With that in mind, could Lyric work as a composite character with the Bio-Lizard in a retelling/alternate universe? I'm aware this might be skirting fan idea, hell I'm planning on writing some Sonic fanfics, but I wanted to hear your guys' thoughts first.
@BKQA Hey Ian, since you recently answered a question on Batman villains, and you said how you didn’t like how grim dark modern Batman has become, it got me thinking about something. So how would you feel if both Marvel & DC comics both got complete Reboots. Not a semi-reboot where some elements remain, a full on reset. I feel like having some fresh ground would be nice since so many superhero comics now feel afraid to break the status quo. This idea would definitely take a lot of effort to get off the ground though.
Question for Ian: I know that generally speaking when writing for Sonic (or the Sonic universe/characters in general.) you prefer a more 'down to earth' or grounded approach when writing what he's capable of or how powerful he is, and tend to portray him as only around small badnik level, only capable of mach 1 speed at best, or "fall damage can kill me" level; I assume this is why you tend to disagree with the majority of 'powerscaling' takes from passionate Sonic fans, or the notion that Sonic himself has grown stronger throughout the games. So my question for you is; why not take characters like Sonic (who is already meant to be impossibly fast and lowkey kind of OP), and play more into that over-the-top "shonen" or DC/Marvel comic hero aspect of the character in that if he'd let loose with his abilities just a little, he could accomplish so much more? Or at least he doesn't have to just attack enemies with a basic spin dash all the time. The IDW comics also try to explore this idea that Sonic lets his enemies have freedom because he apparently knows that if they act up, he can just solo them all over again. So the comic acknowledges the idea that Sonic is this badass almost Superman-esc figure for his world, who should just be able to handle most crises on the planet single handedly. With that said; Wouldn't it just make more sense to take off the restraints every once and awhile and just let 'rule of cool' do the job? An IDW comic coming out today that even teased the idea that Base Sonic is capable of moving as fast if not faster than light, or Super Sonic being capable of destroying a planet (if he wanted to) with no strings attached would be SUCH easy fanservice, something the comic already has a lot of.

It's hard to go from the mellow drama of SatAM and Sonic X, to edgyness of Shadow the Hedgehog and Sonic 06, and then go to the Y7 cartoon comedy of Sonic Boom and Sonic Prime. I'm not implying any of these are better than others, nor am i saying anything that hasn't already been said. I just want to point out that there's usually a common denominator behind why these questions get asked.
Personally, I think that giving someone a photograph of yourself is a bad idea and a bit embarrassing and childish. It seems more like you are thinking about yourself and that you want that person to see you instead of thinking about what that person likes.

@BKQA Hey Ian, since you recently answered a question on Batman villains, and you said how you didn’t like how grim dark modern Batman has become, it got me thinking about something. So how would you feel if both Marvel & DC comics both got complete Reboots. Not a semi-reboot where some elements remain, a full on reset. I feel like having some fresh ground would be nice since so many superhero comics now feel afraid to break the status quo. This idea would definitely take a lot of effort to get off the ground though.
Question for Ian:
I know that generally speaking when writing for Sonic (or the Sonic universe/characters in general.) you prefer a more 'down to earth' or grounded approach when writing what he's capable of or how powerful he is, and tend to portray him as only around small badnik level, only capable of mach 1 speed at best, or "fall damage can kill me" level; I assume this is why you tend to disagree with the majority of 'powerscaling' takes from passionate Sonic fans, or the notion that Sonic himself has grown stronger throughout the games. So my question for you is; why not take characters like Sonic (who is already meant to be impossibly fast and lowkey kind of OP), and play more into that over-the-top "shonen" or DC/Marvel comic hero aspect of the character in that if he'd let loose with his abilities just a little, he could accomplish so much more? Or at least he doesn't have to just attack enemies with a basic spin dash all the time.
The IDW comics also try to explore this idea that Sonic lets his enemies have freedom because he apparently knows that if they act up, he can just solo them all over again. So the comic acknowledges the idea that Sonic is this badass almost Superman-esc figure for his world, who should just be able to handle most crises on the planet single handedly. With that said; Wouldn't it just make more sense to take off the restraints every once and awhile and just let 'rule of cool' do the job? An IDW comic coming out today that even teased the idea that Base Sonic is capable of moving as fast if not faster than light, or Super Sonic being capable of destroying a planet (if he wanted to) with no strings attached would be SUCH easy fanservice, something the comic already has a lot of.

It's hard to go from the mellow drama of SatAM and Sonic X, to edgyness of Shadow the Hedgehog and Sonic 06, and then go to the Y7 cartoon comedy of Sonic Boom and Sonic Prime.
I'm not implying any of these are better than others, nor am i saying anything that hasn't already been said. I just want to point out that there's usually a common denominator behind why these questions get asked.
Personally, I think that giving someone a photograph of yourself is a bad idea and a bit embarrassing and childish. It seems more like you are thinking about yourself and that you want that person to see you instead of thinking about what that person likes.
