About Magik: Orchis may have targeted Magik due to her mutant teleportation powers and turned off her x-gene but SHE IS STILL HAS MAGIC ! She should still be able to cast spells.
I was thinking that too.
I think she's still just dazed and not used to not being able to access her magic, tho I'm still confused ab where her sword is at - like to my knowledge that had nothing to do w her powers and she should be able to call it right?
@@unixmoon4842 Her sword is tied to her magic, not her mutant powers. So even if her x-gene is turned off, she should still have her magic and her sword.
Magik is that girl! I wish that had more projects with her specifically. Fascinating character.
@@saturncrushi think the exact same thing, lots of untapped potential, it's a real shame that her only animated role is still just "that one little girl who had to be saved by Colossus in one episode of the 90s show"
So curse is kinda like DC Zetana. As she speaks action backwards creating a variety of magical effects. Plus can alter people’s memories.
Really appreciate that you cover these x books in great detail and with context.
Magik is an incredibly underused character , she has so much potential , she doesn’t have parts of her soul , has turned to a partially hellish creature to survive hell , and STILL chooses to be good , they can have a poetic and epic storyline for her
Don't let this rare moment of kindness distract you from the fact that Curse became an Eco-Terrorist and killed people for fun

I'm like 70% certain Magik is gonna turn out to be the chaos they reference here in the prophecy, also on saturnyne, i went through the whole book wondering why there was a second emma frost cus like shes the first and only thing that comes to mind when white is mentioned in an X book
Saturnyne was called "the White Witch" in a x-book early in the Krakoan era, back when Excalibur first started and not taken Avalon yet. I think it was Morgana who called her that.
i think they mean magik especially with destiny's vision showing magik in a demonic form right after fall of x
Sounds like, now that Scarlet Witch has definitively become magical, Curse is the new mutant probability controller.

Curse is like Jinx from the Teen Titans cartoon but a bit more interesting. I actually like that her power has consequences if used for positive outcomes. Op powers with a cost or twist to them really adds depth.

Love that Curse is getting some coverage, Dust too. I wonder if they're gonna tie the Otherworld with the Arrako war. Saturnyne is definitely gonna try for some get backs at some point, and it would be interesting to see if Curse can jinx Isca.
It might be an interesting development of Saturnyne since her conflict with Merlin/Arthur and conflicts going on in Otherworld plus with Genisis civil war on Arakko, will Genisis revive her conflict with taking control of Otherworld?

How curse is being used here is going to be interesting as well as how saturnine is being handled.
It sounds like curse has the same power as Wiccan, but it seems to cause her pain when she uses it. I dont know much about curse, but I kinda wanna read more about her.

I'm an old school Claremont and Alan Davis era Excalibur reader. I'm a Saturnyne fan from the eighties! She's mercurial and contains her chaos in a way that makes her the opposite of Emma Frost's ultra stoic personality.
She's actually a doppelganger of the banker Courtney Ross, the White Queen of the London branch of the Hellfire Club. Being a rich blonde is apparently a requisite for taking the title of White Queen.
I'm of the opinion that the rulers of Otherworld are somehow the blueprint for Earth's Hellfire Club.
Jamie Braddock is the current Black King. Morgan LeFaye is the Black Queen. Since Arthur and Merlyn's roles are up for debate, Mad Jim Jaspers is who I'd imagine as White King. With, of course, her Royal Whyness, Saturnyne, as White Queen.

Some thing strange just hit me, I see Marrow's future with Gambit, wow I actually see something good for Gambit and I see marriage,children ,grandchildren. At first Rogue will have a hard time with it, but we all know Rogue for her perseverance!
Orchis most likely targeted Magik not specifically for her ability to teleport but for her ability to teleport through space and time. Ilyanna could literally go back before the attack at the Gala happened and potentially prevent it. Isn't it curious how none of the writers touch on this ability of Magiks? Back in the New Mutants haydays we had whole major storylines based on this very power that she has. Spanning past , present, and future.
I have to agree with you on this one brother , Curse is a mfkn problem. They need to drop her off at Orchis front door and let the chips fall where they may. I'm still shuddering from her cursing Xavier at the Gala Massacre as she didn't understand why he was sending all the mutants away.
Lol I love Emma Frost’s night job aka her winuss Aka the white witch aka saturnyne! I never thought of her as bad or evil but more as someone who has every intent of reclaiming her lost power and the starlight citadel and she will not rest until she has what is rightfully hers (as she sees it)

1. Your coverage of this story made me really hope for an eventual mentorship storyline for Scarlet Witch and Curse. Both seemed unfairly predisposed for evil, by the nature of their reality-warp-based powersets (SW: derived from Chthon/darkhold; Curse: requiring a negative consequence upon power activation); yet both have the drive to try and use their gifts for good. I think that mentorship pairing could be really therapeutic for both characters.
2. All of the dnd references in your content are very cool. Do you ever plan on incorporating any dnd content into the “Blerd Got Game”-channel. It would be interesting to see the Blerd perspective in the dnd space, whether it be in the form of informative/analytical content based on dnd lure or podcast-styled/critical-role-esque game sessions.
That reminds me: Pixie, Amelia vought, Lila Cheney, blink, gateway. Where were they?
Yeah, I got into comics through Academy X scans when I was in uni. And, for me, I liked her relationships with Laura and Jay. I also liked how she was both the heart of the team and was awarded with the second highest body count.
So seeing Dust in a story looking fantastic and showing her morality? And she’s working with Magik, Dani, 90’s breakout star Marrow and Mary.
I do hope Kingpin would be impressed.

This looks like a repeat of the Mystique/ Rogue kind of relationship. Saturnyne is pretending to love and care about Curse and will use her as a weapon to accomplish what she desires, this is a repeat of Rogue, it's just too bad I'm not getting the same vision of Curse as I did with Rogue! Curse needs to stay nearby Magik, but even so their careers will not take that devine premonitious rise that I had with Rogue.
Wait, where do we find out where all the other mutants got sent? I must've missed an issue or something

While we are talking about X-Men has anyone else read John Byrnes fanfic comic X-Men Elsewhere doing what he would’ve wanted for X-Men post Dark Phoenix? It’s beautiful to look at (really took me back to being a kid reading X-Men again) but as much as the Jean/Phoenix/Madelyne mess was and still is to this day a bit of a mess (the classic it was Jean, no the Phoenix did all the bad, well here’s an example of what a bad version of Jean would be like etc) his storyline makes the Phoenix come across like a bad villain of the week. Fun read though
I've read some of Elsewhen. I liked how he shown a part of Kitty's power I've long theorized about: how she can "see" even though she's moving through solid matter. When you go read some old 80s comics we see one of her fave moves was to dive into the ground then a hand emerges under her target to grab, phase and drag them down. Despite they moved, she would still be able to target them.
So how?
Another clue was when Kitty & Logan returns from Japan and she sees Rachel Summers who first arrives while they were gone. Kitty recognizes her from the time her mind switched with her older self (Days of Future Past) and Rachel protected the unconscious form of Kate with the younger Kitty's mind. Rachel says that's its impossible for Kitty to know that since she was unconscious.
My theory is somehow has an awareness of her surroundings. Most of time it would be subconcious, until she needs to be aware.
In Elsewhen it showed Kitty moving through the floor and she sees a shadowy form of Logan, she moves so only her mouth emerges from floor to whisper to Logan.
In main world, Kitty showed a bit of awareness in X-Men:Shadow and Flame. She is following a ninja that attacked her. She looses the trail in an abandoned part of the subway, she takes a moment to meditate then suddenly looks a wall and moves through it and sees the ninja running away.

Ever since Xof Swords,(or was that the Krakoan Excalibur?) Marvel f-ed up and made Saturyne look like Emma Frost. When before her hair was more "platinum blond" more white with blond highlights and she parted her hair more to the side than close to the middle . Remember how Kitty pride had "wings" style of 'bangs' back in the '80s? Long hair swept from one side to the other and styled to look like bangs but wasn't really that short? That was Saturnyne's style for the longest time.
I was actually surprised her hair was more blond and now suffered from the dreaded "same face syndrome"
Mannnn I been obsessed with marrow since day one and I think this a great group. Once they said woman in white already new it was da lame ass saturnyne she corny she been corny since the was involve in the relaunch it’s like everytime the mutants are in some mythical realm it’s Merlin or saturnyne 2 ppl I can’t stand.

Nope Marvel don't like ultimate level characters who don't have problems of some kind that keep them from easily solve the world problems or taking over the world they keep Blue Marvel and Forge in their Laboratories mostly they took away cables masterful control over all of his powers again

No. Mutants are born with their powers. Mutates usually get their powers as a result of some sort of freak accident or experiment after they were born. Mutates who have children who are born with powers are still mutates because they don't have an x-gene Their powers come from their parents altered physiology.
There's a slight difference - mutants are born but mutates are made
Not just a slight difference; in Marvel it is specifically that humans born with the X-Gene (and a few with it artificially) are *mutants* but others who gain their powers by accidents, bioengineering or alien genetics, they are considered *mutates* (some of whom may even be born with the powers).
