If you had numbered these in the [Seneca: Of Providence - (+Summary)] title it would be easier to watch in order without missing any, and you would get more views.
I've spoken too soon. These are not only well read, they're well edited. The text flowing through the video during the reading creates comprehension. I feel very fortunate to have found these today.
@@VoxStoica I can state I found them by researching for an audiobook about Marcus's meditations. From there I have been listening to so many more. I appreciate you.
@@VoxStoica I was recommended by YT after watching something similar. Pretty new to this kind of thing. Really well read. So a simple thank you from a simple chap.
Oh yes this is glorious!! "Despise poverty : no man lives as poor as he was born Despise pain : either it will cease or you will cease Despise death : it either ends you or it takes you elsewhere Despise fortune : God has given her no weapon that can reach the mind " "God is beyond suffering evil, you are above it."
Thank you, for providing such great narrations of men of great thought for free. They have imparted wise words upon me, that are worth more than gold... I pray the creator and lady fortune smile upon you with all your future endeavours...
Thank you for Morning Routine and all of your videos. Excellent presentations. I always seem to hear what I need at exactly the right time. This is Determinism in action. AMOR FATI
Hey boss, just wanted to let you know thanks for giving us an alternative option to patreon for how to support you, I really appreciate it. If I ever catch a few extra bucks, I'll make sure to pay my dues and throw some your way.
Omg I feel like the guy who looked inside the briefcase in "Pulpfiction" I've seen the unseeable, known the unknowable and the release date was Valentine's Day! The world has forever changed, To know the face of the man behind the voice that runs on endless loop in the background of my life.
I know I'm picking at minutiae, but I find it interesting how Seneca changes back and forth from speaking of "God" to "the gods". Any case, I learned some new and usual things from listening to this.
"You are a great man; but how am I to know it, if fortune gives you no opportunity of showing your virtue?" (IV, 23:43) "for you are mistaken if you suppose that any one is exempt from misfortune: he who has long prospered will have his share some day;"
1. Providence is only prevents evil if everything is done morally 2. Short-term pain may bring long term benefits 3. Encounter with suffering brings virtue 4. Real good is virtue 5. Don’t let others tell you what to do
@@VoxStoica i see! I wish you success in your efforts as i have 3 of senecas books and to hear them spoken is a refreshing change of narrative. You caught me off guard with the book of five rings. As a teen the east was my go to and as a adult the west became my favourite. Thank you again for your efforts.
Xeronimo74 alt right? What a joke. Sargon has repeatedly debated with the “alt right,” which was what he was doing when he was kicked off of patreon. Alt right has become a catch-all boogie man term used to paint anyone out of step with social justice even in a small way. It is intellectually dishonest in the extreme.
Your very awesome cat, read to perfection. But it will take some time to put your face to your read words. For i in minds eye have pictured you with at least white hair long and beard the same, a white toga trimmed in gold Roman trim. Lol for real though. For long time, and many hours you have shared. Thanks for that time given. Again your awesome, you rock, and you are wise, but not the old man in my head. God day and show Sir thanks "daN"

Thanks for the feedback, resonanyfrequency. May I ask how you found them, did UA-cam recommend them to you?

Have you worked for games workshop? You sound familiar through their audiobooks. I am a big fan!
Well it's not me, but I just had a listen to a few of them and they're well narrated so I'll take it as a compliment!

Why SubscribeStar and not Patreon?
Xeronimo74 probably because patreon does not follow their own TOS and can’t be trusted
@@TheNateWalking how do you mean?
Xeronimo74 look up the patreon purge by Sargon of Akkad on UA-cam
@@TheNateWalking lol, so this channel is alt-right at its heart too? Sad.

By Jove, this Seneca would be able to sell freezers to Eskimos and persuade them that they needed them!
Thank you
