Jade and Beck argues with each other in the closet the more panicked she becomes and she begins to say “I’m under my bed” and faints shortly there after....I think it can be interpreted as her coming for an a**sive household (idk if youtube censors comments as well)
CoffeeBean Tori rejected Beck when he was hitting on her and Jade saw it, but she kept being mean to Tori even then, Tori also helped Jade in many occasions for example when she found someone to produce her play and helped her trick the girls from the karaoke episode. But that still wasn’t enough to make Jade treat her better. I think Jade just doesn’t like Tori’s personality, for many reasons and not just because she kissed her boyfriend. First of all, Jade sees Tori as strong competition. Maybe she was always the lead before Tori came, but that changed as soon as Tori was introduced to the picture, because Tori is not afraid to be the center of attentions. Jade also likes attention, but she usually gets it by being mean, talented or weird, Tori however likes to get attention by being talented too but also by playing the damsel in distress, and that annoys Jade probably because she thinks it’s fake but also because she is the kind of girl who has spent most of her life trying to be tough, so when a girl like Tori who is more vulnerable and eager to please seems to be doing as well as her (having the same friends, going to the same school, and even attracting Beck’s attention) she just feels bothered, Tori is a constant reminder that she didn’t have to act as tough to get what she wanted.
I honestly just love these two together. Beck is the only guy who isn’t afraid of jade. He accepts her no matter how she is. He understands her insecurities
After tori said “kiss me” during the alphabetical improv, beck could have said “let’s not”. That way he could have stayed faithful and not fail that exercise.
@@luciasoriano1455 personal boundaries in improv are important, particularly with intimacy. If someone feels uncomfortable doing something like kissing someone or other things that are "intimate", they dont have to. Particularly if they're teenagers
@@Kuaheak2018 yeah i get that, but he’s not gonna risk a grade just by saying he doesn’t want to do it. If he wants to be an actor he’s gonna have to kiss a lot of people. Ofc he could’ve played it another way, but i don’t think it’s entirely his fault.
I also just always loved how familiar they are with each other? And how touchy-feely they are on the slap and when we see them hang out together. It just looks so natural yet sweet, especially since Jade do be yelling at people not to touch her haha (and then she's all cuddly with Beck, which is all just the visuals supporting the whole "she yells at people to not get hurt and let them close, but he stayed anyway"-thing, bless)
Jayniac is that friend who would understand you and be by your side when even your own best friends won't understand you and you're starting to panic that they'll get sick of you and replace you.
YES! I've noticed in *several* episodes that he is the only person that she will listen to direction wise. If Tori tells her to do something, she won't do it, or she'll argue for a long time before saying, "Fine, but I'll only do it because I want to." If Beck tells her to do something, she usually does it, maybe with a little hesitation, but definitely will listen to him differently than she listens to anyone else
You don’t know me is my favorite song. It feels so real for jade and explains why she likes beck. She truly trusts him. Sorta like at the end of the day she knows she can goto him and he will always be able to tell what’s really going on with her.
She's distrusting, possessive, and emotionally abusive. So yes. It's toxic. Only reasons people think it works is because they're hot. That's it. They have less chemistry then Han and Leia (in the films,I know the novels fixed them)
I like that this shows the deeper meaning to the flaws that the characters have because we all know about Jade’s insecurities and the reason for her intensity and toxicity. However we rarely look deeper into beck. The thing about attraction is we are drawn to what is similar, jade’s personality probably reflects the strictness of his household. At the same time I think she give him attention, jade is not only possessive but give him a stubborn attention that he probably didn’t get from his parents as they let him live in their driveway. Now this is why I personally believe this is a toxic relationship, just because a person compliments the aspects you desire does not make them healthy. Sometimes this enables the worst part of your flaws because it is a validation turning into a codependency. This prohibits both characters from the type of growth that they both clearly need. Jade needs to grow to become emotionally secure with herself and be able to rely and open up to the people around her. This can happen from hitting rock bottom like when she started to become friends with tori. Beck needed to grow to not need a relationship when the pair broke up he was still in the dating game instead of having self growth and healthy connections. With that being said that’s kind of the reason I liked Beck and Tori together. It was a lot healthier and beck was liking tori for the right reasons. My problem with the show was the lack of overall character development. Jade could have grown along with Beck to become a healthy relationship. Neither of them changed, jade slowly started to trust tori but she was still abusive, temperamental and possessive. That’s why I think that even though they are a complex couple they are toxic to each other because of their equal enabling of toxicity
They are a great couple that needs couples counseling. They love each other and are actually a great match, despite the bickering. They understand and support one another in many ways, so they have grounds to clean the toxic parts of their relationship
Beck & Jade have that on again off again type of relationship that only works in high school but not in the real world. However, I don't think either of them would be better off with someone else because of how well they balance each other out. They've been around each other for so long that if they broke up for good it'd be hard to find someone else not like the other and stay with them. Alternatively if they found someone similar they'd constantly be comparing the two. While the relationship is toxic, their love is not only genuine and pure but also true. That's what makes them right for each other and nobody else.
Some guys just like a tsundere, but it doesn't change the fact that it's toxic. I think Jade and Beck have been through a lot and so they've formed a very deep connection, but you gotta know when to walk away. Jade is way too controlling and Beck is way too passive--they need to separate and learn to be happy with themselves
It's so true. We get the Jade insight that her dad doesn't approve of her and she feels like he doesn't love her. It's like she's constantly testing Beck to make sure he won't leave her.
I thought the writers were very indecisive about their characters especially when it came to tori jade and beck. I always thought they weren’t sure if they wanted tori and beck to end up together or jade and beck. In the first episode it seemed like they were leaning towards tori and beck and there was some episodes were that relationship still lingered, they almost kissed in season 3, and it was never addressed after that, it was really weird how beck was moving rather quick after the break up. It seemed that the writers changed their minds again and continued beck and jade’s relationship because they rather have tori and jade as friends which is honestly better. But then tori and jade’s friendship doesn’t progress at all, jade could still be sarcastic and witty and her soft side could be shown with tori, and sometimes it does and also with cat but a little more character development wouldn’t hurt lol. And that’s one of the flaws with this show, the characters never seemed to grow or progress and when they do it lasts for one episode and they’re back to their normal selfs by the next.
A lot of people say it's Jade's fault that they broke up in the first place, but put yourself in Jade's shoes, she never had a loving, sweet parents/family, she finds a REALLY cute guy that (says) he wants to go out with her, then he lets girls flirt with him in front of her face, and doesn't say he has a girlfriend to any of them, Jade would just want a boyfriend who loves her for who she is. 5:17 Beck doesn't act like the boyfriend Jade needs at all.
I wish they would make an episode on why Cat went , “What if I just dyed my hair?” in The Blonde Squad. I mean she kissed Robbie on the cheek in The Hambone King, so why didnt she like Robbie after he sang, “I think you’re Swell”???
@@JayniacJr I would also like that... like maybe talking about Beck and whether you think he is possessive of Jade as well. Guys never really flirted with her, but the episode after they got back together, Andre made a comment, and Beck kinda glared at him till he took it back. Also, maybe what you think about their future, how you think they got together in the first place, I would really be interested in hearing about that. Also, I loved your character analysis' about Jade and Beck.
He likes her because she's difficult, but he could absolutely find someone difficult in a different way who has Jade's positive traits like strength, talent, and charisma, but without her possessiveness and tendency to rage. Once they leave high school, she's more than likely to get left when he has better options and she fails to grow out of her bad behavior.
This seems so clear to me now. Everyone keeps telling that they are toxic for each other and I keep denying that they aren't. This proves that there is a reason behind their 'attitudes'. Also.... That is why when Jade and Beck broke up and the episode where Beck and Tori is having a 'Not Date' / 'Friend date'. Jade finally accepted their break up because she finally found a group of people who is willing to not judge her, and accept her for who she is (even though they are still scared of her😂). Jade finally accepted their break up but still Loves the person who was the first one who loved and accepted and appreciated her. This is just my input😅😅😅

Hell yeah!
I hate how in that one karaoke episode when that girl flirted with Beck, he didn't say anything and Cat had to speak up and say "he has a girlfriend"
Julie Bui Exactly. He should’ve spoken up. It made no sense for Cat to have to say something.
Yeah that's the thing, he claims he loves Jade, and maybe he does but at the same time when girls flirts with him he doesn't turn them down, someone else has to do it for him
Exactly why Jade doesn't feel threatened by Cat. She's a true friend.
@Idk Goaway I think the episode was called Freak the Freak Out
Yeah and in the first episode (The Pilot episode), when they were doing the alphabetical improv, when Beck and Tori were the last ones still standing on the stage, Tori said "kiss me" to Beck for her turn, the letter K, knowing that he's dating Jade and Becks like "Let's do it" and then they kiss infront of the whole class including Jade. It was like Beck didn't care.
One girl that Jade doesn't get mad about being somewhat close with Beck is Cat. Because there is no fear there.
Cat is a true friend
I mean, Cat didn't kiss her boyfriend as Tori did. Even if Jade is rude with Cat sometimes (just like she is with everyone), Jade knows she can trust Cat

I wish they did a episode on why and how they got together in the first time since they are so different
I totally agree.
OH TRUE
I never thought about that! How DID they meet?
I always thought they met at some type of class in directing and Jade was teasing him with all the attention he got, trying to push him away, And Beck would just get intrigued by this and just keep talking to her, teasing her back, showing how he was not leaving, between some romantic moments here and there and probably the shown of Vulnerability between the two (talking about there home lives, Ect) they would end up as the relationship we know
Moon_Sun 19 Ikr I wonder how they got together in the first place
I think people also forget that these characters are *teenagers* and at that age most people's toxic traits are exaggerated by hormones/immaturity. If you look at most highschool relationships they are filled with toxic jealousy.
Luna doesn’t mean people shouldn’t take it for what it is.. it’s toxic and unhealthy, doesn’t matter if they’re teenagers or not.
Both valid points!
Luna sometimes they get worse
Luna I get it, but that’s not an excuse to give it a pass. I’m not saying they’re bad people either, but they’re terrible for each other, teenagers or not, and it shouldn’t be something to overlook just because they are teenagers. They’re also people as well. Think about andres horrible girl. Would you say that that relationship would have been okay just because they’re teenagers?
I will admit I love these two together, but they are toxic together. Jade has a lot of insecurities and trust issues, While beck is too laid back and openly let’s girls flirt with him.
Yeah and that scene where she says if he doesn’t come in 10 seconds they’re done.:.thats sooo toxic

Monica Creator yea she knew that Freddie likes her and she used him to her advantage. I still love her tho, and they did end up becoming best friends after, but she didn’t have good intentions when she first met him.
Ricky’s Rabbits I get that. I just think she was just a little insecure at the beginning of the show like most young teenage girls are. it sometimes seems that beck is purposely provoking jade so that she’d get mad at him. since it’s obvious beck thinks a easy relationship is boring.
Also I think jade acts out for no reason at time so I think he does it to give jade a reason to act out
THANK YOU!!
Jade: possessive
Tori: flirts with Beck
Beck: lets girls flirt with him
Not a good combo 😑

This is very true
Okay but can you talk about how Tori's parents probably divorced and all the factors leading up to it
Like the obvious affair her mother was having with her dads cop partner.
As to why she was so protective, I have three theories
1)she was cheated on (before Beck)
2)one of her parents cheated
3)she has trust issues because of her dad “he’s never kept a single promise”
Overall I think they are a good match for each other, they do have some toxic traits but they love each other and are happy together
And having someone as hot as Beck, who all the girls are into must be hard
Adding on to this I agree with pretty much everything you said in this video, Beck loves Jade for who she is . I’d have loved to see Jade’s character written the exact same but a bit kinder to Beck (and only Beck) cuz it would be cute tbh
Sophie Massie you do know people can love each other and “seem perfect for each other” but can STILL be hella toxic. Maybe if they worked on themselves and worked through their own issues THEN dated again that would make them so much better for each other
Sophie Massie I’ve always loved them btw. But there are obvious issues with them and even when i was a child i could see it.
Sophie Massie yikes, so you would rather he continue the circle of toxicity instead of finding someone that works for her
Beck likes the attention bc he knows if he tells the girls to stop and makes it clear he has gf theyll back off!!
What about those two girls in the karaoke club? Didn't they flirt with him after meeting Jade?
They literally know he has a girlfriend. The girls at Hollywood Arts know that, and he never engages them. He just ignores them. 🤷🏾♀️
Lol. no they wouldn't they'd try harder. usually when jade says "hey that's my boyfriend back off"
they usually get snarky with jade. jade snaps back then they back off. or they keep trying and belittle and disrespect Jade.
like with the Karaoke place for example.
He seeks the attention else were because Jade doesn't give him enough.
That’s why I read fan fic. It delves a lot into possible backstory or other stuff the characters could have.
dude, I would love that, especially with all the same actors too! It would obviously be hard to do a whole series because of how busy they are, but maybe like a movie?? That would honestly be sick.

@@incrediblekeenan1751 I mean, I could try but I'm not in the mood to write an essay length comment explaining why Jade works as a likeable character. Acey Michaelis the whole thing was like dramatic poetry reading
I don’t think you should romanticize the relationship Jade has with Tori. Their relationship was very toxic and terrible most of the time
Venari.x I’m not saying it’s a healthy relationship. Jade is terrible to Tori and Tori has also done some not so great to Jade. But there is something unique to the way Jade sees Tori and I’m interested in exploring those motives.

Cat: Probably has bipolar disorder, anxiety, and ADHD
Robbie: Is VERY insecure, probably depressed, and is socially awkward.
Jade: Probably Anger issues/attitude problem or Borderline personality disorder (BPD) (meaning she could worry about people leaving her and push them away, have explosive anger, find it hard to keep a stable relationship or friendship, and struggle to trust others) and terrible home life
Trina: Insecure, and probably has Histrionic personality disorder (which means she basically feels the need to impress everyone or crave attention)

She's hot as hell.
Maybe he respects Jade
Remember that episode he was friends with a socialite or something.
Very well put!
And don’t forget how controlling Jade was too and (possibly) physically abusive. Remember the episode where she threw a rock at Beck?
If you're that insecure, you shouldn't be with that person or any person. Trust is the most important thing in a relationship.
lol, he not broke bc Tori xddd.
The discontinued deep analysis on Beck's RV caught me off guard. 😂

The most toxic relationship that we love
Jade only considers beck, cat and andre as friends, she barely tolerates anyone else

Tori stoled her boyfriend 😌👋.
CoffeeBean No she didn't.
but she also kissed cats and her boyfriend
No, she just KISSED BECK IN FRONT OF HER
Beck was so chill about everything to be honest.
Jade just loved counting! She does it here, in take a hint, when sinjin says she's pretty she goes 3 2 1
When they're alone, they're super sweet. But when there are others, they fight
Yeah that's true they are different
I think jade puts on some whole persona of a mean girl so other people fear her

Hmmm. I'll put this on file.
ITS NOT A SANDWICH!!
@@blackpinkluv9869 but it is a sandwich. it's meat between bread lol
loona my world let me ask you this, is cereal a soup?
@@blackpinkluv9869 yeah why not? cereal can be soup lol
7:56 i thought we were going straight for judhead's iconic "I'm a weirdo"
This made me cry because this made me realize my relationship isn’t toxic we just have our issues.
7:52 i lost myself... 8:30 when you said "harder harder" oh myyyyy I'm deceased.
And the 8:39 l-l-l-l-louder 😂
CAT VALENTINE!!! I have a very similar personality to her and there is smth wrong with me and I wanna learn more
every single character is an exaggerated high school stereotype. if it’s not toxic they’re doing it wrong.
I honestly just love these two together. Beck is the only guy who isn’t afraid of jade. He accepts her no matter how she is. He understands her insecurities
After tori said “kiss me” during the alphabetical improv, beck could have said “let’s not”. That way he could have stayed faithful and not fail that exercise.
i’m late but he couldn’t. The first rule on improv is always say yes, so the show can keep running
@@luciasoriano1455 not all roles are romantic
I also just always loved how familiar they are with each other? And how touchy-feely they are on the slap and when we see them hang out together. It just looks so natural yet sweet, especially since Jade do be yelling at people not to touch her haha (and then she's all cuddly with Beck, which is all just the visuals supporting the whole "she yells at people to not get hurt and let them close, but he stayed anyway"-thing, bless)
Those lyrics were SO DEEP! How did a children’s show even make that and air it?? I’ve never known those were the lyrics either??
Josie Carpenter-Lewis the song was actually written by Elizabeth gillies for jade
Jayniac is that friend who would understand you and be by your side when even your own best friends won't understand you and you're starting to panic that they'll get sick of you and replace you.
I doubt the producers thought about their relationship this much
When you spoke the lyrics you sounded like an edgy teens poetry journal
"Beck isn't afraid of Jade"
Me: Tori isn't afraid of Jade too....
okay the pause of tbe video into the dramatic reading of the lyrics over the b&w image was SO unexpected and it scared the heck outta me
I looked at the thumbnail for this video and I can honestly say “both” is the answer.
notice how you were saying “he’s not afraid of her” but tori isn’t either. tori yells at her, “listen, i’m doing this play, I’M DOING IT.”
She's distrusting, possessive, and emotionally abusive. So yes. It's toxic. Only reasons people think it works is because they're hot. That's it. They have less chemistry then Han and Leia (in the films,I know the novels fixed them)
Well okay, I’ve never seen Jade and Beck sexually assault each other, unlike Han and Leia in that, *cough* *cough* “you want to kiss me scene”...
That’s why I think that even though they are a complex couple they are toxic to each other because of their equal enabling of toxicity
i need more of this analysis, it is amazing
these vids are so good bro please never stop
They are a great couple that needs couples counseling. They love each other and are actually a great match, despite the bickering. They understand and support one another in many ways, so they have grounds to clean the toxic parts of their relationship
A lot of relationships are complicated, I’m glad to see representation for a realistic teen relationship.
the first scene made me cry as a kid😭😭
Can you do a video where you go even deeper on their relationship please! I would really appreciate that, also I subscribed to your channel.
Even deeper? Did you have anything in mind?
@@JayniacJr I would also like that... like maybe talking about Beck and whether you think he is possessive of Jade as well. Guys never really flirted with her, but the episode after they got back together, Andre made a comment, and Beck kinda glared at him till he took it back. Also, maybe what you think about their future, how you think they got together in the first place, I would really be interested in hearing about that. Also, I loved your character analysis' about Jade and Beck.
Do a video about cat first then do a video about carly!
Based on the comments, it really looks like this is what's wanted.
@@JayniacJr It is what's wanted. Please provide us with this 😊
she is SO much like me in a relationship.
They are literally the hottest couple to bless television.
Well put. Couldn't have said it better myself.
