- It's hard to believe, but this is car wash video #100! And I just so happened to accidentally stumble on a really rare car wash to celebrate the occasion! Not only is this the first Nu-Star system I've found, but it's the almost unheard of variant with a bizarre mitter curtain instead of a top brush. I looked around everywhere for a video or even a photo of one of these and came up empty. Thankfully SF Car Wash Channel and Car Wash Studios were able to identify it (thanks again, guys!). It was a very unique system and definitely one of the most fun ones I've come across in quite some time. To make things more interesting, the wash appeared to malfunction at the end of the cycle, meaning I had to leave while the stop light was still illuminated.

2. Yeah, I was disappointed it was broken. Would have been only my second Autec. And I've driven by quite a few times since this was taken (I'm down here on business; have to pass it on my way to work every day) and it's still in the same condition. My guess is that it's been broken for a long time and the owner has no intention of fixing it.
3. Awesome! That explains why I couldn't find any photos/videos anywhere. As a side note - the Memphis suburbs are LOADED with Nu-Star Soft Touch Plus systems, but this is the only one I've seen with a friction curtain.

I have been looking for a video of one of these for quite awhile. NuStar machines are quite rare, and the variant with the mitter is one of the rarest machines that is currently in production.
Glad you enjoyed! Suburban Memphis seems to be loaded with Nu-Star equipment for some reason.

There is an Istobal carwash in Fredericksburg that appears to be very rare. The same car wash had an Oasis Typhoon, but the bay was converted to a car shop.

@@chaoszombie9995 If you think that’s rare, go visit a Storm Touchless. There are only 3 of them in the world. One in Colorado, one in Wyoming, and one in my hometown.

I'm going to take a wild guess here, and say, when the person behind you put in their money, it confused the system, reset it, and was getting ready for them. Just a guess
You should check out the buckeye car wash on Ontario Ohio it’s awesome well was when it opened last year it’s quality definitely went down in the past year but the color of the soap and there’s a projection that projects onto your windshield and the lights that show it’s like rebirth man you have to check it out lol there’s soap waterfalls and everything

Thanks! For car washes, I use a GoPro Hero4 Session as the dash cam and a Sony CX430V handheld.

The Elevator Channel annual trip to Mexico? Or Business?
This one's a domestic trip to a familiar destination. But it's at night, and involves 2 very cool aircraft. You a McDonnell Douglas fan? :) I have quite a few other trips, business and personal, backlogged after that. I try to release one every month or 2.
Not sure if I'm going to bother filming the annual Ixtapa trip early next year. I've done it many times. Only difference this year is that United upguaged STL-IAH and IAH-ZIH to E175s instead of ERJ-145s.
The Elevator Channel im more of a Bombardier fan since im canadian and so are they. MD is neat too. I Would like to see the Ixtapa trip since you've only filmed 1 trip on the E175. Maybe try going to Cancun. Im going in november
YYJPilot 6590 Can't say I'm a huge fan of the CRJ series, but I love the Dash 8 family and can't wait to experience the CS-100 when Delta (and hopefully other US carriers) start getting them. Also, I actually have 2 reports now (Burbank and St Maarten) that feature E175s, and one of my upcoming reports will too. If I do Ixtapa, I'll probably film in the ZIH-STL direction this time.

Yeah. I'm still in the area and keep checking it when I drive by, but no luck. My guess would be that it hasn't worked in a long time, and the owner has no intention of fixing it. There are actually a lot of closed car washes around here. Mostly at gas stations.
