My dad bought a 300SE in exact the same color back in 1992. Same wheel, only short wheel base. I found it back 3 years ago and bought it, but it was far gone. When i picked up the car i let my dad drive it home. He hadn't drove for 3 years. When my dad died a year later, i also sold the car because it was not saveable... Just got me a 1996 S420L a view weeks ago. Waiting to get it registrated
This looks like I remember W140s looking when I was a kid speeding around the streets of Saudi Arabia. So clean. Those were the kings of the road in the 90s. My dad had a 92 500SEL once we moved back to the states. I prefer the look of the early ones but because of the wiring harness issues I would go for a facelifted model
I've gotw140 s, 300sd turbo '93 ;350 turbo diesel again '94 ,...snd to Me My Queen ,..The S500 '95 Al Beautiful ,.. I Love them ! They don't make cars like that anymore ,... since that Mdam B" Merkel & Stupid EU with green 🍏 Bulls... ,now is hard to find parts , ( I' still buing from the Dealer anyting U can get orig OEM ,..) All the New ones are G"....made to last a certain "time / mileages .... They push for this unreliable G EV ..."control "....
Oh Yes ,! I forgot I still have My " 88 w126 560sec Beautiful ( but is in the garage for 10 years since I parked it it'going to need new tires , may be sure tune up ,...also a grea car )
A very nice one in top condition and with sensational low mileage! The colour is amazing. In german it was "Perlmuttgrau". Please take care on this beauty and keep it❤❤❤
Very nice review! They did the electric adjustable inside mirror so its position could be stored in the memory together with the seat, steering wheel and outside mirrors. The later W140's are with water based paint, this one is still with oil based paints which keeps better.

Yes the electrical mirror was also deleted in the facelift models. Because people broke it when trying to adjust by hand

I got 1993 W140 S320, everything works!
Sold MY95 due to wiring degradation, even doing the engine bay loom was not enough - it's everywhere.
Got an MY97 with 722.6, superb.

It’s really just the engine harnesses that degrade. Yours must have been in extreme conditions..
