Ecuador's Unique Bus Restaurant Combines Food With Scenery

In the country of Ecuador, there is a famous bus restaurant called Casa 1028. This restaurant gained its reputation among tourists for its unique service of combining gourmet food and scenery together.
As Carnival season draws closer, more sight viewers flood into Ecuador to feel its great passion. The bus restaurant also extended its service time until late night to serve more customers.
The name of the bus restaurant was named after a classic folk tale in Quito, which told a story of a girl killed by a black ox. As the bus moves slowly on the street, the tour guide of the restaurant will tell the folk tale and introduce scenic spots to customers. Customers are free to take photos aboard and enjoy their meals and cocktails. When they arrive at the historic Independence Square, the customers can get off stroll around a bit during the night. When they get back on the bus, the restaurant starts serving the main dishes.
"It's very special to travel around this city. We can appreciate the street views, churches at a slow pace, getting to know Quito, one of the best preserved historic centers in Latin America. At the same time we can try the local refreshments. My boyfriend and I like the Quito soup the best. This is one of the most representative food. It's made with avocados and cheese, which is very special," said Cristina, one customer of Casa 1028.
"I think the design is very thoughtful. It can make sure the food won't spill out when the bus is moving. This makes us feel comfortable and easy," said Laura, another customer.
Although the limited space might not allow chefs to cook aboard, the food ingredients have all been carefully selected and processed.
"All of our dishes are made with fresh ingredients. We start our preparation two hours before the ride. We did not install all cooking facilities for safety reasons. Now these are our special soup in Quito," said Paula, the chef of bus restaurant.
