  • Today we're setting a time limit again of 20 minutes! Let's see how far we get in creating a loose rendition of some candies for Easter. This is the full uncut process, where I talk as I paint.
We will look at the essence of what makes a gummy candy appear convincable. The focus lies on simplifying and not getting lost in details or painting a perfect picture.
❓If you have any questions or requests, I'd love to read about it in the comments. Please know that my materials are mentioned at the bottom of this text.
📷The reference picture was taken from my weekly hosted #foodpaintchallenge and you can find it on my Instagram page. If you enjoy painting and would like to paint this subject yourself, be sure to check it out! Also, feel free to use one of the older references on instagram! All are free to use, and there is no consent needed when you sell your art works based on these references.

🛒My paintings (and prints) are available for purchase in my online store pfeilarts.etsy.com (this one isn't on there)
ℹ️If you’d like to know more about me, or get a custom order (know that I’m up for painting anything you can think of), you can always visit my website www.dennispfeil.com
🖼️The surface I’m painting on is oilpaint paper.
👨‍🎨The paint I use is a special oil paint (Cobra, from Royal Talens) which you can thin by using water instead of spirits. Other than that, it's the same as regular oil paint.
🖌️ For brushes I use the cobra brand brushes, and for smaller sizes I use Mus brushes.
🎨 On the palette for this painting:
    - titanium white
    - permanent yellow
    - pyrrole red
    - phtalo green
    - ivory black
