Love that your so specific in your directions and everything you say is true from sleeping on the pins to the kind of hair net and how to start from the crown. Great video and super helpful
Kathy I'm black but my stylist and all of my hair stylist are all Dominican I recently straighten my hair with the blow dryer and the Plancha they put the Doobie on for me while I was in the salon now I have to learn how to do the Dominican style doobie for myself.
Kat: NOW that's a LIE 🤣 Caribbean people Do this....Shit I remember back in the days when I was little my mom, aunts and neighbors used to do this "Dubi" but at the crown you put a BIG roller or a Can of beans 😂 💯💯💯 and I'm from Puerto Rico 🇵🇷 im 39 now ✌
Stop it I’m from Harlem and my sisters and the women in my hood been rocking this styles for over 40 years kardashians will never get credit for this style
Thank you so much for this video. I tried to buy one of those crochet Dubi caps a while ago, but they were all out. The net OMG!!!! Do you know the name brand of this net? Or a specific name for the style? My Mother was a stylist, and I remember when I was little that she she would always roll up ladies hair (sometimes big rollers and she would tie on these nets, they were big and fit over the huge rollers. But I don't know what it is called, they're not just a hair net, that's shaped more like a shower cap.
Another great tutorial, Johanna. I haven't attempted yet to wrap my thick straight hair for any reason, but I've been really interested in trying the wrap method on my bob for sleep. I'm a white woman. What wrap method do you advise your white clients to try? Meaning satin wrap method or net wrap method? Thx in advance for your advice and suggestions xo
Madamhummingbird the satin wrap in my opinion would be too slippery on your hair. Try the net for rollers or a hair net thats elastic which would be tighter. Hope this helps!
This wasn't invented in DR! We were doing this back in the 60's for goodness sakes!!!!! I think the first time I saw how to do it was in Glamor Magazine as a teenager!!!! :O
Deb Cobern oh, Jesus! No, one said it was invented in DR!! Get your panties out of a knot 🙄 she simply said that this is what they call it in DR every country calles it something else. Here is the us is a hair wrap. So relax!!
Been wrapping my hair for a long time but this was probably the most satisfying method I’ve seen😭it’s so smooth
Thank you for the patient explanation. I finally know how to maintain my hair!!

not even a little moisturizer in your hair? It wouldn't look so brittle.
