What beautiful soul he was. If you are doubting whether or not watching the full interview, I strongly recommend it, you'll get to know him a bit more and to see how pure, real and full of joy he was. Such a shame he's gone, he had much more to offer, not only in terms of music. Rest In Peace Malcolm.
I always listened to Mac’s music from day one!! Since the day he passed I’ve been obsessed with him. Like more & more I listen to his interviews & music. If ur a fan u just realize wt a musical genius he was. Even in this interview talking about mental health. I miss him so much. I can imagine where he would be in 2023. So much love I hv for him. I feel like I no him personally & it makes me happy & sad. I just appreciate him. Well that’s it R.I.P. Malcolm u r so so missed rest easy ❤❤❤
He used water sounds in a majority of his albums and it was a running joke within his group so he called the album swimming. I’m sure he had intentions to make the album though and it is nice to come back and see him talk about it years before the album comes out. What a legend
@@si.taze10 Jon Brion talks about it in an interview with the New York Times. The album was originally called guidelines but Mac changed it. Brion also said that Ariana Grande is secretly featured in “I can see” on Circles and he had no idea.
This is my absolute favorite interview I have seen of him so far. Like he said at the end, he was chillin. I felt his comfort more than I have on any other interview ❤️ rip, I love you.
Ugh....super hard, one person Speakerboxx/Love Below project....I hope his family will allow more unreleased music to come out. He had literally thousands of songs he was sitting on...dedicated AF....what a magical creature. Love you Mac... 💖♾☯️🙏
There is about 130 or more post humous leaks that are really great. But I know for sure that there is at least 500 or more tracks that are still sitting on a hard drive somewhere. That's all he did was make music man.
@@hunter19877 I know he’s got thousands of unreleased tracks that we’ll never hear unfortunately but that’s true, mac loved to make music and he was amazing at it, dude never had a bad project imo
Your Statement is so true to the point that I have been a Mac Miller fan for years and never really followed his music I was just truly a Mac Miller the person fan. And also to the point that I'm not really the type to really let famous people deaths get to me just not really a fan to that extent but when I heard that he passed it truly broke my heart and I kinda felt like I lost a friend even though I never met the man we lost a good one that is for sure
Mike Barrett - Damn man, I’m glad u took a moment to write what u did cuz I’m a 36 y.o. father, husband and business owner at this stage of my life. Why that’s relevant is because I’ve always been a hip hop head and cannot describe how essential music was to getting me thru the hardest times as tho it was my substitute for lack of parents. I also rarely see anyone mention anything about how despite obvious growth that comes with the natural progression in life, u never really stop being the early 20’s version of urself from an interest standpoint. So when I discovered Mac Miller a few yrs ago my usual progression as a fan seemed to have a greater connection for many reasons. Given my age, the era of MC’s that I grew up on were all about lyrics, word play, r&b collabs, instrumentals etc. and he always seemed to have a bigger desire than most to pay respects to that era and it’s reflected all throughout his music. He had an old soul which is hard to find these days. Secondly, all my own battles, demons, hard lessons and drug use through certain stages of life which were the byproduct of having to raise myself. Always having to figure life out on my own including all the hard lessons u hope to reduce going thru personally by the advice & lessons most parents help u avoid. Yet despite all the things that caused me to grow up a hard, tough, trust nobody type of person, I eventually met my angel of a wife and then going onto have 4 kids allowed me to experience real love that softened me up for the better and allowed me to become a more complete person. Why that’s relevant is because this man seemed comfortable showing the world all the different sides to himself (good & bad) and that we as humans are way too complex to be defined to one category. This was a person I found to be insanely special and had too much to give for him to just leave this world so young w/o getting to the best stages of life that we’re just around the corner. I’ve never emotionally reacted to an artist passing like I did to Malcolm. The closest would be 2-PAC which I still til this day often wonder how much he would have helped shape this world we now live in today. Last week, I literally had 3 consecutive days where I would take a break from working and just watch old videos of him and his music. Everytime I watch the 3-song tiny desk performance which he ended with 2009, the emotions became too overwhelming and couldn’t help but to cry. That song is straight up a beautiful song but it’s also a suicide letter imo or at minimum a cry for help in itself and not to blame anyone as hindsight is 20/20, but just wish someone in his camp could’ve done more. That song describes it all, even down to being “a pro when it comes to his job” which I interpret as a person who knows how to wear that smile and keep up the act of appearing as though everything’s all good when everyday is the biggest struggle just to wanna live with all the pain and voices that depression brings. Sorry this is so long but ur the only other man I’ve seen write anything close to what I’ve been feeling myself. So thank u for expressing that which randomly encouraged me to offer up my own thoughts and struggles with someone I never knew from the next man yet saw his amazing ability to make his fans feels as tho they could connect on a level that made him feel like a friend. R.I.P. Malcolm, to the best friend I never had!

Aye mac! Preciate' the advice mane... true words from a true man. Everybody!!!!! Pick up these gyms this solid white man is dropping. This is real life struggle, and real life pain from a talented, tenacious, torn, and loving white man! Cherish!!!!!
Awesome they mention Larry Lovestien. That is one of the greatest fun/low key serious project Mac ever made. I wish he would've did a little more with that alter ego, especially Larry Fisherman. Run On Sentences vol 1 and 2 are incredible! When I heard ROS vol1 that's when I knew that Mac was legend.

Even tho Mac passed many years younger than Elvis Presley... couldn't help but notice the similar progression of addiction from beginning to end of their careers. Can't imagine how isolating it must feel to have such a unique/revolutionary mind, making it hard to truly connect to "regular" people. Tragic to see the greatest leave us so soon

He's telling us about swimming already. I already watch a few of his interviews. And he used that word almost every interview.
jr 92 17 maybe is that why he called the album swimming

hes been making swimming references throughout most of his projects if you go back and read lyrics lol
