VERY NICE WORK 👌 DEFINITELY WORTH A THUMBS UP. 👍🏻 FROM BOSTON MASSACHUSETTS AREA. CAN'T WAIT TO SEE THE REST OF THE SPHERES. WOULD LIKE TO SEE THEM MADE INTO SOME KIND OF PLANETARIUM WITH ALL THOSE DIFFERENT COLOR STONS
I second the motion. And would like to see a piece of Fraser River jade as a sphere. I think thundereggs are very poorly suited for the sphere treatment. Not just the danger of breakage; (it won't take an open space geode to break; just two lines of crystals with a paper thin opening between them,) their nature makes seeing the really good bits in a spherical form hard - most of the patterns are found in the center where the sphere treatment doesn't expose them.
Totally magnificent what mother nature gave us all! You do a magnificent job of presenting it Dan! Thanks on behalf of everyone who's appreciating it as much as I do.....that prospectors beard got any salt in it today Lol! 💎😂
I absolutely love the picture stone!! In every form... raw, tumbled, cabochon, and now orb. The pinolite has always reminded me of palm trees... and to see a sphere of palm leaves is so cool!! Keep up the adventures and keep up your creativity with them!!!❤
Nice product there, Dan. I once made a sphere from marble I found in California and it turned out quite well. The rig I used had two pipe like cups and used corundum powder with some water to cut the rock. About 1 3/4 inches in diameter. I finally lost track of it over the many years and moves so now I only have the memories. Well done Dan! Joe S
"Wow, I'm absolutely mesmerized by the process of making spheres from your BC gem stones! It's incredible to witness the transformation from raw stones to beautifully polished spheres. Your skill and craftsmanship truly shine through in every step of the process. The colors and patterns of the gem stones are breathtaking, and the way you bring out their natural beauty is remarkable. Thank you for sharing this fascinating journey with us. I'm inspired to explore the world of lapidary and create my own gemstone spheres!"
They turned out great. I could have watched more of the sphere making process. Extremely interesting. In the future, you could put finger cotts on to cover your nails. Just a suggestion. Great video.
A much more simple and expedient process than what I had seen previously. These are beautiful pieces. I can’t wait the see all the new shiny balls of schist laying around. (Please laugh!) 😮🤪😜
On your thunder eggs maybe able to calculate the volume using water volume displacement then weigh them. Compare that to a known solid sample and that should help in finding the geodes.
Dan, fabulous specimens and subsequent spheres! I like them all! Although many people don't even think about it, but there is something magical about nature. Every piece, rough or polished, has its unique patterns and shapes. By the way, at the beginning when you showed the stones up close, I saw a gorilla and swan's faces in the stones. Magical..... Thank you for sharing with us! Awesome work for the man to make those beautiful spheres! It was really cool seeing the grinding machine and watching the whole process. Interesting! As always, I'm sending hugs from Alabama ❤️
Hi Dan, You might want to expand your sphere's to also include some of those multi-faceted stones and some egg shaped and just about anything else you can think of that might work. That ocean picture stone should make great little spheres. I also love the dalasite. 😀✌❤
So cool, that ocean picture stone came out phenomenal. I also really liked the cut right before they were turned into a sphere. They looked like giant game dice.
Man you weren’t joking that we would see this after Christmas lol. I think the Asian writing stone would look so cool as a sphere. Like some type of magical orb
Dan, you may be able to rule out most geodes by setting up a density experiment. Place a container, big enough to hold the rock to be tested, inside a larger bin and carefully fill it to the brim with water. Ease the sample into the water without getting too much of your hand in the water. Remove the container with the rock and either measure the volume of water in the bin (in ml) or weigh it (1 kg/liter). By doing this with a number of solid rocks ahead of time, you can arrive at a standard density for most rock (x g/ml). By then weighing the rock under test, you should get a density similar to your standard. If it is somewhat lower density, you might have a geode. A good test for some nasty snowy evening.
I've been throwing around the idea of a void % scale in my head for geodes for quite a while. You can put a graduated cylinder on a scale and check the weight vs volume displaced. I've been thinking about how to automate it but it's not very cheap in any way I've thought of it.
This is so cool! Your videos got me into prospecting and rockhounding as a hobby about a year ago. I've been learning to make spheres and it's awesome. I been making some out of sodalite and onyx. Anyways thanks for the great content as usual.
I wonder what a hollow thunder egg geode would look like cleaned and filled with a uv resistant transparent epoxy. Thank you for the videos Dan, I find myself always checking out your content quite often as its always very interesting.
I understand the fingernails because I am always working in dirt. My toenails are the same because I go barefoot. No amount of soap, brushing and scrubbing will get it. Some people are just so perfect! Especially those who never work outside and refuse to get their hands dirty. They know everything and feel the need to share just how clueless they are!
Those spheres are pretty amazing. I'm quite partial to the thunder eggs. I like the variation they offer. If I had the money, and I might depending on the price, I'd love to have one on my desk to look at daily.
The spheres are a winner...great idea....The pinolite was nice......can you do the same thing with something like a diabase porphory with lots of feldspar xals? It would sort of look like the pinolite.......That's crazy how they make the spheres.
We have nothing to sphere but sphere itself.
😂😂
Someone has all their marbles.
@@kiarawhalen1544 Or, they have lost them and this joke is the result....
@@kiarawhalen1544 depends, could be pi in the eye 😂
Yeah, but does anyone really give a schist? 😊
Great Spheres, Just beautiful, hope they bring great joy to anyone who gets one. Thanks for sharing I'll keep an eye out for one I can't resist......🤪
Can’t wait to see what shapes up!
Exquisite pieces! Working hands are no shame. It's the price paid to help share true beauty, like those spheres. A badge of honor, even.
Spheres turned out great and will make great show pieces for collectors and non-collectors alike!
If you must buy art, buy natural.
Can't wait to see the results of the new batch. Especially the jasper.
Didn't even see the thumb until you mentioned it. Beautiful work!
What a different way to present the beauty of Mother Earth!! You really open people’s eyes to it!! Thanks Dan!!
The ocean picture sphere looks like a gas giant, love it!!!
You know you're in the midst of greatness in the Rockhound world when you've got the means to make spheres as beautiful as yours.
The Thunder Egg looks AMAZING!!!
Another rock solid production by Dan
Everything looks better when it is a shiny sphere!
I really liked the ocean picture stone one. They were all nice and the finish product looks great. Should be a good money maker.
VERY NICE WORK 👌 DEFINITELY WORTH A THUMBS UP. 👍🏻 FROM

That flower stone is breathtaking
I'd love to see how Chinese writing stone comes out as a sphere. The patterns would look so cool!

Niice orbs.....that machine never ceases to amaze.....yes, a long process, but so very cool. Ty for showing.
Oh my im so in love with that ocean picture stone, lol.
They were all beautiful!
Dan Dan he's our man. If he can't sphere it, no one can!
It was awesome to meet you yesterday at the penticton gemshow
All the best dan....

Gorgeous stones.
God makes AWESOME geologic specemines.
Thank you Dan Hurd...
Awesome spheres. Thanks for showing us the process

Really enjoy watching Dan enjoy his passion. He makes great videos. Very entertaining and educational.
I have a few of these, did wonder how they were made ...it's a lovely way to show off a good polish 👍
Super cool Dan. They all look amazing. can't wait to see the next batch you get back. ☺️💜

Can't wait to get ahold of a sphere!
What a process, but what great results 🤩 gorgeous! All of them 🕊
Dan, those spheres are awesome! I'm thinking using, LED lights.
I don't think anyone was looking at your thumb till you kept bringing it up. I know I was looking at the spheres. Beautiful!
last time I had dozens of rude insults about my thumb nails
Watching from up in Ontario, Love the spheres, especially the thunder egg one… Thanks for the great content as always 😎🇨🇦👍
The Pinolite and Dallasite spheres are the spheres that I would be interested in, if I had the money to spare to buy any.
They turned out great. I could have watched more of the sphere making process. Extremely interesting. In the future, you could put finger cotts on to cover your nails. Just a suggestion. Great video.
Beautiful stones! You should buy as many as you can afford! I’ve got 3 ocean picture stone specimens! They are soooo beautiful!
Love the look at the 3 axis ball cup grinding station. That is cool. I used a 2 cup version and it was tough to use. Get eggs easy.
Wow, those are awesome! Love it
It was the perfect prospecter's thumbnail....lol
The spheres are breathtaking
Very nice to see the end products! I'd like to see more videos about what can be done with the stones you find.
It's always a blessing to watch your videos mate, no matter what the video's about you always welcome us in and captivate us! 😃

❤These spheres look AWESOME❤️
Last week I commented on another channel that your BC OPS would be awesome as a sphere!!👍👍😁
Wow.. they are gorgeous! ! !
They all look great! Ocean & agate was my favorites. Theyre complex
They’d make amazing custom gear knobs 👍🏼
Dayummmm I honestly didn't know you didn't any carving/polishing. I thought it was all mineral specimens. Love it! Thanks for the content, Dan

That's a workin' man's thumb mate 👍😉 great video.
Beautiful spheres Dan.
That’s the sphere-It Dan!
they looked amazing Dan
I would be interested in having these spheres to add to my collection of crystal spheres. rock on Dan 🤘, no pun intended

Oh schist! I'm going to your web store after this! You got me at "sphere".
So awsome. The spheres are so cool... 😊

Absolutely beautiful the look like planits
That thunder egg sphere is way cool. Well they all way cool. But I like that thunder egg.
They look amazing
I really like the Dalacite spheres. Maybe it's partly being on camera, but all polished up, it felt like it had a lot of visual depth.
I love it, Dan.
Fantastic video beautiful work.
Is it a bird? Is it a plane? No, it's Dan Hurd Prospecting!
Wow those came out great !
Another great video Dan keep up the amazing work you do
I really like egg shaped stones too!!!
