- Electrode placement for foot drop using the SaeboStim Pro. This video talks through how to find the right spot to get ankle dorsiflexion with some eversion and how to make any necessary adjustments if required.
Thank you!
You're the only person that has clearly shown the electrode placement for MS foot drop. I start my therapy in a few hours🧘🏼
Thank you so much!
@@sethy3500 you are very welcome
Thank you for this information, i had surgery on my leg and now recovering i can motion down but not up. I have a foot stimulater but never used the attachment that you're using but now i see they are very beneficial to my recovering process! Thanks alot😊
You are very welcome !
Excellent! Thank you for this.
Thanks for the video - how often should I do electrical stimulation for my foot drop?
Ideally everyday
@@SaeboUK thank you for your help and reply.
Please can you indicate the EMS parameters you are using? wave type, Hz, amplitude...thanks
Wave type is Symmetrical biphasic. Frequency 35hz . Pulse width 350 micro secs. Stim time 9 seconds, rest time 5 seconds. Ramp up and down of 2 seconds . The amplitude is dependent on the strength of muscle contraction you want so will be different for different legs
Just tried and works great.
@@SaeboUKplease add this type of information to your description and include a screen capture of the settings at the end of the video. Thanks
Thanks for sharing? How did you figure out this placement?
@@Take3Roblox it’s a standard placement for tibialis anterior muscle that lifts the foot
is this to simulate the sensoric nerve or motoric ., what are the used values ..
It is for motor stimulation in this video . There is a separate programme and video for sensory .
Values are 35hz frequency, 350 micros secs pulse width, 2 second ramp up and down. Waveform is symmetrical biphasic
THank you so much for this! What settings do you recommend?
@@nunovurbiznis somewhere between 20-40 Hz frequency, about 200-300 pulse width, make sure there is a relax time of at least a few seconds. On our SaeboStim Pro use pre set programme 6
Thank you for this. Is it best to sit with your foot flat on the floor like in the video while doing stim?
There is no best position , you want to have your foot positioned so that it is free and relaxed to move with the Stim.
Thank you 🙏
As someone who knows nothing about anatomy where would i place the electrodes to make my foot lift up and out?
Hi, the electrode placement in this video is for lifting the foot upwards (dorsiflexion ) and turning out (eversion)

If I have little too no feeling from just under my knee to my knee toes, how should this feel?
I was paralyzed due to multiple sclerosis and I twisted my ankle which caused foot drop and over pronation. I never regained full nerve function in my feet but twisting my ankle has made everything a million times worse,
I feel coldness and I can feel the shocks. Is that normal?
The usual sensation is a tingling sensation - a bit like mild pins and needles. This may not be how you feel it if your sensation has been altered.
How often and how many minutes should it be use?
Everyone is different but a starting point is to aim every day and 30 mins . Some users may need to build up to this, some can manage more than 1 session a day
Is it faradic current ?
No, it isn’t. It’s a symmetrical biphasic.
@@SaeboUK feradic current is also biphasic
@@tsering1-1 yes it is. Waveform type is symmetrical biphasic, pulse width js 100-350 micro secs, frequency is 1-125hz.
You can download the product manual with more details at www.saebo.com on the support page
How long 20 minutes?
Most pre set programmes are 30 mins. And you can do it more than once a day. If the muscle fatigues very quickly you may need to build up to this
Is it painful ?
No it’s not painful. It is a tingling sensation
This is a EMS device?
Yes it is .
Which one is anode, which one is cathode
Neither with this device. It doesn’t matter which way round the electrodes go
Do you need to shave your legs to use this?
If there is hair then yes, just where the electrodes are placed. This makes the electrodes stick better and last longer. Use a beard trimmer or nail scissors rather than a razor. A razor creates small micro abrasions which can make the stimulation uncomfortable
Which Part of the world can I found this hospital is important for me. I need the address of this hospital and also a contact person.
Lawrence Sackey this isn’t in a hospital. It is a home video by our Clinical Specialist at Saebo
Just call Physical therapy clinics in your area,
Where did you buy this from🙏
In the UK it is from uk.saebo.com/shop/saebostim-pro/
I have a different stimulator but cannot find placement that actually picks foot up.
HI LINDA,U MUST HAVE SHIT ELECTRODES LIKE VIDEO..I DONT USE FES ANYMORE,,i got turbo extern afo, fits outside shoe and got my life back as they say on utube,,

Its called the SaeboStim Pro. You can contact us for details on ukinfo@saebo.com
I HAVE XFT 2001D FOOT DROP SYSTEM AND WALKAIDE 2,,,,,,BOTH HAVE WIDE PERMANENT STAINLESS ELECTRODES,,NO NEED TO PLAY WITH GEL LIKE VIDEO TO FIND NERVE,,,
Hi, can you share your experience after a year of using XFT 2001D ?
Hi, i work on a project, i am a student. I found a way to detect the moment when i have to excite the muscle but i don t now what tension and intensity i have to use for excitation. Can you give me this information, please?
The intensity will vary with every person. It is the amount you need to turn it up to get the desired amount of muscle contraction
@@SaeboUK also i so that i have to use a frequency between 30-50Hz i so, is it write?
@@sarbudaniel7754 that’s a good range to get a muscle contraction
@@SaeboUK thank you
I thought it should be distal
No, this is a very common placement to get the tibialis anterior muscle that lifts the foot
Thank u!
Wt is the name of the product
Rashmi Vishwanath the SaeboStim One
It’s so damn fiddly to get it under your clothes.
Ideally apply when trousers are rolled up as it is very hard to get accurate placement underneath clothing (arm or leg)
