As I said in the video during the part where I show Autoruns, if you start unchecking random services you got no idea what they do then apps will break and so will games, obviously set a restore point so you can go back to anything you did prior, this is a basic simple video which sort of guides you in the right direction its not doing everything for you, you're practically on your own when it comes to stuff I did not show or mention.
The svchost tweak doesn't actually change how much is running in the background, it just combines services into fewer svchost processes. You get a lower process number but it does not help performance.
The SVC Split Threshold splits these processes up for stability reasons so if one crashes all the other ones don't and by grouping more of them together you have a better chance of crashing if one fails cause you are just grouping more processes together and by doing that it may show less processes but has no performance benefit from doing so its just a process number go down so faster fallacy.
@@blu8762 It wont necessarily crash all the time but if one of the processes in the same tree do it can bring the ones grouped with it down that's why they are in so many separate groupings in the first place.
Processes went from 195 to 100-130. Thanks. Could've had a lower background process if i mess with abit more but i just didnt since my new to windows. Thanks
If you have a modern PC, you don't need to do any of these stuff. Most of these processes doesn't effect to your CPU usage at all. If you have very old PC, these can help you a little.
Svc split treshold does nothing btw :) Fyi, if one service in a service host fails, all services in that host will fail. Thats why its split up into more seperate processes. Yes it may show a lot less running processes but yes it can also lead to catastrophic system failures.
I don't recommend changing registry things unless you know what you're doing and also always remember to create a restore point in case something breaks, which is very possible
the fact that the svchost have been increased is because they are dynamically assigned to more cores because once the CPUs had 2 threads and now they have 32
The performance impact would be negligible on anything that has more than 4 cores and more than 16GB of RAM. Also, splitting processes is not just a bug, it's done for stability reasons. Overall, interesting trick, but unless you *really* notice the difference, this isn't something everyone should do.
I made this video to stop getting the ridiculous questions of "how to get lower processes", all in all the processes in Windows you DON'T WANT are the ones that take THE MOST RAM AND MOST SYSTEM USAGE in the background, a big example of that is Defender.

i dont know why i get recommended these but please if you see registry editor in a fps boost guide, trust this with a grain of salt or something. however if you do this, make a restore point or something, dont mess up your system installation over a free game lol, disabling processes isnt going to do much for newer systems anyway. the only things that'll guarantee you a "boost" that'll make a difference is upgrading sadly
