I want to say so much, but I don't know if I am capable of expressing it all. I don't know where to start, but I want to share a little bit about how your beautiful and outstanding AMVs make me feel.
As a student, I am constantly preoccupied with exams, worrying about the future, and seeking happiness. Of course, it is wonderful to learn new things in school (university), meet people from diverse backgrounds, explore new places after exams are over, gain new experiences while working part-time in the summer, and play with my brothers and cat at home. All of these things bring me joy, of course, but to what extent? Numerous thoughts race through my mind, attempting to comprehend the questions rather than seeking answers. While it may appear truly remarkable to be alive, to breathe, to stand on two feet, and to fight for our lives, occasionally I lose sight of these things amidst the routine. The repetitive actions, the same plays performed with the same people and the same scenery, constantly surround me (like Thors' disgust with war). Sometimes, I feel suffocated, restrained, like a puppet playing a predetermined role (like Gudrid, in whom I see myself in the beginning), ignoring the reality of what I truly desire deep within me (like Thorfinn, do I want to live? Yes, but for what purpose precisely?). School, graduation, work, marriage... While I can understand to some extent why some people feel compelled to achieve these well-known/obvious objectives, I find them boring and ill-suited for me.
As a child, I was raised like any other child, to behave well, study well, love and understand (like a bit Canute's childhood). As I matured, many things changed, yet some remained constant. I fear the unknown (like I did as a teenager) but still wonder with curiosity to grasp the meaning of things in life. Some people always expect you to be confident in your future decisions. What do you want to be? How do you want to live? How can I be so sure of myself when I am not an omnipotent being or deity? Like others, I will encounter circumstances influenced by external forces (conditions or whatever the name (God)), and I cannot be certain of the outcome when anything can happen anytime, anywhere (I don't know why I thought of Gardar's attitude assuring his wife that they will be victorious in war but in reality leading them to defeat). While it may seem arrogant, I enjoy placing myself in the characters' shoes and attempting to understand them.
For two weeks straight, while pondering my future, I have been listening to your AMVs. First, I watch them five or six times and then start listening to them, analyzing how you blended different plans, characters, and philosophies into a single video. At school (when I have time), at home (after completing my homework), walking through the streets, wandering from one place to another, I think about the characters, their words (their inner thoughts), the music, the mood, and most importantly, your aesthetically beautiful work. This is a beautiful artwork, a masterpiece for me. I cannot imagine the amount of effort, time, and labor you invested in creating this sublime work. It is not just an anime AMV, not just a stunning cinematic, not just a mere reproduction of a work; it is much more than that. You are presenting us with distinct narratives, interpreting your understanding of the original work, and creating an unknown yet beautiful world that we must explore with care and courage. There are very few people who can achieve this, and it brings me comfort and tranquility. I watch the scenes silently and try to stimulate my imagination. Thanks to you, I have always wanted to learn about the art of editing, and now I am gradually learning (I have found some time). You are an inspirational person to me; your meticulous and detailed work never ceases to amaze me. The small details about each character (their voices), the well-matched transitions, the excellent choice of music that stimulates our brains and emotions - it is like I am living in another world that is undiscovered and full of surprises. I don't know what else to say... I simply wanted to thank you with heartfelt emotions for making me feel 'alive' again. Thank you so much! I am eagerly anticipating your next work, whatever it may be, and I thank you for everything. (I am also eagerly awaiting a work about Hild later on when season 3 is launched, since she is my favorite character.) :)
