For all of Eren's moves and fights in season 4 he already knew he won. He simply had to trust his instincts and he would come to release the Rumbling. Eren already knew he kills the majority of the world through the rumbling as soon as he touched Historia's hand, so anything before that like killing in Liberio or or the bombing on Dhalis Zachary meant nothing to him in comparison. That being said he's still upset if his friends get hurt like Sasha. Even when he he knows he practically reaches Godhood he still can't protect his friends. Eren has a great yet horrible responsibility. Im still not sure what his intentions are. although I have seen possible spoilers so we will see.

I love aot for not making everything so black and white, isayama is a genius, I didn’t know who to root for, everyone had valid points and done some shit in this. On one hand I don’t want all the sacrifices eren made to be in vain but on the other hand, well, genocide. I honestly wouldn’t know what to do in his situation and I don’t think anyone could or would, so any path he takes is morally evil in one way or another with good intentions it’s like he was destined to be the so called devil of paradis. I feel like he took Levi’s words to heart when Levi’s team died, make the choice or decision that leaves you with the least regret, saying that there never was a right answer and he’ll never know. And it did probably leave him with the least regret, he wasn’t going to live anyway, he wanted them to live long lives, and kill all titans, by his death he eradicated titan powers and protected paradis. It states it in the manga that he knew whatever Mika’s a chooses would lead to that outcome. Maybe that just sealed the deal when he saw into the future. To end 2000 years of war. But he underestimated the true enemy, that is human ingenuity, titan or no there will be war after wether it was just 80% wiped out or the rest of the world. But titan warfare was terrifying so it’s genocide or more titan warfare followed by more genocide. It honestly just sucks. But that why I love this anime, it’s so thought provoking, it’s like shoving the question in your face, “what would you do?” I have never seen a clear answer from anyone.

Nah I would argue he did feel somewhat what he did for his close friends for Levi as well. Levi was a mentor to him, stuck his neck out for him constantly, and genuinely cared about him. Also what Eren and the Jaegerists are doing is only going to demonize Paradis/Eldia further, if there are any survivors after The Rumbling, you best bet he has just created extreme hatred and a common goal of eventually ridding the world of Eldia. All Eren is doing is continuing the cycle of violence and hatred. Had he listened to his friends and done a small scale Rumbling and just wiped out military bases, they genuinely could have probably had relative stability and peace and continued to gain Allies, until they would have enough Allies and deterrent to be left alone. Wouldn’t be perfect but there is no perfect in a situation like that. Wiping out 80% of humanity including those who haven’t even heard of Eldians, and Allies like Hizuru, was a terrible and honestly evil decision. To side with him and the Jaegerists, and this is extremely obvious, is literally like siding with Hitler and the Nazi’s. Sure Eren isn’t doing it based on race, sexual orientation, mental disability, non aryan blood like Hitler, but what he’s doing is like it Hitler decided (and it was his end goal) to wipe out everyone that is not German/“Aryan”. I literally do not understand how people do not think deeper than “he’s our protag and some of the world was awful to his people so the entire world deserves to die cuz everyone is the bad guy”. Again, another point Isayama was making is that, being the “good guys” is subjective, Marley thought they were the good guys, yet they were committing atrocities, Paradis thought they were the good guys, yet they committed atrocities as well. Idk it’s just infuriating to me, Isayama isn’t subtle with any of his messaging at all, yet people just somehow miss or willingly disregard all of it, in favor of “the side and the protagonist that I’ve been with are objectively the good guys and what they’re doing is right”, literally becoming the point that Isayama is making.
