  • I have 307 hours into this build so far with a few things to do yet! This video is just a quick recap of the entire process! With the added weight of the uhmw bottom and aluminum angle this boat will run 44/45mph! It should be pretty rock resistant with the bottom totally reinforced!

    That has to be the best conversion I have seen so far, what I mean is you welded as much aluminum to the bottom instead of using more of the fiberglass like the others I have seen. This build is insane. I want to see a more indepeth version with all the details. Or do I have to pay for my own? Great job sir.

    great build, cleanest example i've ever seen. I have a bass tracker jet with the 90 hp sport jet, i bought a sport boat with the 120 hp sport jet that i am rebuilding and doing a 90 to 120 swap, have to swap jet drive out too because gearing is different from 90 to the 120. contemplating a similar build to yours but with a 310 hp kawasaki instead

    • @muskie921cp3
      @muskie921cp3  4 роки тому

      That has saved me so many times already! Well worth the extra work and weight! It added around 130 lbs I believe can't remember exactly without looking back. That was with the 3/8 uhmw plastic and the aluminum!

      Hmmm. Yeah with mine being smaller 1668 ModV, we havnt had any slides or impact yet other than when we are off plane. Delaware river PA. But im sure ill find myself in a situation eventually.
      What fastener system did you run on UHMW, just nut/screw?

    • @muskie921cp3
      @muskie921cp3  4 роки тому

      I ripped a bunch of holes in my other boat I built the Green Machine it was a 16/52 that's why I built this one with the plastic on it. I used rivnuts because I didn't want to remove the entire floor. But yes a stainless bolt and nut would work great and probably better/stronger. Although I've hit very hard a handful of times and haven't taken any damages! You can hardly see and scratches in the plastic. I know if I didn't have it I would have been repairing holes!

    Awesome build, great result! If you had to guess, how many mph does the plastic on the bottom rob?
    Say you were building this for the bay or offshore, and didn't need the rock protection, I wonder how much higher if any the top speed were without the plastic? Thx

    • @muskie921cp3
      @muskie921cp3  4 роки тому +1

      It added around 130lbs I don't remember exactly the actual weight but around there. Other than the weight I don't think it slows down the boat any. I believe the boat is around 1800/1900 lbs fully loaded and it will still hit 47 down river! Keep the build light and it should run in the 50's pretty easily!

    • @muskie921cp3
      @muskie921cp3  4 роки тому +1

      It took rock prof two years to get the intake tunnel right from what I heard! He said that it was a million dollars in r&d! I guess why not use what's already proven! If you want to built one of these jet jon boats and weld in an aluminum tunnel check out what the mini jet boat builders are doing. They got lots of aluminum tunnel parts you can buy and it is all well proven stuff, but it is not cheap. If you are going to have a lot of $$ tied up in the build then the cost of a cast jet tunnel and intake might be worth it if you do want to go all aluminum.
