Very nostalgic to see this. Steve Gould and Dave Kaffinetti of Rare Bird lived with a girl called Spook in the basement at 38 Elm Park Road, Chelsea, when I rented the top flat. Nice people, and As Your Mind Flies By is still a favourite and recommended album. Happy days...

Oh, how I love this record. One of the first songs I ever bought. Reminds me of how lucky some of us are, how greedy and how needy some of us are. Why can't we co-operate, get on with each other, accepting differences, and help where it is needed without thinking about the fast-buck first? Seems like greed gets in the way every time!? One of my all time favourite records. Thanks for the opportunity to comment.

@@conanhayle relax attitude never made a dumb kid on itself. I hope you are not blaming the state of the world on today's kids while the world is still ruled by old greedy cunts.
@@conanhayle I understand what you mean by 'our relaxed attitudes'. You are so right. Each generation models after the previous ones ; if we have been bad examples, the next generation will add to that by pushing a bit more the boundaries set by their parents and society. Teenagers and children's attitude to authority is a response to our legacy. This generation and the previous one are going to make us pay dearly for our lax morals -- it has already started. Adults' selfishness has left them bereft of innocence, ideals, hope and purpose, particularly in the Western culture but other cultures are catching up. Our parents would tell us to obey and if we would not, they knew how get the blood running to our heads for sense to return. They would not relent at their responsibilities to educate their youth in order to save them from themselves. But youth and hippies, at the time, did not know they were naive and that opposite them were standing wolves ready to tear them apart. UNFORTUNATELY, many have been torn apart and destroyed during that Flower power illusion and its slogan "Make love not war". Countless parents have cried the loss of their too-soon gone children. Obviously, the hippies (your generation) do not want to talk about it. Still today, we refuse to believe there are evil forces we do not control that have vowed to 'devour' what is left of the youth. The youth of that era were deceived just like the one of this present age.
That's the problem with aging as we get older we tend to lose track of how much time has passed the hippie generations children are in their late 40s and 50s it's the boomers children that are responsible for the mindset of the kids today not the hippie generation the hippies are in the final stages of life their kids are middle aged just a thought ✌
