I promise you, if I had this teacher as a kid, it could have drastically changed my entire future, I probably wouldn’t be 29 without a degree. Teachers like this are golden. He makes me want to go back to college
You saved my life. I'm really banging my head on my desk trying to study for my test in the morning, struggling to understand and this video helped so much. BLESS YOU!
They still respond to him when they solve the problem without taking him for a joke , he makes them understand how to separate jokes from learning. Brilliant!
To be honest, this channel have changed my perspective or basically my mindset in Math. I always think that Math is not easy and fun when I was a kid, but when I became a hs student and have discovered this channel, my perspective have change and now, Math is one of my favorite subject. math is so eassyyyyy! Love Math! Yey Math!
@yaymath WHAT SCHOOL DO YOU WORK AT SO I COULD TRANSFER THERE?! seriously though, you're a great teacher, your students are really lucky (: thank you so much for posting your lessons
I'm now in college and haven't taken math for a few years and need to pass a math exam to be a teacher (yay!!) and your videos are helping me remember so much! I hope to bring as much enthusiasm into my classroom as you do!
Thank you, my daughter was about to give up on maths. She watched a couple of your videos and said " I learn't more in these than this whole year of maths"
Your videos help we with the struggle of my life that is math. You make it fun and interesting. Thank you! Your awsome. Smh if only more teachers were more like you..
I regret taking Accelerated math because I would probably learn so much more in a regular class. Accelerated classes just rush everything and I should've known I wasn't ready for it. I'm glad I have the internet as a resource and I am especially grateful for the work you do.
Yaymath has been my professor since high school and now college! I am now in Differential Equations and everything that I learned previously is now coming back! Thank you yaymath for your inspiring and motivational math videos! I also chanted with you and the class at the beginning of the lesson! YAY MATH!!
Thank you for your entire YayMath concepts and series of videos here! Your lectures and equations are awesome. This yaymath is the only reason I have passed all 3 of my math College Courses thus far. THank you, and since this is old? Where are you now?
I must say I have REALLY been struggling with this whole factoring concept. I have an exam the day after tomorrow and felt like I was doomed to fail. You and another guy named Cool Math Guy have both helped me really hone my factoring skills. I truly appreciate this video and will definitely watch more of your videos whenever I am struggling again. Thanks a lot!
i watched this with my lil brother and ended up finishing the rest of the lesson alone lol! you are an amazing teacher. i always dreamed of being a teacher and this makes me feel so inspired to pursue it.
I am super glad I found your videos!!! I was one that student that scream out the answer in a heart beat. And made good grades in math. But after 6 years of not being in school. Not I am back to trying remember my basics in order to succeed in college Algebra. You are an amazing teacher!!!!
This guy is great, I wish I had a teacher like you because I really need someone that makes me less anxious and hateful over math :P This was also great because almost all the questions your students had, I was thinking and it was nice to answer questions with the class and hear their input too.
I thought this video was from 2005 until I heard a kid say "BRUUH" I really cut it close taking algebra 2 in 2014, because if I had to take it any other year I wouldn't get this much help.
I was absent for like a whole week due to having the flu, and my teacher never explained 'Solving Polynomial Equations' to me after I returned. This video, I feel, has explained this subject really well. Also, why does this video say Algebra 2 on it? I am in Algebra 1 and we have been working on this in class.
I'm doing this kind of math in Algebra 1, so you really helped me out. No one in my class is getting it and I could recommend this to them since it's so straight forward and fun to watch. Thanks! :D
my math teacher celebrity crush :) (i've got many catagories ;)) I tell my students, if they forget what I said in class to look you up. Saves me the time of making my own videos! Thanks for sharing!!
Wish you were my math teacher. Thanks so much for the help. You explain things perfectly, not to mention you are so fun and nice :) Keep up the good work :)
taking grade 12 math this year haven't done it in 14 years. i am horrible at math but you make it easy. awesome teaching skills man. you've helped me a ton already.
Excellent class, please keep the video's coming they are incredibly helpful and encouraging to see math taught in a simple understandable way....for once....
Hi Ilan! Thank you so much for reaching out. I'm thrilled to know that Yay Math has been of service to your students. Please feel free to contact me about anything you need.
I'm failing algebra. Nobody will ever help me understand it I can't even. Seriously into the 4th week of school and I'm failing. Ughhhhhhhhhh I don't get it!!!!!!
I love your videos!! You make math so much better by explaining in ways everyone can understand.. I am taking College Algebra with review because I haven’t taken a math class since 2010. It just seems like the instructor is just throwing stuff out there and expecting us to be able to understand it. Our homework is different from what we do in class. Glad I have these videos to watch!!!
wow i would like to say that you're an amazing math teacher. My math teacher talks way too fast and writes fast, so I can't really understand what he is doing. And i am afraid of asking him questions because he looks at me funny, so I just stay quiet. And for most of my tests i fail because I just don't understand what he is teaching but you're making math more easier for me to understand. Thanks :)
thank you so much man, i cant even count how many times your videos have saved my butt for a quiz or test... i miss school a lot due to a non stopping illness... #yaymath
Where does the i come into play when solving? I have to teach myself algebra 2 in order to take a placement exam for computer science so perhaps I missed an initial video but any answer would be killer!
i=√-1 you use it when you have the square root of a negative number. For example when they had √-9 it is the same thing as (√-1)(√9) and because √-1=i it is i√9 which is 3i (sorry if this is hard to understand or a bit late)
Hi Robert: First thing is my name is Dora but I go by Dorie, I just love watching your math recording this was the second time that I have watched your class for algebra. Right now I am taking college algebra on line my college is in Utah Salt Lake City no I do not live there I live in Iowa do you know where that is? Iowa born and lived here almost all of my life years. I just want to say I love how you teach everyone that is taking algebra in college or out of college, how you explain and show how to do the math problems that you are doing for the time that you are be recorded for everyone to watch. I had taken per algebra in my home town college passed it, but the reg algebra is about the same just different rules for the problems be working on. You make the recording very interesting to come and keep watching you and your classes that are being recording that you are showing how to solve all algebra problems. I just love how your students get right into the problems and answer each question you have put up on the white board for everyone to see how to get the answer for the problems. There are some of the other recording that I have watch they were not as good or great as your's recording are that I have watched so far on here in YAY MATH. For my class I am going to let my teacher about your recording and my class mates as well yes you will be seeing me more coming in to get notes taken for my homework, and one more thing I like to let you know the first recording that I watched love your dance in that one. And the one that I just got done watching love the hat and your hair do very cool and last one I was trying to say your last name is it Greek or are you have Greek or Italian in your blood line? No there is no problem about where your ancestors came from we all have some kind of ancestors I have about four blood lines that I came from on my mom side never knew the person that helped make me he left my mom before I was even born To me its his lost not mine. but this is what I was told that we have Scott Irish and Pennsylvanian dutch that was my grandma the dutch I think the Scotties was from her or my granddad not to sure on that one. any way its been fun watching you in your recording hope you keep up with them and good luck to you with your students too. take care and happy new years. best wishes Dorie Maxwell. dlmaxwe30@gmail.com
I used to hate math going to school but I was good at it, I graduated 4yrs ago (Jamaica) but now I'm about to migrate to the u.s and was advised that it'd be best to do the SAT's for University, problem is I did some practice test and I realized I don't remember anything, so now i have to be refreshing my memory on everything, even the topics that I did love.. but my biggest problem is anything that has to do with graphing, wether solving the equation or graphing it.
Ok so I get everything but the last factor at 20:00, why is it -3 and +9? What if I wrote -9, +3? How do I know which one is positive and which one is negative?
MageAtYou you want to get to 3ax-15a if you factorise it you'll get 3a (x-5)and this is because you analysed what 15 can be broken down into ie 15x1 3x5 and since we found a 3 we take it out of the brackets
Great video and inspiring teaching ! One thing I found amusing is the differences between the US (I'm assuming) and France (where I teach) : my students would know to factor (x²-3) into (x-sqrt3)(x+sqrt3) because we don't really emphasize "perfect squares" the way you do, but they've never heard of complex numbers and to them, x²+9=0 has no solutions. Just thought I'd share !
@LAUSD Los Angeles Unified School District, we need more teachers like this! I attend a community college and this man like other youtube math teachers puts them all to shame. I am a hard worker and an A student but the quality of the math teachers in our school district is terrible.
I'm going to need more explanation at 8:51 because I could draw a square that looks like x^2 + 9 but I can't imagine drawing a negative square ...unless you look at the squares in a situation where like Blue Boxes and Red Boxes exist and they each represent either neg/pos but then that means I could still factor both, no? Wow this guy makes math feel so easy I wish my math teacher was like this
@12:50 where did you get the i from??
+Muhammed Hassan Square root of a negative is not a real number, so the i denotes that. So square root of -4 would be plus or minus 2i for instance.
You are a great teacher.
hello How do you solve (v+3.5) (v+2)
clear explaining, thanks
Thanks your a great teacher 🤓👌👌
I'm going to need more explanation at 8:51 because I could draw a square that looks like x^2 + 9 but I can't imagine drawing a negative square ...unless you look at the squares in a situation where like Blue Boxes and Red Boxes exist and they each represent either neg/pos but then that means I could still factor both, no?
If not, then
The " - 81" piece of the problem then suggests only negative squares have true value in "real life application".
Thanks so much. For making maths a fun learning subject
I love your way of teaching I always get 100 because of you.love you
how do you address the issue that the multiplication or division is prioritized over addition or sibtraction when you go from step 2 to step 3 "x(y+z)+h(y+z) into (x+h)(y+z) while they are bound by the rule that multiplication has to be done first?
