    This is one of the outstanding versions I have ever seen.You can really start to understand that when ordering your car the available options are more than what the public knew about.This car is a prime example of that...great video my friend!

    Wow all this Camaro needs is a 4 speed muncie m-22 rock crusher, the solid lift camshaft, mabey a little more gear for dragracing in the 12 bolt, and bump up the compression to 12 to 0ne! I have to take it to the strip and make some money running head's up!!!!

    I remember at the Plymouth Minnesota car show ...must of been in the late 90's...I could have bought a 69 Yenko Camaro for $100,000

    It's a high rear gear, not low !

    • @bhaggen1184
      @bhaggen1184 3 роки тому

      Correct; if the drive gear has fewer teeth than the driven gear it's a low gear; conversely, if the drive gear has MORE teeth than the driven gear it's a high gear

    There were no 450hp 427's in in 67'. Yenko go the 425hp L72, the L72 450hp was a 66' Corvette only option and was identical to the normal L72 in every way. How much power did it really make, perhaps 450 at 5800 rpm. At any rate about 350-60hp in today hp numbers.

      GM Execs got cold feat over public backlash over fear of being perceived as putting too much power in street cars. All the manufacturers had a unwritten rule to never advertise more then 425 hp, no matter how much it actually made (427 2x4 Ford and 421 SD Pontiac's were both well over their ratings) They all played marketing games back then, so they just down rated the L-72 just after production began in 66 in the Vette. They issued a internal recall of sorts, and it is well documented...they just changed the decal on the air cleaner! No other changes were made, so in effect every L-72 is 450 hp. Same thing with the L-78 396 that made 425 hp in 65 full sized cars and the vette the same motor with more restrictive exhaust manifolds ended up in the Chevelle in 66-70 and the Camaro from 67-70 rated at 375 hp. I doubt it lost 50hp in the manifolds! NHRA refactored them at somewhere around 400-410 if I remember correctly.

    they never made a 450 hp 427 they made a 3 2 barrel carb six pack with aluminum heads @435 hp the 425n hp motor was the solid lifter 427 the hydralic cqam was 390 hp the 454 had 465 hp the ls7 solid lifter engine

      The Yenko version was off the COPO 427 and a higher HP than the 435 3x2.

    @BuRn1NgAnUs 6 років тому +1

    That 410hp is probably closer to 510hp, they were underrated from the factory.
