marshall dsl40c celestion vintage 30

bought this amp new and gigged it for 5 years, finally swapped the speaker from the stock celestion 70/80 to a vintage 30, with a Gibson les Paul faded
the difference is more noticeable in the room, but I would say the 70/80 is either more scooped or has a lower midrange focus, the bass is kind of flubby and the highs are too bright and can easily get fizzy
I haven't spent much time with the vintage 30 but it seems to have an upper midrange focus which makes the overall sound so much more balanced that the 70/80
I'm pretty happy with the change
