This definitely was old money in it's day...my granny still has hers champagne color.... I still enjoy driving it but it shines on highway still gets down.......this era of s class was all in the rap videos and best movie scenes....Gone in 60seconds Master P had one
I had one of these I bought it for five grand almost 200 thousand miles on it drove it to 370 it only needed a transmission in wiring harness except a regular maintenance period which was pretty much less in the occur around
4700lbs, $100,000 Well that explains the key demographic Benz was targeting, the banker, closing the driver's side door felt like closing the vault door at work. Or at least brings back fond memories of closing the vault door when you were a peon branch manager who had to lock that heavy ass door every night.
At that price they could’ve got this headlight wipers to work in sync. Every Benz I’ve seen with them are either broken or out of sync. Unforgivable given the price back then and now!
An ideal flagship saloon (sedan) in 2024 should measure 192 in length, 72 in width, 60 in height, 120 in wheelbase, 6 in ground clearance, 3,500 lbs. With a torque converted eight speed automatic or six speed manual option , 4000cc inline six cylinder, optional coupled to a 50 horsepower electric motor.
My dad bought the exact same in 1992... same pearl grey and light grey interior, but it wasn't a 400 but 300. I always wanted to find the car and last week i did... and bought it. It's in really really bad shape and almost impossible to repair sad enough :(
My Dad still has his 94 420SEL. That thing is still solid with 358k! My Mom had a 95 E320 Wagon( We Still Have It Garaged Since She Passed Away) but, We’ve taken so many trips from California to North Carolina in that car. My Dads 2008 S550 on the other hand wasn’t engineered as well as those were.
@@seddam unfortunately no.. my dad past away this year and I had a hard time seeing the S-Class in this terrible state, so I choose to get rid of it. Hard decision but the car was unsafeble. I rather keep the nice memories as it was when I was I kid and my dad was still around
It started out at 13.5 miles per gallon I got it up to nineteen point five. A Little Help from my mechanic George and Val and 1 oz and 1 oz of pure acetone for every 10 gallons. Not 2 oz
Damn speak and text pretty much less than any other car I own the thing that gave me the real problem was the Lorenz or 19 inch rims the tires were just a lot
it just looks rich. dense. no compromise. against the grain design wise. so lovely
Mercedes-Benz made such nice cars back then, what in the world happened to them ?
@@bilalahmed2123 you don't know? Their head designer (an absolute genius) retired around 2000. Their designs went to complete shit after that.
@@bilalahmed2123 Lexus came and undercut them so much they had to change the way they made and sold cars...
@@stepha5926 that explains slot !
@@Saleen5000 that’s sad.

very nice car and review.
i have one since 1993.
but a brand new with head lamp wippers already with malfunction was not a good image :)
The best car ever owned all around
best seats ever.. ever in a car
I had a friend who’s grandmother had this exact car. Same color. Bought new and traded in 2006 for a new lexus. It had 30k miles on it then
Lexus is the closest marque today to what Mercedes were then.

Thank you so much for this video

Never seen where the seat base move independently of the seat back
In what year it was filmed? The front headlight wiper is stuck at top position and the brake dust on wheels just looks horribe...

I used to drive same year but 320 A excellent luxury car but for the city clumsy due to weight and length but good highway cruiser
It’s crazy how far this car has come…$103k for a “clumsy " feeling car.

This is the worst looking generation S-class
Hell no
Whaaat? it looks so badass on 18 inch AMG wheels in black facelifted model (1996-1998).
It's actually the best and the better built one.
I got one and i do agree :)
That's not true sir no way this is one of the best looking s classes to date
