    Thanks for the quick guide to set things up. I have several (better) table saws but I didn't bring one to the job site so I have to pick up this saw for a few cuts to finish up the contract. It looks like a usable saw with lots of extra adjustments to get things square for the cut .... and the price is reasonable.

      I also have a few better table saws, but this saw has its uses, and if you verify the setup, it is accurate, too bad it is not on sale, it is meant to be a jobsite saw, I use it alot, but for serious work, I still go back to my big table saw - that dust port out the back is an accident waiting to happen, all you have to do is set it down wrong and it will break - thanks for subscribing!

    Thank the heavens haha. I didn’t have the problem with the fence guide. I do have to measure and adjust to make sure I’m good before I cut. To adjust the blade to be true I shaved off one of the washers on the left side of the blade adjustment because I couldn’t get a true 90 degrees. For a saw around $130 you can’t go wrong with it. My only gripe is that HarborFreight doesn’t sell a featherboard that will fit in the miter slots. Thanks again your the best.

      I have a video that will be published soon on featherboard ideas, and shows the one that I use, which is a very different approach...... I used the HF yellow feather board, and I did not want to permanently modify the featherboard, but if you modify the featherboard, it is a better approach - and I cover an idea to use for featherboard mounts that has other possible uses, I need some time to work out how to use it, and just like the other idea, if I permanently modify the featherboard, it is and easy setup

    I wanted to pass on my heartfelt thanks for your video. I watched it before going to Harbor Freight to pick one up, then watched it as I set it up. I could not have done it without you. Cuts then made of the things I needed. Only odd thing was while putting the blade in, what looks like a rubber stopper with a spring in it popped down to the bottom of the saw casing. Worked fine without it, any idea what that piece is? Thanks again, your video made the setup relatively sane. Subscribed!

    • @snapwholeharborfreightreviews
      @snapwholeharborfreightreviews  Рік тому +2

      that happened to the me on the first one I had, it is a spacer for the dust collection chute that is under the saw blade, probably on the back by the riving knife, right under the saw top - it does work ok without it, I think its there to allow a little flex to the chute in case pressure is put on the chute while changing blades, glad you found the video helpful - thanks for subscribing!

    This was a perfect video. As a new table saw user I needed your excellent info. One question, other videos talk about the importance of riving knife being perfectly behind the blade. Mine isn’t. This Warrior 10” doesn’t have an adjustment for the riving knife. Did your saw riving knife align with blade? Thanks for the video.

    • @snapwholeharborfreightreviews
      @snapwholeharborfreightreviews  Рік тому +3

      when you cut a piece of wood on the warrior saw, the blade creates a kerf (just like a manual saw would to, just faster) the kerf continues behind the blade, and riving knife MUST go in the kerf, when I examined the riving knife mount, it was aligned, so I didn't even mention adjusting it, same for the saw I took back, the saw basically has a 2 point mounting, with a third lock point, let me look at it again to find the best way to adjust, I'll leave a message tomorrow - thanks for subscribing!

    • @mtnmonamona842
      @mtnmonamona842 Рік тому +1

      @@snapwholeharborfreightreviews Yep, I know this. The knife isn’t aligned with blade and I don’t see any way of adjusting or aligning it. No other videos discuss it. I wonder if I got a lemon, bummer, too late now to do anything about it.

      I just published a video on adjusting the riving knife on the admiral, its the same concept on the admiral - look at the exploded view diagram in the manual, parts 60-69 is the detail, looks like you'll have to use shims because it mounts a little different, but it is adjustable - thanks for subscribing

      @@snapwholeharborfreightreviews I had this same problem... Turns out I used a 7 inch blade... Went and picked up the 10 inch then it still would not align and I actually had the nuts reversed... Reversed the nuts then it's mostly lined up. Thanks very much for the excellent video. I learned a lot, but felt like a noob as I should have known it already! Really appreciated your good explanations. Problem I have: I align the blade at 90°, then rotate to 45 and it is way off, not parallel with the tracks. I would’ve thought if it were aligned at 90, vertically, and with the tracks, then it would be aligned with the tracks at 45. How do I align it horizontally when it is at an angle?

    • @snapwholeharborfreightreviews
      @snapwholeharborfreightreviews  Рік тому

      that is a tough one, makes the saw difficult to use, but its a sign the riving knife needs adjusted, the way its mounted, it should stay the same in both positions, the motor and the riving knife are both mounted on the same pieice of the frame, anyway you can get a video of what its doing? I've heard from several people having issues with the riving knife and made this video with ideas - ua-cam.com/video/0avJg2f5r80/v-deo.html - I had a similar issue as yours with the admiral, and traced it to the way the riving knife locked - when you go from 90 to 45 is the blade still parallel with the tracks? I'll look at the warrior saw today and see if I can reproduce - thanks for subscribing !

      @johnraffensperger Wait a minute… let me try to understand what you are sharing. Quick question: what do you consider the “tracks” to be? then we can go from there.

    • @snapwholeharborfreightreviews
      @snapwholeharborfreightreviews  Рік тому +1

      @@mikefranks4528 the tracks are the slots used to slide jigs across the table top - the most common are sleds, most commonly used to make most cross cut operations - its basic purpose is to ensure the cut is 90 degrees, if the slot is not parallel to the blade, you cut will not be 90 degrees, so it y ou built a box using the sled, the box would not be square - thanks for subscribing!

    The saw is okay for DIYers... but the biggest problem is to raise and lower the saw blade the machine uses two offsetting NYLON gears, not metal but NYLON. So sawdust builds up on the threads and between the gears and they strip. Be sure to blow that area clean often and DO NOT use any grease or lube... it will cause a build up and then your in trouble, this I know from experience.

    Unless you're making your own mitor jigs, I wouldn't cut a pizza with this thing. Flimsy, cheaply made, the mitor insert jiggles at least a 16th in each direction. Springs were popping out of the rathing knife handle. I was scared to turn it on. Spend an extra 30-50 bucks and get a name brand saw. Some cheaper models are built well, this is not one of them
