The federal government has sent billions too Los Angeles for the homeless problem and nothing is ever done; it’s worse. Where did all this money go? The stench from politicians back pockets is overwhelming
🎯 The tax money for the homeless is sitting at the HUD offices being unused. The proof is in the housing voucher leasing rates (how many housing vouchers in any given region are actually being used to house people): Los Angeles emergency vouchers 6%, Oakland 27%, Nevada County 22%, CA 28%, US 38%… The rest of the housing assistance money is just sitting unused! They really should fix the housing assistance programs before going after more taxes. Otherwise it will just be MORE money sitting unused!

BASIC HOUSES in L.A. don't cost over $5 Million, much less $10 Million. I have nice house in L.A. and it's worth $1.3 Million. 4 bedroom, 3 bathroom. 2,700 square feet.

Everything about California is beyond expensive and over price its been that ways for ever California, New York and New York are the beyond the most expensive places in the United States and that's for everything food personal hygiene products, food, utilities, rent etc so why feel some type of way about???
The average price of a house in New York is $720,000 USD. The average house price in Vancouver, B.C., Canada is currently $1.123 Million CDN. Housing prices have dropped over the last year or more, in the Vancouver area, blamed on Covid.
Now, rather than state a bunch of mumbo jumbo, provide some facts rather than just meaningless rhetoric.

Imagine how lower income to mid income people feel when they have to pay half there paycheck on Taxes because the made too much money??? That doesn’t even make since.

Headline from LA Times today, a year after this vid went up, re a nonprofit called Shagri-la Industries which Gavin gave your Mansion Tax $ to: "But instead of creating hundreds of housing units for some of California’s neediest individuals, the projects became mired in financial disarray. Today most sit empty and unfinished."

well mansion tax exists in nyc, the threshold is only $1M!! so that means everything including a studio will be taxed!!!

California doesn't need to throw more money at homelessness. Those people are there because politicians want them there. Politicians make it easy for people to live on the street. You can spend $1 trillion on LA's homeless and nothing will change. Keep making it easy for the country's bums to live in LA and that's what you'll get. This is what voters are choosing so it doesn't really matter what taxes the politicians come up with. Voters and politicians are massive enablers for the homeless.
He's right, everyone will pay for it. Tax you ask the poor to agree to take from the rich is always agreed to , because it's not them paying the price. That's what they think anyway. Of course as prices go up and later all homes are over $5 million it will effect all houses. This is the same way income tax came into effect in the the first place. Voted to tax people who are rich only and that made over $10,000. Of course now even part time on minimum wage is that . The people voting to have other's pay a tax is used by government to trick people a lot. People think the good idea is good if others pay. But it's a game to get everyone . Don't think for a second that wont apply to homes the poor need too. Even if they rent and landlord s have to pay this to get a place to rent out. This is one more reason to not produce rentals in LA. Shortages are what you're really making and what is really causing homelessness.

I‘m okay if the money is actually going to help those people but it’s not. A lot of voters are uninformed and don’t read about the politicians in CA that have been signing off on bills since 2020 and getting caught misappropriating funds. The politicians in California are enabling the most depraved behavior and created a system which keeps people on the street. They keep asking for Fed government for more money, not help people with mental health and drug issues any help and pocketing the bull for themselves. Some of these workers do absolutely nothing at get paid $250,000 while people are dying in the hot sun.

It is LA city, not LA county. Cities like Beverly Hills, Malibu, San Marion are not part of LA city. Majority of rich people in LA actually don’t live in LA city.

If BASIC HOMES cost 5 million in LA, I would not have been living there 😄. My home is a 4 bedroom/2 bathrooms that is worth 1 million (it's in LA). A 5 million home is definitely a nice rich home, not middle class lol

If money could fix the homeless problem it would of been fixed along time ago in California. California on average spent 7 billion dollars last year. That’s about $42,000 per homeless person. (That’s their stats)
