- Michael D Higgins was showing the US president the garden at his official residence when they encountered Misneach, one of the Irish president's dogs.

Misneach immediately began barking as Joe Biden approached, causing him to retreat. Higgins later saw the dog playing in the garden and tried to take him inside, but Misneach snuck back out again.

Pretty strange. Bernese Mountain Dogs are about as friendly and trusting a dog as can be found. And this one obviously has lots and lots of experience being around people. He saw something in the old man he didn't like at all, that stood out as dangerous. I'm with the dog.
