YEA WE KNOW. SO DID YOU WE TINKH... OK....... .
Republic of Ireland is a term used to describe the type of independent state Éire/Ireland is. The Irish president and many presidents have been to the North of Ireland. As a nationalist I’m still very well aware that the north of Ireland is part of the UK so again she’s wrong. It’s the first visit to Great Britain.
No, he made the first STATE visit to the UK, those he made to Northern Ireland were not state visits.
Ireland was part of the UK. You had representation in Westminister. I don't know where the republic idea came from. ?? It must've been foreign.
@@gingerbaker4390 No not foreign. It was the Irish Volunteers, the Irish Citizen Army, and the Irish Republican Brotherhood.
They created Ireland's Proclamation of Independence and the seven men who signed it were all executed and that compelled the Irish people to establish the Irish Republic. The Irish cherish their Proclamation of Independence like the Americans cherish their Declaration of Independence.
And Ireland never wanted to be part of the UK and were forced into it in 1801. And as the Irish Declaration of Independence says (yes there is an Irish Declaration of Independence too) "English rule in Ireland is, and always has been, based upon force, and fraud, and maintained by military occupation against the declared will of the people.".
True. You never anyone say:
Republic of France
Kingdom of Belguim
Federal Republic of Germany
Kingdom of Spain
Republic of Italy

C4, always liked you guys - but - you miss the point this time. The head of state of Ireland just visited and you were more than a touch negative - leg before wicket. You guys should care more! It's important that you do.

Christ when the Queen of England came to Ireland we didnt bring up.everything done to Ireland by the british. We couldn't I suppose it would years I the telling.
When the Queen went to Croke Park in Dublin, BBC News did mention British forces turning up on the pitch and opened fire on the spectators during a football match in 1920.
Let's face it, you people are so obsessed with hanging on to resentment and do not even want reconciliation. It woukd never be good enough and the fact the loudest voices were not even present or alive during the incidents they cite is laughable.
The vile comments made by so many Irish over the events of yesterday make tuay all too clear.
Enjoy your wallowing and bitter hate filled lives whilst the rest of us embrace the future and forgiveness on BOTH sides - a concept strangely alien to Ireland who purport to be religious lol.
London is the city of my birth and Ireland is the country of my ancestry. My 'nationality' encompasses the WHOLE Irish nation and ALL its parts 9anáisiún uile agus gach roinn de). Higgins' presidency does NOT extent to the northeast corner of Ireland, only to part of the country that was formerly known as the Irish Free State.

Pity Brexit has ruined this relationship between Ireland and the UK
Get a grip
True. Ireland quickly set up a trade deal with France after the Brexit referendum. New shipping routes were established between Ireland and mainland Europe so the Irish truckers can avoid driving via the UK. And the Irish government is having the size of Rosslare port doubled.
It hasn't ruined it, just made it a bit more difficult.
Now, Im irish so of course i hate england, but i love the country itself.
As an Englishman, I have no hard feelings for Ireland and actually have a lot of love for it. I'm pretty insulted by your blind hatred for my country 😞

John 3:16-21
16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. 17 For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved. 18 He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God. 19 And this is the condemnation, that light is come into the world, and men loved darkness rather than light, because their deeds were evil. 20 For every one that doeth evil hateth the light, neither cometh to the light, lest his deeds should be reproved. 21 But he that doeth truth cometh to the light, that his deeds may be made manifest, that they are wrought in God.

Lovely to see the 2nd First Minister of Ireland visiting her majesty. Yes, Ireland will be forever British long live the Monarchy and down with republicanism
Stop talking bullshit,Ireland all thirty two counties of it is Irish, there are in the six north eastern counties foreign planters who don't consider themselves Irish but bow the knee to a foreign English monarch, the clock is ticking on them as they are fast becoming a tiny minority on the island of Ireland.
I was wondering when I would see a comment from a British extremist...
No, he is the President of Ireland. When Ireland became a republic, the president replaced the monarchy as head of state.
Long live republicanism and down with the monarchy.
