No one ever does. A 12-string on a stand does the job just the same and it's not even really needed on stage.
I quickly went through Led Zeppelin's 1975 set and found the thing is used for 4 tracks, with the 12 string neck being used only in three. These are The Song Remains The Same, Tangerine and Stairway To Heaven. In the first two, the playing is so busy all you can hear is mush. Stairway fares better but it could be played on a 6 string and the difference would not be noticeable.

I ordered one of these myself. Over all, I was pleased. I checked the fret level with a fret rocker and found the 12th fret on the 12 string side slightly high, but not enough to affect playability. On the six string neck, the nut isn't perfectly flush. But again, not to the point of affecting the functionality. If it were an $8000 Gibson, I would have sent it back. But for a doubleneck that comes with a nice case for under $500, it's a really nice, playable guitar. I also replaced the bridge Roswell on the six string neck with a Duncan Designed HB-103 I had in my "spare parts" box (acquired by installing a Seymour Duncan in one of my other guitars), and I think it sounds much better. Now that I've got it, my classic rock cover band is doing a Zeppelin medley. So now I have to lug this behemoth to every practice. Yeah, I know....cry me a river, right? LOL!

Hmm..did you ever wonder why a Gibson is $8k? Likely because it's playable.. real decent nuts, real ebony, decent fret ends, likely level to some degree, real pickups, real pots, switch and jack, quality wire and wiring...but most def that most of the $8k is BECAUSE Gibsons name is on it!! I agree it's a really cool looking guitar but remember with this, if you are REALLY going to use it in a gig situation.. all your upgrades are double.. could be a very pricey Harley Benton by the time you dial it in..and when it's done.. the neck dive lm sure is like no other guitar you have ever played.. l really feel this guitar is more of a novelty.. the couple of Gibson's l have tried like this were not even dialed and needed tweeking! I give you my opinion as food for thought.. sure..if you totally dial it in, EVERYTING from fret job to electronics, 2 nut fittings to 18 tuners, 4 pickups to 2 Tune-o-Matics... you are still WAY ahead of a Gibson! But you would REALLY want to have to PLAY this guitar!

I figured out that if you use a Double Guitar Strap (basically a Guitar version of Accordion Straps) on the Double Neck Guitar, it would help distribute the weight more evnely when it's in playing position. Accordions use 2 shoulder straps to help distribute the weight more evenly, & I wanted to apply this concept to Double Neck Guitar so that more people would enjoy them, even Chris Haskett. Chris Haskett is planning on switching from his Custom PRS 9 Stringer to a brand new Double Neck 12/6 Electric Guitar because he & I both had an Idea that was different & new, that is Accordion Straps on a Double Neck Guitar.

A think a Music Man Jp with piezo that simulate an acoustic guitar would be amazing in this format of 12 + 6. Your Chanel ia great Man. Cheers from Brazil!

One thing leaps out at me right away is the way 12 string D and the G strings travel from tail piece to bridge. To my eyes it appears they are not parallel with the others (most notable at @6:38). Are there tuning issues on those strings? How about staying in tune? Are the D and G strings more troublesome than the others? Tuning and staying in tune are always important, but much more annoying on a 12 string. Good looking guitar at great price. Looking forward to your review!

And how _heavy_ is it ?! I don't mean on a scale from Reo Speedwagon to Death Metal, I mean how much does it weigh ? Weight with and without case would be fun too.

The necks look a bit further apart. A speed winder may fit.
Max Can you see if a manual speed winder can be used

Beautiful. I think it's better looking than the Gibson. Can't wait to hear you play it!

I wish I’d had one of these about 15 years ago when I played Hotel California in a country band. I have an electric 12-string that I used on that tune and a couple of others, but since I was the only guitarist in that band I had to play the solos on the 12-string, and I sang the song too! And lugging both the 12 and my Telecaster in a double gig bag wasn’t easy either. So how much does this Harley-Benton weigh? It sure looks heavy!

When you do a demo can you do a clean tone for both necks? I know you play a lot of metal, but I wanna see how you can get a Page/Felder/Slash clean tone on it

As far as "live" sound, you can get all those sounds and no one is the wiser, and you saved yourself several thousand dollars.

@@CaptainCraigKWMRZ Yeah, you can fool most people playing live but I was asking for my own interest, not other people's. Honestly it's a solid guitar from what I've heard.
